Hi there!, Vuforia is now integrated into Unity, so you have what you need in the latest editions of Unity. You can still get the older version from developer.vuforia.com/downloads/sdk You need to login to get the package. I think it is at 6-2-10 now. Not sure of the changes, but it should work pretty much the same. I will get around to a vid using the inbuilt version soon.
If I have understood you correctly, this is a bug that can pop up from time to time. The good news is that it is an easy fix. Using the project browser, goto Assest/Vuforia/ImageTargetTextures/ and select your image target. In the inspector, look for the 'Texture Shape' it should be the second one on the panel. Change from 'Cube' to '2D'. When you click away an onto another object, it should refresh and display correctly. Let me know this solution worked. It would be helpful to others. Thanks for watching.
5.5 did not work. Asset package did not play nice, so I dropped back to 5.4 and all was OK. I suspect this is a temporary thing. I would expect 5.5 support is on the way.
My model is has color because of the way it was created. The model came from Revit, then I put it through 3DS and a conversion utility to change the Autodesk Materials to 'Standard' materials. The 'standard' materials were then embedded in the fbx file and imported into unity. I have a video for the process at th-cam.com/video/6Z3tyROCchc/w-d-xo.html Perhaps it will help. Yes; might even be easier and more reliable. Just change the drawing image to your QR code and you are good to go. Good luck with your project.
