Sounds like the same with corrupt cops. It seems we the people, who the laws are to protect, for some reason fail to know them and never attempt to learn them so it is up to us and knowing the law doesn’t always work since the corrupt and uneducated continue to violate the law and constitution without consequences thanks to the Judicial branch for giving themselves immunity
Just wait until you have a full jury trial and decide to stand up and nullify the verdict. See how pissed off the magistrate is then. Or better yet. Change the states jurisdiction over you over a minor “infraction”. So much corruption and evil, it’s almost to good to win.

That’s the part I loved. He walked right into it. It should have been obvious how blatantly he was trying to be found in contempt lol. That’s what arrogance leads to though. That god complex (hubris) is always what’s gets them.
The judge had been bribed and wasn't prepared to listen to any evidence. Unfortunately for him, he was too obvious about it and the lawyer realised what was happening. The evidence the law was about to bring and the torts he was quoting would have been admitted by any reasonable judge. He then insulted the judge which earned him a fine and pushed it far enough that the judge found him in contempt of court. A lawyer is entitled to a hearing whenever he's charged with contempt of court and that hearing is presided over by either; a panel, a jury, or a different judge. He effectively baited the judge into a fair hearing. The man watching on camera is the person who has paid for that decision. The show is called Goliath
Yes, you are right, then it’s seriously went downhill with its absurdity. Whole episodes about nothing. The whole film noir theme of season four was just silly and a monumental waste of time.
Can't introduce evidence if your case is dismissed.... outburst are fine able offenses. But with contempt charges you have to have due process which means a hearing where evidence can be presented which was his point... get evidence on the record so it can't be swept under the rug ..
Ok judge was bribed by defendant corporation When he refused to hear any facts plaintiff lawyer stated he was bribed. He was held in contempt and fined. He’s entitled to a hearing where he can prove judge bribed. Thus judge gets scared…
Billy Bob's whole goal was to get his evidence introduced. The judge was paid to dismiss the case to avoid that. But when the contempt charge came up, the hearing will be his opportunity to introduce the evidence.
Just like the TV Series ER... cute, interesting, but nothing like real life. Criminals aren't concerned with laws, they aren't bound by them. In real life, there is no risk for a corrupt judge, or those that bought him off.
Oh, there is risk. Criminals aren’t concerned with the law. The corrupt very much are. They must maintain the image of the innocent. Because they are accountable to others in the system. Only when the system itself is corrupted do they have some protection, but even then they are vulnerable to having their corruption used against them by other corrupt actors.

Except no evidence was brought up. The defense made a motion which should have allowed the plaintiffs to present evidence that it was in standing. The judge didn’t let them and tried to just bury the case.
