Bro i have never watched a single one of your videos before, but i can tell you care about your supporters/fans because theres pretty much a response back from you on every single comment in this section.
I'm trying this recipe for a friend! I don't drink anymore, but I enjoy brewing. This is the simplest recipe I've used. Usually, I use cans of fruit or something, but it never turns out right. We got a bottle of grape juice for free, so I threw in all the ingredients, topped it with a coffee filter, rubber band, and the lid. I had to skim the top a few times, but now it's been over a week, and it smells incredibly good. I did have to add a sprinkle more yeast after a few days as it wasn't activating right, now its perfect. I'm going to give it a few more weeks, then I'm going to ask what they think of it! I will say this used to be a cheap way to make alcohol, but now the ingredients have gotten expensive. Get you some $0.99 yeast and get your juice from a foodbank or dollar store.
Yes I used to do this and sell it to survive when I was in prison it is very very strong the more sugar you put in the more potent it will be the sugar turns into alcohol
about a week ago this video popped up. couldn't believe how simple this was. after a tangent of watching every other channel that does this, i have circled back to here. there is now a cabinet full of juice and sugar in the back room patiently waiting. you the man Platt! *CHEERS* ..(it's a good thing i didn't know about this as a teen) haha
Frank Howe lmao ikr.. plus what’s she talking about “morons”? I made a joke about him adding more yeast to a bottle of grape juice then he said he would and I’m being call a “moron” than needs to go back to school lmao
well there slim, i tried this before knowing really what i was doing so i used ocean spray cherry cranberry and added one cup of sugar and probably too much bread yeast--like half a packet or 2/3. well the fizz is slow but definitely working. i figured it to be a loss on abv anyway so i tried a taste after about 60 hours of fermentation and well sir, it certainly tastes good! it's crisp and kinda carbonated like ye olde wine coolers of yesteryear and does certainly have some booze in there! probably less than 5% but i'll let it finish working. meanwhile, ima start an applejuice one now that i have a general practice on it. thank you much. i subscribed. keep doin' your thing, yo.!
I made some like this several years ago. It didn't taste very good so I put it away in a cupboard and forgot about it. I found it again about two years later and it tasted just like sherry wine! Well, I don't drink anymore so now I use it for cooking. Does a great job, especially with seafood.
Can't stress enough the massive respect I have for you for not dragging this out and making it into some 15 minute video where you just bullshit around 90% of it, with only 10% of the content being how to actually do it, spread out throughout the entire video, so we're forced to watch the whole thing.
I've been brewing like this for 3 years and have won two 1st prizes at my local field day shows lol. 3x3ltr green apple juice 4x3ltr red apple juice, 1kg sugar, and 1 sachet of Mangrove Jacks SN9 wine yeast. Too easy 😊

I’ve seen many videos on this but this was by far the most simple way.. no balloon top no valve no having to burp it.. the loose cap is genius.. I know prison folks use bread for the yeast but this is straight drink. Kudos my man and cheers 🍻
I just want to say, this is helped me a lot financially. My boyfriend and I just got an apartment and are struggling, so we have used this a couple times. Let me just say, add a little bit extra yeast, and that shit is potent AF.
I’m coming back to this video to subscribe and thank you for many many many fun nights you helped me and my friends have. I watched this when I was 15 and sadly my days of making prison wine for the boys are over. I’m 19 now but my boy just turned 21.
I'm sorry but. Yes alcohol can be good in moderation. But to me an "alcoholic" alcohol has taken me on a horrid nightmarish journey of addiction and depression and domestic instability unlike I have ever experienced. And yes. I know how to make homemade wine.

Back in the 80's I worked on many exploration oil rigs in the Bering Sea of Alaska. It was a very restricted environment and of course alcohol free for many reasons. Working in the "hospitality" arm of the business (feeding and housing the workers), we became absolute Masters of Pruno and ad to get very creative in explaining the odd over-consumption of natural fruit juices. One thing for sure, the fermenting of this elixir created a very distinct odor and was very hard to disguise in a closed environment... but we managed. We did, however, experience a couple of "accidents" from insufficient venting that resulted in explosions that left evidence all over the walls and ceilings of the brewmaster closet. Good thing this all occured prior to "CSI-Miami" and the prolific use of luminol :-)
So I decided to give this a try. I bought the juice and added the sugar and the yeast (added wine yeast). After 5 days it was done fermenting. (I let it rest for 2 days)now it's onto the second stage. And let me tell you, it tasted amazing, like really amazing. I'm gonna leave it until easter and then im going to bottle it.
Hi there Platt, thanks for this video, good thing I didn’t know about this as a teenager, tee hee, I would have been very popular. But now I am a mom and all my kids are grown and I have time to make wine. Old fashioned table wine by my standards. I made this from apple juice and it was delicious, the taste was amazing for me, I just serve it really cold in stone cup. Mommy got a little blasted from that first batch. 😂 I have 4batches fermenting under my cupboard right now, 5 more days. 🎉🎉 It even clears up nice when I decant it and leave in the fridge for 3 days or so. I don’t buy wine anymore, just the ingredients! Thanks again for making this simple and enjoyable video without over explaining everything and CHEERS to all the comments, I am cracking up!😂
Thanks Platt, you are a lifesaver! I've been making my own booze for several months now. I even showed my brother your videos and he makes it as well. Thanks again Platt, have a good one sir

I tried a recipe similar a few years back. I messed up and added three cups of sugar instead of one. When it finally was through fermenting, it was so strong that I was three sheets to the wind before I knew what happened. A word from the wise, follow the directions as stated.
I've been making mead for around 8-9 years. I've gotten pretty good at it. One of the biggest things I learned was it can make the place you are fermenting it at to really smell like alcohol. Especially if a gallon blows up. Also the bread yeast used in this video can make some pretty strong smelling wine with a good to a bit strong alcohol taste. It's also given me some of the highest proof out of the different types of yeast. However you are pretty much trading taste for abv in my opinion compared to other yeast.
Thanks bro you changed my life. It's so much cleaner than anything from the stores. And my hangover is like the one's I had when I was 20. Unbelievable I used grape juice today I'll try the strawberry kiwi lol. One glass is a plenty thanks again this should be your top comment not some loser

We always had a couple of 5 gallon jugs going. Nice that the Rauch juice was in pop-top bottles so we could decant into those and reseal. Never a problem with authorities. They more or less knew what was up. Drunk in public or transporting alcohol was another matter however.

@@Travis-ey7mg That's no lie.
Best of luck. I hope it turns out great.
Thank you Platt! I made my first batch with orange juice and it worked! Tasted like grapefruit but wow this is a game changer!

It's also given me some of the highest proof out of the different types of yeast. However you are pretty much trading taste for abv in my opinion compared to other yeast.
