    This advice is so good! I did some dealing from the 1.1 to get to 1.6 AND 2.7 giving up my 6.12! So I’m liking this as a potential start to my draft next weekend:
    1.6 - Diggs (obvious downgrade from JJ)
    2.7 - Best RB (Saquon, JT?)
    2.12 - Best WR (Higgins, Ridley?)
    3.1 - Allen stack!
    4.12 - Best WR
    5.1 - Best TE
    7.1 - Best WR
    8.12+ - Start hammering RBs
    Basically converts a 6th round RB dead zone pick into a 2nd round RB while only giving up the difference from JJ (21.7 PPR ppg) to Diggs (18.9 PPR ppg). 🤓

    Also if you are in a home league, learn you league members. I know a few guys that love to go RB heavy, I know others that follow the ADP to the book. Always get “your guy” if you feel he will be gone cuz ADP is a good guide but if you are confident on a guy don’t risk him saying I hope he will be there in 9 more picks.

      Very true. I’m in a league with a bunch of guys I went to high school with (fantasy football has kept us together) and we do auction draft and it’s fascinating how each guy has such a different strategy. Some guys spend big on studs early, some guys are balanced, some guys just wait and get absolute steals, and my Jewish friend always saves his money so much he has extra😂

    Also understand some leagues have roster requirements and limitations where teams can only carry a certain amount of RBs/WRs. So a second QB or third TE is all you can draft unless you load up on two defenses.

    I feel like the RB deadzone stat you can't take at face value especially as the pre-season wraps up. In rounds 4-5 there are RBs such as Dalvin Cook, Alvin Kamara, and Javonte Williams. Some of these players have been slowly creeping from round 6 and up to 4/5 as we approach the season. Javonte is not on PUP and he will play the next preseason game. If he looks good I can't see how a Sean Payton RB is not attractive. Especially for late draft pickers (like someone 11/12 in a 12 man league). If you are in a situation where your leaguemates go heavy RB in the first round and are basically forced to draft BAP and go WR/WR I don't think the value at RB in those rounds is bad this year.

    Dude, these nerdy numbers supporting the idea to draft other teams’ handcuffs are why I’m subscribed to your channel. I won my league two seasons back precisely because I had my handcuffs and I’ve been pretty stubborn about it ever since. You’ve switched my way of thinking because until those players get hurt, you’re just eating a roster spot. If your bets on other handcuffs pay off, it’s time to cash in.

    If youre someone that likes to trade and in a league where trades are easy to get done i disagree with not taking a flier on a high upside QB2. Reason is if it hits its an extremely useful and easy to use trade chip to a team with either a QB injury or underperforming QB. Its very easy to make those deals compared to others in my experience as well.

    • @FantasyStockExchange
      @FantasyStockExchange  ปีที่แล้ว

      High upside QB2s weren’t really the archetypes I was referring to, probably should’ve specified that I meant like taking a “backup QB”

    • @chrislo2007
      @chrislo2007 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can say that about any bench player for any role. QB is usually the hardest to trade unless you are willing to trade your top tier QB because you are comfortable with your late round/waiver QB. Most people rather just take a wavier QB or hope that you drop your backup QB when you are hit by the bye week.

  • @XNeyNeyproductionsX
    @XNeyNeyproductionsX ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Only thing I don’t agree with is the defense thing, defense can easily lose you points you want a good defense. Don’t waste an early pick on one. But grabbing one around 10-15 is not a bad move. I’ll take a team that will be played every week averaging around 10 points a week vs someone that will probably be on my bench majority of the season. Other then a flex play or if someone is hurt/bye week

    • @FantasyStockExchange
      @FantasyStockExchange  ปีที่แล้ว

      Defensive turnover year to year is so high, just gimme the cheapest good option - obviously I’m not saying pick a shit defense, just pick one that’s cheaper than the top ones

    • @18jeepsrt74
      @18jeepsrt74 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree... and often times when a defense goes.. other guys follow suit and you dont lose much by doing so... many say to stream a defense but when 5 or 6 guys in the league are also tryin to do that... it doesnt work out too well.. most of the time a defense scoring 10pts a week is better than that 13th round handcuff

    • @andrewbracht7939
      @andrewbracht7939 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you’re in a home league, you can just spend your last two picks on the best week 1 and week 2 DST matchups left on the board. Then you swap your week 1 DST for the best week 3 matchup on Sunday morning headed into week 2 and you just rinse and repeat this strategy all season. You’re always one step ahead of your league this way and getting the best streaming DST each week - and getting them for cheap FAAB if you play that format - or not burning your waiver priority to get that DST.

    • @18jeepsrt74
      @18jeepsrt74 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@andrewbracht7939 well this depends on waivers and whether half your league is trying to do it too... id just rather have a good defense say 13th round rather than draft a number 3 handcuff.. i wouldnt say draft them early but with 12 teams holding at least 1 defense... your options every week may be slim

  • @dada191

    I agree with most of these points. But I'm in a 16 team league, and there's nothing better then RB insurance/ handcuff. In a 16 team league, if using the no handcuffs and you lose your top RB. Your season is essentially over. Especially the later in the year it happens. I know the 16 team league is rare, but I've been doing it for years and the strategy is quite different.

