Crying just watching this :( I remember listening to this years ago and it has got me through so many dark times. I hope mark knew just how much his music meant to so many people. We miss you X
I always looked forward to everything he brought out with great anticipation. When I learned of his death I remember thinking 'that's one less thing to look forward to in life'. Remarkable man.
Anyone notice the drummer playing an amplifiers road case for a base drum with the ride upside down just sitting on it... shit like that is why i love this band
hes literally on like, a three piece kit too. the amount of creativity and feeling you need to have to make that kit work is insane. its weird how music does this big circle all the way back to simple stuff being the most interesting.
Just incredible...like some others on here lucky enough to have seen him in Bristol Academy UK...sadly not too long before his death RIP m8 you were and always will be a true talented, authentic and original artist
I've discovered Mark Linkous a couple of weeks ago thanks to Trentemoller and today Mark reminded me of Jason Molina in numerous ways. I decided to do a little check-up and found out that Jason also passed away few months ago. Please search for Song:Ohia and Magnolia Electric Co. you will not regret it.
Uploaded just two days after a horsey who sparkled passed this plain. I'm dealing with death today Mark, and it's you that is guiding me through it, and in that, you are immortal.
I am looking for Lauren Tittle from Mesquite, Texas. This was her favorite song, I haven't talked to her since 2005. Lolo!!! I miss you girl, it's Jess ❤️❤️❤️
Goddamn it's so very hot Supposed to come a rain but it's not Oh yeah Here come the painbirds Oh yeah Here come the painbirds Spiral down those hateful dears Between our skins and burning spheres Oh yeah Here come the painbirds Oh yeah Here come the painbirds Goddamn it's so very hot, spiral down those hateful dears Supposed to come a rain but it's not, between our skins and burning spheres Oh yeah Here come the painbirds Oh yeah Here come the painbirds Oh yeah Here come the painbirds Oh yeah
@sortilegus I really wish he had. There's barely even any live footage of him on youtube :(. Fantastic musician. And I agree with you, the Good Morning Spider songs better live
This is never going to make any sense? Not going to sound any good, he said? English is not my language, but that just don't make any sense. This sound so good, its like the best.
great song. so sad in retrospect. does anyone know if he ever released a live album? there's something lacking in the studio albums i think, though i can't put my finger on it.
She was there as a fellow recovering addict, trying to keep him clean. His life was a tragedy, and he was destitute and alone by the end. “The sad beautiful world of sparklehorse” tells the whole heartbreaking story. He was a survivor. But everyone has a breaking point. He was a good man. But what’s beautiful to you was pain, humiliation and heartbreak for him.
"hey im sick singing is gonna be bad"
*proceeds to eviscerate my soul*
I'll always come back here
It may be worth in my later years to hear every live painbirds
Crying just watching this :( I remember listening to this years ago and it has got me through so many dark times. I hope mark knew just how much his music meant to so many people. We miss you X
Heartbreaking to think how alone and in pain Mark was.
That drummer is amazing.
When a drummer plays with his heart.
Definitely
I always looked forward to everything he brought out with great anticipation. When I learned of his death I remember thinking 'that's one less thing to look forward to in life'. Remarkable man.
Mark was such a down-to-earth, cool guy in addition to being a brilliant singer/songwriter with his own sound! RIP!!!!!
one of my favorite songs of his, and this performance is absolutely stunning
Mark is great!
This is such a great version of the song.
Anyone notice the drummer playing an amplifiers road case for a base drum with the ride upside down just sitting on it... shit like that is why i love this band

+Tough guys don't dance People fear what they dont understand.

Few people have ever been able to make depression and despair sound so heart-achingly beautiful.

great song. so sad in retrospect. does anyone know if he ever released a live album? there's something lacking in the studio albums i think, though i can't put my finger on it.
You’re crazy, the studio albums are masterpieces.
And no. He never released a live album. His pride and joy was home recording.
@@RustinChole No doubt, their first album was ridiculously good. Lightning in a bottle. So much raw emotion.
Just saw something on googlet that led me here....this guy is gone?
Yeah, killed himself :( So sad.
He shot himself in the heart on March 5th 2010. I highly recommend “the sad beautiful world of sparklehorse” article by pitchfork.
Here, late, but here.
Painbirds* (9 years later)
😂 I just noticed now! Been coming here 4 years. 😢
Does anybody know what kind of mic he is using on the left??
it's an old Dictaphone, I think
William Vollman on the drums?
I would like to know the name of the drummer
Ah Mark. :(
@jas111000
was just about to say the same before i read this....just feel so much better after hearing this :)
When Mark rolls his guitar volume up at the beginning it sounds like the intro guitar to Fear Innoculum by Tool
Fucking tune and a half
is so amazing also the girl on the bass...he have had beauty around you...why finish?
