I know I will get flamed for this, but sometimes freebies make the customer feel a little bit special and they mostly show their appreciation for your work, It also shows you can be a strusted tradesman who isnt going to just charge for everything and anything. Looks great.

LHL made a good point, he is willing to loose some in the short term, but will have the customer on contract/regular maintenance so will end up making it up and more in the long. he really treats customers nice and great work

Im a gardener meself... self employed. and its very hard when roughly pricing jobs up little ones. iv only just found your videos and really helpfull. sorry for asking but roughly how much you charge for jobs like that?.. i usually charge £15 per hour.

There's an old saying.....you can draw more flies with honey than vinegar. You are right about drawing more regular clients with just a little bit of extra free care, than over charging and loosing some.

I am really fed up with the domination of US sites about lawn care and gardening which are often useless for my purposes so it was really great to find a UK site about gardening that is so informative and useful - it is a pleasure to see that you maintain such high standards in every job you do and I always learn something new when watching your videos - keep them coming!

Funny you should say that..when I was writing the title I thought "weeding" is going to put people off straight away....oh well.. if it does it's their loss 😂😂 and yes .it's the basics and backbone of gardening 👍👍

I know what you mean by people not cutting their hedges, drives me crazy. Especially if they grow over the pavement. Like it was once said on Gardeners Question time: Plants almost never die from being cut back too much. you would have to take a flame thrower at them to finish them off.
