- This is the fourth of five videos in a series where I document my experience on one of Peru's most traditional treks: the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu.
In total, we covered 81 kilometers through the Andes Mountains to the lost city of Machu Picchu.
The name of this series is: Road to Machu Picchu: Salkantay Trek.
Day 01: Acclimatization hike. Distance: 12.49 km. Altitude: 4,200 meters.
Day 02: Conquering Salkantay Pass. Distance: 22.53 km. Altitude: 4,634 meters.
Day 03: Recovery hike. Distance: 14.55 km. Altitude: 2,950 meters.
Day 04: Ironman. Distance: 32.09 km. Altitude: 2,800-2,040 meters.
Day 05: The icing on the cake. Altitude: 2,430 meters.
It was my first experience at high altitude, and it was incredibly challenging. I hope you enjoy the footage!
