    In this video we take a look at Brandy's (Mrs. IV8888) custom Robar Hi Power. This handgun is nothing short of amazing and the work was actually done by a very talented female gunsmith at Robar. We need to keep this a secret so don't tell anyone we took her gun out for a video, ok? Stay tuned, much more on the way as always.

    Everything is mainly hitting left... do Brandy a favor and tap the back sight a little, unless she is a left hand shooter... Then it may be centered well. I noticed a bit of a difference going both hands on my every day... right hand was more left and left was centered. I'm a south paw. Experiment a little guys. I am not trying to criticize a Browning Hi Power or the fine people at Robar, but I don't understand why the beavertail on a Hi Power looks the way that it does. Just my opinion, but they look like they are too low and too long. The pistols done by Nighthawk are the same way. I wish that somebody could/would make them more like the beavertail on a 1911. Not too long and a little bit of an upsweep.

    Had a browning 9mm high power in iraq for a couple of months before it got replaced by the sig p226 british army now using glock 17 however out of those 3 pistols i still prefer the browning every time p.s you americans a really lucky what you can have over the pond i got a uk firearms lieance but we just cant have what you boys have god i be even happy to have your californa gun laws

    • @pinkiewerewolf
      @pinkiewerewolf 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That is high praise because those are three great pistols. I had a P226 and the only reason I traded it for an older German made P220 was all the safety "stuff" that California made Sig put on the newer Ca models.

    • @michaellissow543
      @michaellissow543 7 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Wow! That's saying a lot about your gun laws. I live in Cali, can't stand the unconstitutional restrictions. The people voting for more gun restrictions have no idea what they're getting into. They're willing to throw away their hard earned freedoms, earned at the expense of others lives, to have some preconceived notion that they'll be safer, but what they're actually doing is enslaving themselves to, and ensuring a tyrannical government, to which they will neither be safe (r) or free!! You get it. These dummies live here and are oblivious.

What the refinished pistol has become is more tactile and useful under many climactic conditions, and is made MORE accurate by the application of texturizing copolymers!! I love you, baby!

    A life line for the British Army over the procieeding years (60s 70s 80s etc) sadly replaced by a peice of resin. But BUYING the glock from the American factory forfills the NATO agreement for a member nation to spend x of its country's worth otherwise use pulls out of said agreement. There's only 4 doing this with the UK being one. The use has recently told the others to get their act together. As for the high power it served Nazi Germany well once Belgium was captured funny how that's left out of the movies as the Nazis carry Lugers.

    P35 Browning is the quintessential 9 mm. And can actually be, and has been, chambered in 40 Smith and 357 Sig. The only firearm comes even close to its durability is the CZ.

    I had a hi power for many years as my PPW, Personal Protection Weapon, I liked shooting but always thought it a bit big, when ever I got the chance to swap it out for my dad's Walter PP, 380, I took it instead, just to keep a bit more of a low profile, I didn't want to advertise that I was an off duty soldier, sum might get stupid ideas about taking me out, it was still the troubles and i was in my late teens and a part timer in the RIR, anyway back to the 9mill, I only got rid of mine about 3 years ago, I didn't have to because of legal reasons or anything like that, sum think that in the UK handguns r illegal, not quite true, in northern Ireland, with the right license we can have almost as much as u guys in the US can, I know guys who have .50 deserts eagle and AR15s and FN FALs. I have had 4 different types of handguns over the years legally, and I have never had a firearms license, because I am an ex member of the security forces, the only reason I handed them in, is because my mother and my wife hated them in the house, and since the troubles kinda stopped I didn't need them anymore, but i should have kept the Browning, I could shoot that thing like nothing other.

    Do you really need a kit or a gunsmith to disable the mag safety? One great thing about my low-point or uh, whats it called? hi power? No, hi point! Is that the magazine saftey comes out in 2 minutes with a screwdriver.

    I dunno... For me, a Hi Power looks best in its original form. Don't mess with everything.

    Does any company make an affordable Hi Power? The new Browning's far exceed my budget. I've seen some surplus models come about but they seem to be low volume and are gone before I find out about them.

    From the bottom of description most people don't see.
    "FTC- This video contains a paid product placement in a syndicated professional video production; all opinions are our own and are neither approved nor disapproved by the advertiser."
    Take what they're saying with a grain of salt.

    Mec Gar makes the factory mags for almost (key word almost) every European gun maker. Beretta, Sig, and CZ, just to name a few.

    For decades the h/p was the gold standard of pistols. I prefer the mag. disconnect as it gives you the option to make the gun safe from your kids & others by just removing the mag. The modifications are endless, but the most important is the trigger. Truly a classis that refuses to die.

    That's a great addition.. the extended hammer protector at the top of the grip. Little girly maybe, but after a couple hundred rounds in my HP, I'm all chewed up on my hand.

    id love to see some old WWII pistols. maybe a comparison between a few different countries' pistols. id be really happy if it included a viz.35.

    I know that feel with fucking up the operation of a gun by how you grip it. that was my experience with the glock 42, the place my right thumb wanted to sit was directly on the mag release so every 3 rounds or so the mag would drop.

    This gun fixes the main things I hate about the Browning Hi Power, the hammer and the beaver tail. I always hated Hi Powers because always got hammer and slide bite.

    Lipstick on a pig. Not talking about looks though. There are lighter, just as reliable, higher capacity pistols out there. The hi power was a terrific pistol for its time, which was a long time. But today it should be a collectors piece, there are far better options out there

    Why is it on the last round every time it malfunctioned? Both of you just so happened to 'thumb it' on the last round every time? LoL Thats the gun, not your grip

    Does Robar still have the best after-market finishes? Who are their competitors in that area? Looking to have a couple pistols refinished.
