I hear the train a comin' It's rolling round the bend And I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't know when, I'm stuck in Folsom prison, and time keeps draggin' on But that train keeps a rollin' on down to San Antone.. When I was just a baby my mama told me. Son, Always be a good boy, don't ever play with guns. But I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die When I hear that whistle blowing, I hang my head and cry.. I bet there's rich folks eating in a fancy dining car They're probably drinkin' coffee and smoking big cigars. Well I know I had it coming, I know I can't be free But those people keep a movin' And that's what tortures me... Well if they freed me from this prison, If that railroad train was mine I bet I'd move it on a little farther down the line Far from Folsom prison, that's where I want to stay And I'd let that lonesome whistle blow my blues away....
Young Mr. Bugg has some "evolving" to do, but he's experimenting successfully with a lot of my personal favorites. I certainly like what he is and hope he goes a lot further. That being said, I have my doubts that he really knows the difference between the whistle of a train and a horn on modern trains like Johnny Cash does, nor do I think he has the same thoughts about prison as Johnny Cash does, but its through the music that he'll really learn about Cash, Dylan, and many of the others who he emulates (well). Give him a chance and some real support, and he may may continue his meteoric rise to stardom - I hope.
he can hit notes, he's singing a different version. If you don't believe he can hit notes please look up his other songs. Especially the live versions, because they are amazing. He is amazing and this cover is lovely
He is certainly having a go at it and seems to be having fun too. I suspect Mister Jake himself would say he has a long road ahead. He certainly has a fine start.
hmmm.. the kid is a folk player that himself after Bob Dylan and Donovan and does a terrific job and producing a similar style music. Mr. Cash adored Dylan's music to where he would cover Dylan songs regularly and made a point to perform with him. If Johnny were alive today, he would have absolutely loved this kid. By the way, country/ Appalachian music was brought over to the states from the U.K. It's more the music of Jake Bugg's heritage than it ever was Johnny Cash's.
I love how u people are getting so offensive lol all I said was I dislike him and we could of left it at that but nooo people are so dumb ..but im having fun and some good laughs hahahaha
it happened the same thing to me, I had a picture of an actress and some stupid girl thought that it was mine and she start to insult me hahaaha, there are some people that i looks like they have their heads only for doing hair styles instead of use their heads to think with logic lol
I know the song & it takes courage to cover this one. I think it's bad to compare this boy and Cash for both play in different way and hey, how many 19 yo boy got this taste of music and do it pretty nice

You dont need to have the same vocals of an original song to sing it...He's crazy talented, nothing wrong with appreciating someone else's music.
