      how did you build your bankroll? i play online and with friends for fun, sometimes at a local casino small tournaments for like 30-50 bucks but would really love to play 1/2 or 2/5 although i dont want to "invest" like 10 buyins for 1/2 or 2/5 and then calling it off after losing everything in a unlucky downswing

      Thanks for the opportunity Lex, (I happen to reside about 3hr north of you, Brevard county) and been playing over 10yrs on free rolls online, (probably a million hands) and the adjustment live is Definitely Different than what I expected..
      but what's our options when or if your on your 11th hr grind and the latter half is 4-6 hrs in a tournament and you happen to have one dealer that seems to have beef with you (personally) and you've never seen this guy before.. is there a line they have to cross to make a complaint legit? Thanks 👍
      Thanks.

    Your take on show one show all is interesting. I'm not sure why you showed someone not in the hand and not the whole table. I guess I'd be the jerk who beckoned, "show one, show all!" I'm a 1/3 player, so that likely has something to do with it. But if you're going to give information about what hands you're playing, I wanna know.
    Awesome vlog - glad you got green light on filming. I'm getting a lot of thought process from your content. Great stuff!

  • @jfejapan2829

    One of the few times I've disagreed with your 'read' on something: It's really not petty when a player asks to see a hand that you showed to your neighbor. That's information that only one person is getting, and if I'm at the table, I'll probably ask to see it too, whether I was in the hand or not.

    • @dawsonje
      @dawsonje 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Show one/show all is very situational dependent. Normally it’s considered poor form in the mid/higher stakes to ask to see the hand, UNLESS it was a major pot or weird action. In this particular case it probably wasn’t warranted to ask to see the hand as the pot/action was not relevant. My guess is that the player that asked to see the hand is the typical hardcore grinder who must take every angle at all times.. often they can take the fun out of the game

    Show one, show all is a common courtesy rule that’s implemented everywhere, I believe. Think about it: assuming you stayed at that table, by showing that one guy, you gave him insight to your playstyle. You can’t be upset with him for that. Next time, don’t show anyone.

    QUESTION: Do you think you're down lifetime making river hero calls at these stakes? Meaning, if you had just folded every bluff catcher categorically, would your lifetime winrate be higher than it is now?

    • @marksimpson2321
      @marksimpson2321 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you have a point. The issue raised by some many players is 'is he bluffing?' But it should be 'is he bluffing too much?'

    • @blakestech7393
      @blakestech7393 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marksimpson2321 Exactly. I'm sure basically everyone who sits down at a poker table is capable of bluffing 5% of the time, but that's never enough to justify bluff catching against any reasonably-sized bet. The question I'm driving at for Lex is: over his sample, is the population at these stakes underbluffing rivers, and (barring any specific reads), does he think it would be +EV to simplify his strategy by folding all bluff catchers? I mean, you can count combos all day, and recognize that someone's repping a narrow value range, but if on average they're just not bluffing enough, it doesn't really matter. They're going to show up with those few value combos too often to justify calling.

    Did you go yesterday Sunday for the $5K high hand? I thought I saw you last night. Is $400 enough buy in a 2-5 NL since the max is 1k at the hardrock? I've been playing 1-2 and sometimes 1-3 and really wanted to try 2-5 but don't want to lose that much on a 2-5 game.
    Also, I played 1-2 at Coconut Creek for the first time and was up almost $500 and got coolered in one hand, and got tight specially when a 2-5 player sat down in the table commenting the 1-2 game had more action than the 2-5 game he was that broke. Do 2-5 players mostly bluff and bully in a 1-2 game? If I have less chips, I'll be happy to bluff catch them but afraid to go heads up for all my chips if I'm up $300 or more.

    At the pocket 7s hand why not check shoving flop? There are many bad turn cards for you and for him :) I don't think people would fold there with AA, AK or even KQs. He would definetely fold TT, 99, QQ, JJ and AQ which are rarely put any other money in the next streets. Even though I doubt that he would bet 2/3 in the flop with QQ. In conclusion, I would check shove flop representing easily a hand like KQ of diamonds.

    How do you not see somebody value betting AJ or AQ there? That's one of the worst folds I've seen with Ak on the river. You got absolutely owned. He has no reason to think his AJ isnt good there. You've been C betting very frequently and his check on the turn as well severly under reps his hand. Ill never understand that fold. No flush draws, no straight draws, only legitimate possible 2 pair is A10, A3Suited, or 910suited, and I think 2 pair check raises the turn 99 out of 100 times. Wheb he leads on the river you're literally only putting him on A3 you say as he checked flop and turn and wouldnt bet 1 pair holdings after being led into twice. If you're putting your opponent on only 1 hand thatll beat you why the hell do you fold lmao
