For a lot of character (not everyone, depend on the vendor) you can get a similar result by increasing the base bump a little bit, the skin will be less smooth and more realistic
You get a rougher skin but it's not really the kind of realism we're going for here. I rushed things a bit in this video as I was just demonstrating the method of exporting the Normal map but if you spend the right amount of time on this technique you can get skin that looks ultra realistic.

I need this for my characters 🙂 I just don't need the eye balls. I just go to noise and increase the UV.
This technique, if you give it the right amount of time will give you vastly more realistic results.
