Zephrys played multiple times per game no less... Dude was immortal.
That ending was beautiful. "This deck is worse in the mirror." "The only advantage of this deck is Zephrys." Then he finally draws Zephrys after a long battle, and almost immediately goes from losing to win the game.
Double Zephrys battlecry + bounce back is the nuts. Plus there's a decent amount of counterplay since it's (usually) predictable what the "perfect card" will be in a given situation, so it honestly doesn't even feel broken (at least, compared to the likes of all the other crap in standard).
That first paladin was in awe on of trumps big brain moment that he fled in terror

Paper Titan It’s Zeddy, he doesn’t snipe. He plays more hearthstone than pretty much any streamer
arena is even worse. so many people there taking a full minute for mulligan and roping on turn 1-3 for no good reason except pissing you off. how difficult can it be to spend 1 mana? i wish blizzard would just cut time in half for first few turns.
Zeddy was like "my opponent is playing cards!" at the end of this match.

ive been playing HS for over a year, and today I got legend by playing turn 1 counterspell against a quest shaman. immediately conceded
Was it in Wild, if not I am curious to how u'd get counter spell out in standard on turn 1
@@justatuna5640 coin ancient mysteries, get counterspell for 0, play it, opponent might have done a tempo play on turn 1 instead of quest idk.

I will give this a try tomorrow. I don't think the aggressive quest shaman decks work to the full potential of the quest. Building in some control like this seems to be key.
I've started playing Quest Shaman with Twilight Drakes and Faceless Lurker and the 4/4 Mech that gets stealth for a turn. Makes my Shudderwock into something like a 6/55
One crazed alchemist on the stealthed shudderwokc and BOOM im ACTUALLY Divine Spirit Priest in Shaman Disguise
Jukantos Yea for some reason twilight drake and a card that boosts all minions in your hand makes it strong. I was undefeatable for a moment
@@williss11 The giant health pool just makes it SO chunky. I've even started experimenting with Siamat because putting taunt on it is SO incredibly effective - not to mention the twilight drakes and faceless lurkers are great high health bodies for 2:1 trades in the midgame stages of the game

Sandbinder absolutely not. It draws you your zephrys which is the reason you play the deck.
Ok, I've been playing your deck, or at least a close version of it, for a few dozen games. I made minor edits, but overall, I like the play. I've actually out valued a quest druid (including wiping 2 Nomi's off the board) AND I've out-tempo'd a tempo rogue who dropped a 12/12 Van Cleef on turn 4. (I put up taunts and never stopped going face) Granted, I got very lucky on those games, but that's the way this deck plays. If you don't start off lucky, try to survive long enough that you get a lucky hand.

Its one of the worst cards created. How at all is is balanced, that you can have a card that can give you an answer in damn near any situation? Its busted
@@A1phaz0ne It's balanced because the power level of many other cards is higher, and Zephrys is only activated in a highlander deck or after heavily thinning your deck. You can also play around it by knowing what answers it can generate, since there are lots of board states where there's no good answer in Basic/Classic.
Just look at Dr Boom. He's like a Zephrys every other turn for the rest of the game, plus 7 armor on the turn you play it, for the price of 9 mana. If you discover an Omega Devastator, a 4/5 mech body with rush + 10 free single-minion damage. Opponent plays more minions? 2 mana discover it again another 2 turns from now with like a 10% chance.
Does anybody know what made him play the more value oriented quest deck and not the cheaper tempo version? Are the nerfs actually the reason for it?

That last guy's deck was *definitely* better....except you had Zephrys.
If you draw Zephyris the deck is super strong, better then the original one.
But not drawing it makes the deck awful.

Is Highlander Quest Shaman really this good, or do you just make it LOOK this good? I have the normal Quest Shaman and I wanna know if you recommend the switch.

@@poppers7317 maybe he doesnt have enough dust to play all the fun decks? it might be a waste to make all these cards, if he doesnt have them, for it to be a bad deck.
He says in the video that he feels this decks is worse than the regular version and should retire the Zephyr version

It was plagued with missplays, he took two of the bloodknights or whatever, he didn't lightning to clear the turn before it was just horrid

Nope
priorities that i suggest: Shudderwock, Giggling inventor, Swampqueen Hagatha, Siamat, walking fountain, hearthquake, Elisiana, Pit crocolisk, Jepetto, Al akir, Phaoris, Ysera,, colossus of the moon, sea giant.
First one is top priority, then the next one and so. If already has one copy in your deck, procede selecting another one.
Are Uther and Green-hair-man voiced by the same person?
Trump, when youre done with Standard, could you try going wild with a Raza, Shadowform/Death Knight Anduin and Unlimited Hero Power Dragon combo?
Is there any reason single card decks are called "highlander" decks, that I don't understand as a non native speaker?
There's a film called "Highlander" with the tagline "There can be only one", which is also the requirement for highlander decks

I think my final reading of this deck is: It's better than regular quest shaman... when you draw Zephrys... and when it's not against aggro, or murloc bullshit...
Replacement for Barista?
i tried it many times and at least for me barista isnt needed bc you already got enough value so i replaced her for a storm chaser wich is really really good against aggro and midrange to reliably get out scheme and earthquake
@@mcsimon1947 Barista doesn't only offer mad value, but also the chance of generating enough Kobold Lackeys to kill a warrior.

Its too slow for me. Really need to rely on early game draws. The faster you have your quest done the easy itll be. Aggro is a tough match up.

I don't get Trump's logic. His deck is winning and the reason he said he would lose the mirror is because they have better cards but the thing that he sacrificed those better cards for, Zephyrs, delivered him the win. I understand you shouldn't judge things retroactively on the results but if a deck is winning then it seems premature to retire it because it's not good enough. Just keep playing and let the win rate speak for itself.

Made so many mistakes in that druid matchup

He is correct though. The normal 2-of quest Shaman is objectively better. He just happened to come out on top this time. Out of several matchups against the mirror he would have a losing record. I only know this because I am maining the 2-of quest Shaman and and I am currently running a 10-5 win rate against this 1-of version.

@@Gabriel-ij2tx That card is the most creative and exciting card I've ever seen in Hearthstone. It also has a deck building restriction. Don't boo it because it's really good.
@@Gabriel-ij2tx There is no way to cheat in this game. He used the tools available to him to get the desired outcome. It is then the opponent's responsibility to challenge back. That didn't happen here so the opponent lost.

Trump should stop hero powering in the Quest Shaman mirror.
-You give your opponent more minions for Mogu Fleshshaper and for MCT. The totems do not do anything. Only scenario they help in is Zephtys into Bloodlust. Which is not often and not gonna happen early game.
he got value from spd totem, and healing totem was in work all the game, I'm too lazy to count if it did matter but the fact is the fact.
@@rorre1650 really? He got value from SPD totem in this specific game. That deck runs 0 spells that do damage. You can only get spells from discovers which are also very scarce in the decks and not to mention only some of the spells do damage. So SPD totem is a 0/2 body almost ALWAYS. For the healing totem it is also a 0/2, even in decks that have higher health minions. In Quest Shaman is essentially terrible as most of your cards are low health. I would rather not get benefit 1/4 of the time(1/1 totem), than give to give my opponent a 1 mana discount on one of his minions( this adds up as Trump had 3 totems at some moments that game) and upgrade his 3 mana 3/3 to 3 mana 3/3 MIND CONTROL A MINION(assuming he steals one totem and one real minion which is likely).
it also gives himself more minion to play Mogu Fleshshaper
@@CL-jq1xs He already player Mogu that game and he only has 1 copy, while the opponent has 2 copies.
