I'm 67 now but as a kid growing up in the 1960's , 70's the Duke took me on adventures i will never forget.
When The Cowboys came out in 1972 i was 15 and damn did i wish i was along for that cattle drive !
It's too bad that later generations might never know what a True American Patriot he was .
Although I watched a young Scottish woman react to the Quiet Man awhile back and she loved it !
Just last weekend on Grit , I watched McLintock , Hondo and Rio Bravo and enjoyed them all for the 20th or 30th time lol, they never grow old !
From Stagecoach to the Shootist there will Never be another John Wayne !

To the Wayne Family, I am 62 years old. I grew up watching every John Wayne movie I could get my hands on. When I became disabled, those movies were my lifeline. Cancer is a horrible disease that doesn't go away. After I would have a treatment, I would watch the movies over and over. They gave me courage and strength to face the coming days. When my daughter began to talk she first full phrase believe it or not was "We're burning Daylight". She is now 27.I live with my son and my room is covered with JW memorabilia. I will always be a Duke fan and keep him and your family in my heart. God Bless.

I wrote him one of those letters when I was just a kid. I recall lying on the living room floor with pencil and paper and, struggling to find the words to let him know how much he meant to me. When I finished it, My Dad sent it to him for me. Not long after I heard the news that he had passed away, my little eight year old heart was broken. I remember welling up with tears and looking to my father, only to find him teared up as well. I hoped so much that he recieved my letter in time.
I'm not related to Mr. Wayne, but his passing was the first loss of a family member I ever felt.
All my love to the Wayne family and his fellow fans.

Isn't that something? Who wouldn't be proud of this man. I wish you the best. And the last movie 🎬 you're grandfather made The Shootist, he gave it his all when he was ill. John was a man with grit and no how. He is missed greatly. His voice and actions always sticks in my mind, a true 👍 American. The world was a better place when he was here. Thanks for reading those letters.

My dad died 41 years ago, aged 44, when I was 14. He loved John Wayne films and we would watch them together. Whenever I'm low or going through a bad time, I put one of his films on and immediately feel better. I was fortunate to see 'The Hollywood Costume' exhibition in London a few years ago and was thrilled to see some of his outfits. I think the world of John Wayne and always will. God Bless, from Bakewell, Derbyshire, in England x

John Wayne is America, he will always be with me. As everyone knows, he's still alive. I turn on my dvd and there he is, saying the same lines I have listen dozen of times but they always have a reasonable meaning, love for your country, respect for your fellows, praying to God. Duke has always been my friend and he will always be by my side. God bless him.

I am a 55 year old Australian fan of John Wayne. I remember watching his movies growing up in the 70's and was amazed with his characters. I also loved watching Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis films. I believe our two countries are very similar with our harsh, rugged yet beautiful landscapes and the great John Wayne would have fitted in very well in our Australian outback, because very few people can.
I think his movies getting the remastering treatment is a great idea and I have a small yet growing collection of dvd's and blurays to keep me entertained. I thank the Wayne family and friends for these interesting TH-cam videos and the great work supporting cancer research, Richard.

I am from McAlester, OK and had the honor of meeting Ethan at a celebrity rodeo a few years ago. I have been a life long fan and wish I could have met Mr. Wayne. I have been to the Museum in Ft. Worth and loved every minute of it. I plan on returning every so often just to gain a sense of grounding from a true Patriot. Have you considered the possibility of opening all of those letters and scanning them to a database online so that people from all over the world can read each one? I am sure that millions would love to see how much impact Mr. Wayne had on people all over the world. Maybe in some way it could have a positive impact on the many political, theological and medical issues that seem so prevalent today. Thank you for all your work and commitment to keeping his name and life so relevant.
