Make your own projects. There is no use in just learning some coding language. You need a proof that you know something. So start making your projects. And at least do an internship in your 3rd year. I'm saying this in my own experience, All the best for your future.
it's never too late i am 2019-2023 batch wasted first 2 years of my college completely (1 .5 online because of covid), was playing games 24/7 zero techincal skills that were required to crack an interview when i entered 3rd year got serious about placements when i came to 3rd year first thing i did is research (about different jobs and skills required to get it) and made an roadmap (very important) if you cant create your own you can follow any youtuber's i will share my road map -> learn a programming language( i selected c++ because i had a course and i was comfortable with it, so choose a language which u are comfortable, so try everything first before choosing one), but i prefer java(many openings) or python, c++ also is good for a fresher in campus placements. ->next is dsa(take a course in yt or gfg or anything), dsa is very important ->after learning basics or dsa to apply it solve problems (in leetcode or hackerrank) i chose leetcode ->maintain a strike in leetcode, solve atleast one new problem daily, while doing this after some point you will get proficient in that coding language also have good problem solving skills -> there are 75 questions called blind 75, which you have to solve for sure, because its the most commonly asked interview question, once you solve it you have idea about almost any question you see (refer neetcode.io website) ->please dont neglect aptitude, i did this mistake ,companies use this round to filterout like 90% people , so competition is too high, i have missed so many good companies because i was weak at apti. ->once you cleared apti/first round your chances of getting the job increases massively ->in technical interview you should have something unique to differentiate yourself from others like certifications or projects or internships ->so do a good project like an website if you are trying for fullstack role, you can explain how you did it to impress the interviewer. -> once you have done all these you are ready, should be confident in your skills thats the key. ->along with thse you should learn networking(atleast basics), operating systems(for core companies),dbms-sql your friends may got already placed , and you still havent, you may also think some people in your class got too lucky he/she got the job and he doesnt deserve that because you are better than him, these shit happens almost all my friends/classmates got placed i didnt get placed for like 3 months since the placements cycle has started , got very depressed. but you have to wait for your time, have to belive everything is happening for a reason and good things happen for those people you wait i got lucky got placed, yes lucky because i was expecting a much lesser package but got a good pay and good company yes luck factor is very important, i was unlucky for 3 months but if i has lost the hope and stopped preparing i couldnt have got this job. i dont know if anyone is gonna read this fully, but you have come this far i would like to tell you if an idiot like me can do it you can too why this comment section i am telling all these things because when i was depressed because i didnt get any job i had to look back where i went wrong so a year back i was watching this akka's video for tips which helped a lot that time,now i just have to say thankyou @curious freaks💕💕 and pass on my knowledge and experince to juniors
