I am excited for the basket design and pattern to come. I have not used rivets yet. I am one of your newbies but I am coming along. Started with your side laced bag. Learning to stitch. This bag will be the perfect little yarn basket for my small knit projects like socks. Thank you for taking the time to create projects even I can do. Thank you!
Over the 30+ years of knowing Bernie Samson at Samson harness shop. I’ve watched him on many occasions make rein rounds . Where they are perfectly round . But he also has the tools and fifty years of experience too .
The bag is really nice, and the handle is really nice, but I couldn't help but also notice how cool your hole punch pliers were! Like a rotary punch without the rotor.
You will have the seem edge digging into your fingers if this is weighted down with things. I would mount it the other direction. Have you carried this and what was your experience?
This is a great idea, and video as always. Is there a reason you didn't make the handle 'upside down' so the seam faces up? I would think this lead to a more comfy feel as the pressure on your hand is distributed by the round surface instead of the seam.
Me too‼️Maybe show a decorative over stitch? No criticism here, the most leather work I’ve done is relegated to knife sheath, repairing popped stitches, etc.
I honestly love the look of the rivets. And personally, I'm horrible at stitching so rivets are a much better option for me since it will be my sturdy than my stitching would be lol
I love your work and would like a more "talking at the camera" video on design decisions. Perhaps you could showcase some features of your work and talk about why you made specific decisions. I'm try to make my own design for a leather bag and would love to hear more about how you decide what features your own designs should or shouldn't have. How can you tell if your bag is over or under designed (if that makes sense)? How much of the process is done with prototyping and how much of it is just your vision of what the bag or wallet could be?
I love the look-I wonder if the seam on the handles facing down would hurt with weight in the bag? Do bags usually put the seams upwards? Is there even a way to do that and incorporate your genius design?
Thank you for showing me your technique. You're so talented.
Lovely little tote, when is the pattern coming out for it, tho? ❤

Yes love this handle type
The rivets look great
Thanks for simplifying a new style of rolled handle. I'm going to give it a try. Thanks again pal.
Thanks so much! I appreciate the cool way you de-mystify some aspects of the craft and make it tangible for rubes like myself!!
I really like the handle and the bag. Great tutorial.

Thanks for sharing.
So, so, SO BEAUTIFUL
Love this handle idea. This looks a lot easier to make! 😃 thank you so much!
P.S Love your videos. Keep ‘em coming! 🙏🏼

CS Osborne punch pliers. They rock. Come in various sizes. The tubes can be sharpened or replaced.
Thank you

The rivets are IN my brother. Just my style. Absorbing all your knowledge for the day i start this craft

came to ask this very question

Great video. Where do you get your leather lace?

What MM is that round lace? I'm not seeing it on the materials list...Thanks
Loved this video! I‘ve done a few bags and I have a question. Is there anyway to hide the rivets for a cleaner look!
I would suggest paint/dye, or rivets that match the color of leather perhaps
@ thanks Zack! Where do you get your rivets? What colour do you think goes well with browns?
Where do you get your leather lacing? I don’t see it in the Buckleguy list link…
