Yes, what foreign visitors don't know is that , inside those ugly buildings there are often beautiful and luxurious apartments. It's kind of our little secret.
I hate it but appartments are great and people living there are,unlike in formerly non communist countries, not poor people. It is, actually, considered fancy location because it's practical.
Singidun was an ancient Celtic city, not Roman! The conquering Romans added um to make it more Latin sounding. I urge visitors to visit Knez Mihailova precinct to appreciate what all of Belgrade would have looked like if the Germans did not bomb the most majestic buildings in Europe
