a tip for this game (if you have not figured it out yet) is to execute heavies with sleep gas bolts. the bolt knocks of the gas mask and releases gas. works every time

That's weird. I tried it, it did work. However, it required me to shot the helmet off of the Heavy Infantry first.

This isn’t nearly as hard as it is for me, and I play on normal wtf? For me on round 14, the game starts glitching constantly until I die. Frags get stuck mid air near me, but only when I’m surrounded so I can’t just run. People shoot me through walls. My bullets just don’t do anything, even when they aren’t moving and I have a sniper. And people wait outside the building I’m in/on, until they all sprint at me at the exact same time. It’s not physically possible to beat with all this going on especially when a few of them stay back and constantly throw frags at me.

Every level has a spot to counter attack. In Pakistani Embassy, there is a place which you can hide in there and the enemies cannot do anything to you.
The same with Swiss, Egyptian and Russian Embassy.

Pakistani Embassy:
The spot is where the Dead Drop Flash Drive lies. It is located in a hidden back alley.
Climb up the left side of the front part of the two-story building and head all the way to the left until you reach the hidden alley with the Flash Drive.

Other levels follow the same rules. The spot where you can hide and shoot people without being spotted, always lies where the Dead Drop Flash Drive is located.
I played this game for long time and hadn't seen any hiding place in Pakistani embassy where enemies can't get you. And the hiding place in Swiss embassy still makes you vulnerable to grenades
