TASBot Tetris triple treat! 3 Tetromino tricks to tempt Twitch to tithe $25,000 toward treatment

- TASBot plays NES Tetris Mode B, Max Score, and Playaround by Baxter and Acmlm at SGDQ 2019 benefiting Doctors Without Borders - Over $25k was raised in this 10 minute Tetris segment alone!
During SGDQ 2019, three separate TAS's of NES Tetris were shown, including:

GDQ set the donation incentive to $175k to see the TAS of Celeste which was on the schedule for the end of the TAS block started by this Tetris segment and viewers responded resoundingly, filling the donation incentive with plenty of time to spare in part by donating heavily during the Tetris segment.

If you manipulate the lines wrap-around properly, you can get a full line to stay on the screen, i'd love to see a TAS of the full board being full lines.

wait why did the L-blocks cause four line clears? i feel like that wasn't explained at all
There's apparently a buffer-overflow bug in Tetris, at least that's what they said.
I assume what's happening is the program sees the top 3 levels of valid line-clears, and then tries to check for a fourth, there isn't a fourth line to check, so it fails-positive (aka failing in the "yes they got a tetris" position), causing it to delete 4 rows.
Because it's deleting them from the bottom up, it grabs the top 3 as expected, and then wraps around to the beginning and deletes the bottom row of the tower.

Why not start on level 19 for the high score speedrun? You get more points for tetrises on 19 than on 18.
EebstertheGreat maybe the additional points isn’t worth the lost time pausing more often due to the increased speed.
@@geekerandy8773 I guess at level 18, you can also just stop holding down in many cases instead of pausing, which costs less time.
At least in the CTWC, you have level 18 starts. Maybe they took their rules
