      That's the difference between east and west Bengal hilsha dishes . Hilsha has own aroma so no need to add those... Only black cumin and mustard go well with hilsha ...

      @@ItzRockyR Don't come to teach a Bangladeshi how to cook Elish. Yeah we use onion in most of the Elish reciipe. But we use it where it's need not unnecessarily. As it is a Pulaw recipe, you must have to added onion and ginger gerlic paste. It's compulsory for the dish. This is not a light gravy dish.

      @@ItzRockyR lol. Real Ilish? You forgot the very fact that this real ilish is imported from Bangladesh in your country every year in tonnes. Don’t be so entitled to teach a Bangladeshi what real ilish smells or tastes like. Not only does it sound stupid but also ridiculous! We know how a real ilish from Padma tastes and smell like. May be the stuffs you get in your part, apart from the Bangladeshi ones, does not smell or taste as good, that’s why you are too afraid to use anything with it. Also we have a variety of ilish dishes with different prep which I highly doubt you have heard of or know how it tastes like.

      It’s a fish found in the river delta of Bangladesh. It has a unique taste and flavor. The fish salmon somewhat has a flavor that is nearer to ilish. But consider salmon a very cheap and much less tastier version of an ilish.

      *বাংলাদেশের আসল ইলিশ রান্না এটাএবং বাংলাদেশের ইলিশ রান্না এরকম হয় বলেই মজা হয় আর পশ্চিমবঙ্গের লোকরা ইলিশ টিলিশ তেমন রান্না করতে পারে না,তাই আপনার এটা ট্রাই করা উচিত কেননা এটা আসল ইলিশ রান্না*

      Vai you might have different cooking style but that doesn’t mean that ours is any less. Especially when it comes to ilish, cause Bangladesh hocche ilish er desh. In fact India te apnara ne ilish khan shetao mostly amader country thekei imported. So at least amader desh er mach amra ranna korte jani na eirokom hasshokor kotha na bolleo hoto.