  • @docsoftball6250
    @docsoftball6250 ปีที่แล้ว

    I never understood why people would want to Draft their own handcuff at RB especially in a league that trades both players and future draft picks. Yeah, it sucks if your #1 RB goes down, but I don't think it really helps all that much to have his backup. Great Point made.

    I drafted Deshaun Watson in the 9th round of a 10 man league then took Cousins at the end of the draft in case Watson has a repeat down year. While I do believe Watson has a chance to be a top 5 QB this year and I'm betting on that, I want that safety blanket of a solid consistent player like Cousins. In another league I took Mark Andrews at the end of the 3rd and got Njoku at a good value in the 11th round. If Andrews goes down with an injury again then I don't have to worry about streaming crap TE off waivers. In both these leagues I already had strong depth at RB and WR.

Even if Warren gets a little more of the workload, Najee should be able to make up for it being in a more efficient offense. I actually see the RB14 finish he had last year as his floor.

You say he’s completely reliant on workload, and in previous years I would agree. But wouldn’t it be fair to say the only reason that was the case was because of the poor oline play and having next to no consistent passing game? It’s hard to be efficient when the offense as a whole is inefficient. I feel like things can really only get better efficiency wise

    Overall I think there's some decent advice here but overall have 2 major disagreements. Disagree with waiting on defense, optimal position is middle of bench. Get a top rated one before anyone else. At this point the likelihood of anyone you're picking being all that great is low anyway. Also I do not agree with the handcuff thoughts. You have no idea who's going to be hurt, might as well have some insurance, can always drop them if need be. The logic you're using would be the same as saying do not pair a qb and wr of the same team because you want to stop your opponents from doing that. A strategy to screw someone else limits your upside, and is a dart throw.

    • @FantasyStockExchange
      @FantasyStockExchange  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s not a strategy to screw someone else at all, you completely missed the point - the point was to not second guess or play it safe with your own early round RB and instead take an upside swing

    • @andrewgeddes8904
      @andrewgeddes8904 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your not gaining anything by holding a handcuff to one of your elite rbs. If your top pick rb goes down, that handcuff will not replace the points you just lost. If they don't go down, you waste a bench spot for the majority of the year for a guy you will literally never start. However, if you draft someone else's handcuff with a late pick and it hits, you're instantly adding value to your team. It's not a hard concept to grasp. Playing safe will never give you a winning edge.

      I’ve been in leagues for a few years now , drafted Priest Holmes RB KC in the first round ! Picked up Larry Johnson as the handcuff in later rounds knowing Priest had a tendency for injury . Sure enough Priest went down and Larry Johnson carried me to a Championship ! Grab the handcuff to the injury prone STUD RB’s like CMC etc.. whether that RB is on your team or someone else’s !

  • @CraigCooper-kb5tb
    @CraigCooper-kb5tb ปีที่แล้ว

    I disagree. I have been playing FFB for many years. I am usually in the championship. I try to take a very good QB to stash on my bench to trade later to a team that is desperate after injury or another reason. Then I turn that pick into a player that was drafted in the first 5 rounds. It has usually worked in my favor.

    I like how the guy that doesn't play in leagues with Kickers and Defenses tries to tell you to wait until the last round to pick one. Losing Strategy for sure. Kickers that you want aren't just the good offenses. You want the team that will move the ball but have trouble actually scoring the TD. Dallas last year. 49ers when they had Alex Smith at QB is one of the best examples. Defense, you want good units with an easy schedule. Cowboys last year had a very easy schedule last year and they were a good unit. In most scoring setups they were 4th scoring Defense. Patriots are usually a good pick but them finishing as the #1 Defense last year was on large burst points against bad teams or teams missing their starting QB. The Defense I like the most at their ADP this year is the Saints. Play in a bad division and have a pretty good defensive unit. Tired of hearing all these Underdog Fantasy shills talk about how playing without Defense and Kicker is somehow better. No if you wait to stream a Defense and are having to spend 10 FAB a week to get the top streaming option you are promoting a losing strategy. If you don't play with a FA budget wavier wire then maybe it isn't a horrible option. Although that definitely sound like a league that isn't serious or isn't playing for money. I've played Fantasy Football since the 2003 and Good Defensive scoring isn't the standard setting on any site I've seen. To summarize, I don't agree with these fantasy "pros" saying to ditch Defense and Kickers. They aren't putting in the time to study who are the best options and are probably losing to people that do. Saying that they got lucky with their Defense pick. I had 49ers or Cowboys Defense in every league I played in last year. I was not the first to pick a Defense or second for that matter. I picked the best Defense at their ADP, just like you should in your drafts. Don't wait until the last round or stream defenses.

This move saved my season and I won my Draft kings 12 man league because of moves like this.
