Definitely the best laravel channel in Yt, i was searching for a playlist like this for a couple days when i thought: "Wait... does laravel daily has a playlist about testing? Lets see" and here im with my problem solved and well explained

Definitely a lot more pros than cons when it comes to testing. You just have so much more confidence in your code. Especially when refactoring or optimizing which is common. I've also found it useful as a form of documentation when coming back to old projects.

Surely after one video per day, it's time to take a break after this long time of helping people with your time.
    Again thank you !

    Great course as usual 🤩
And, as a Grace, it is something I really needed to step up in my Laravel beginner journey.

Testing is essential if you are writing code by someone other than yourself. You will only be able to know if your changes brake some functionality of the program if there are tests to catch any issues.

Hello Mr. Korop, what's the prerequisites of this course? I'm pretty new in testing in PHP. Yup, that might seem wired but I never realised testing is necessary and I should learn it. But while following your Laravel Learning Roadmap, I got stuck almost at end of the Upper Beginner Level just because I don’t know testing 😪
I'm currently learning basic PHPUnit from a Udemy Course by Dave Hollingworth, and it seems promising.
Thank you in advanced for your answer. Good day!

Not sure if there are any prerequisites except for general Laravel knowledge. Some course lessons will maybe talk about concept you may not know, so you may skip those, but generally the course is very practical, so you can just practice writing simple tests like in the course lessons.

@@LaravelDaily Spot On! Thank you for replying to my question. By the way, I've been wondering for a while if there's a dedicated section called 'Prerequisites' / 'Requirements' available on almost every course detail page would be nice and great to have.
At least, a nice little badge/pill containing course Level/Difficulty somewhere beneath the course title would be much more beginner and user-friendly!
      Great Day!

It's very very individual, I can't really define my course level of beginner or not. Majority of my courses though are directed at so-called "advanced beginners" :)
And since it's a FREE course here on TH-cam, what's the worst that could happen if you try to take it? You would spend a few hours and still learn SOMETHING new? :)

@@LaravelDaily Ah, I was talking about your courses on Laravel Daily. I like the modern minimalistic layout overall. It was my personal opinion though :D

I wonder why they don't have time to write automated tests ... 🤔 Maybe it's because they manually test the sh*t out of their application and fix production bugs.

    • @LaravelDaily
      @LaravelDaily  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

In most cases, because they test it manually quickly and rely on *users* to test it in real-life. Because managers give them 123 more new tasks.
