Know this is an old comment but this is something I actually really love because culturally ancient Greece was very against the concept of changing your fate, the tale of Orpheus being an example of it. The Fates(the goddesses that is) do not like it when you don't do what they have planned for you. One of the versions of Orpheus is that Eurydice never actually was following him up, it was just an illusion and he was always going to fail, this was used as a tale of why you shouldn't go against fate.
Okay but the use of color, specifically at 1:48 when she turns away from Orpheus and she goes from only having half purple to embracing the fates and becaming fully purple! Thats some nice stuff right there! Great as always :)
Purple is such a great color too. In theatre/dance it literally means “fate”! And whenever “fate” appearances in dances it is to warn a character about a choice that will lead to death. (E.g. the ballet Carmen) Well played, I tip my hat at the cleverness of you.

EXCELLENT as always!! The fates look so eerie and otherworldly! I love that Orpheus is always turned away from Eurydice, and how she alternates between running towards him and being unable to escape him!! It really shows the conflict between her love for him and her cynicism telling her to leave him. The whole hallucination version of Hermes' bar is so cleverly done as well, with that combo of hallucination and reality that leaves you unsure what to trust, just the way Eurydice is feeling.

THIS IS SO COOL aklfklsdjgs there are so many little details I could watch this over and over again and still pick up on something new every time but aaaaaaaa just some of my favorite things??? the rattlesnake coil turning into the jar of coins at the start, the visualization of the fates (!!! i swear someone else commented on another video of urs about ur use of color and there's another comment here about it and lemme just second it here gosh the contrasts just make the details pop like orpheus's bandana and the fates look! SO! SINISTER) and also orpheus only ever being seen from the back and aLSO the part where eurydice's reaching for the coin and gets the hand of hades (deATH if we wanna get symbolic) instead and just the dance she's forced into !!! that with the music break was just *chef's kiss* there's just so much going on in the Best Way Possible every frame fits the music's beat and perfectly captures the struggle going on in eurydice's mind in such a visceral way

Reactions immediate, was it ever a choice at all~? 1:20 - I LOVE How it turns to red the second it was kicked out of her reach. Purple is like the choice color but red? Now red (at least this type of red) is *Hadestown* color baby, she is determined to get that damn coin back. 1:24 - *wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezes* I love it, I love her face so much. And also this person has fingerless gloves and a trenchcoat 10/10 fashion sense 1:30 - He has a teal smile. Who else has a teal smile in this animatic? *looks at the Fates* Coincidence she got caught a second time in a dance? I think NOT! The Fates tryna get her more and more invested in getting that coin which in turn makes her think about Hadestown more, which in turn is gonna sway her decision by a looot. But also Eurydice's fucking frown in this frame XD I LOVE HER 1:33 - SAFE! 1:35 - Uh-oh. They *all* have red scarves. And suddenly the soft red of Orpheus ain't such a safe color anymore...And the frame immediately after that with her running up the stairs and them reaching for her. I love I love I love. 1:37 - Oof They took everything (just like how Orpheus took her heart and is now leaving it to die for his song) 1:41 - *zooms in* OOoo look at that delicious purple on the edges!!! 1:44 - And orpheus is no longer brown. He's colorless. Indicating perhaps how much she feels ignored by him like he's not even there. Even his scarf lost its color 1:46 - We're goin back to thinking like how we used to think before we met Orpheus. Love's a trap yo and right now he ain't making her think otherwise at all. 1:48 - And we're fully purple but oops there's no floor beneath our feet 1:51 - I love that it's not an arrow but a single fuckin scissor blade 1:55 - Syke! The Fates cutting your Life Line was all a dream (totally not just alluding to how we ALMOST died) and totally not a premonition of what's to come what do you mean? The colors, its just so minimal but that's why it works so DAMN WELL. We're still purple and everything else is red and we're hiding behind a...chimney? Maybe some kind of pillar but it's definitely a factory type of pillar and what place else has factories~ Next frame answers my rhetorical question with a lovely shot of flashback Hades giving Eurydice her coat. I love that WAIT WAIT I JUST REALIZED! The darkness at the edges isn't darkness or shadows or whatever it's probably FUCKING DEAD TREES AND BRANCHES CAUSE IT'S W I N T E R *facepalms* 2:12 - Their hands, the nails, they look like BIRDS' claws. Vultures, murder of birds, birds of prey you name it. We're circling back to the beginning~ 2:16 - OOOF that sequence with the heart and the scissors just. The Fates are very persuasive, Eurydice can no longer even remotely ignore what they're tellin' her 2:21 - *SLAPS DESK* I LOVE!! CARDS! We were JUST at a casino or something! Cards!! Gambling, King of Diamons (ahhh call back to the SONGS I LOVE I LOVE SO MUCH and "nobody's rightous"), Queen of Clubs (cause she drinks and goes partying all the damn time and she's holding a fkin bottle of alcohol i can't and "nobody's proud") and Jack of Hearts ("nobody's innocent" also the fact the string snaps right at "innocent" tickles my funny bone. I love timing!) and they're all connected by the thread of Fates and Eurydice is the Ace of Spades. The Ace of the Fates, the one who will make everything else go into motion~ 2:26 - 2:29 - I love this sequence so much, the tension and we'RE RUNNING THROUGH THE FOREST AND THEY'RE GRINNING AND SHE'S TRIPPIN' AND THE LIFE LINE IS CUTTING, THE FATES ARE SHRUGGING AT EACH OTHER LIKE "WHAT CAN YA DO" AND WE'RE-! 2:30 - *breathes out and takes the pin out* We're back where we started. Falling off a cliff to our death and suddenly that jar is filled to the brim with coins from other shades paying their fees to take the train way down to Hadestown~ PERFECTION, PERFECTION YOUR ANIMATICS !!!! EDIT: ALSO I just realized. The coins are golden. The light when the Fates sing "cast your eyes to Heaven" is also Golden. Golden is like the color of the Gods, that's so *cool.* And Eurydice's heart was golden because of her belief IN those Gods but then that belief got shattered into a million trillion pieces~ (or maybe I'm just overthinking it as I have a tendency to do since coins are made of gold and gold is yellow...BUT STILL)

I love this so much omg!!!! You're super talented, the visual representation of the Fates, the coin, Eurydice's struggle, the art is absolutely perfect, and the color and use of light too. When I first saw the Fates, had a mini heart attack. Also, I'm curious about why the sides of each dice at 0:27 are all 6 except for one 5. I don't even have words for how beautiful this is. And the way that the coin (representation of hope?) is always so bright on screen, ahh! It's really cool that the warm colors like the coin and Orpheus's scarf are what Eurydice starts off reaching for, and the colder colors reach for her. But at 1:35 everyone is in red and Orpheus loses color. And the thread/scissors stuff with the Fates is masterfully done. And the looming shadow at 2:04! Also the "cast your eyes to heaven, you get a knife in the back" art was exceptional. The combination of colour, and how you represent the strings of fate around the red/yellow heart (which if red represents Orpheus and yellow hope it's like they're fighting for control over her heart? Then the fates winning instead of either! I might be reading into this too much lol). And I love what you did with the cards. Seriously, hot damn. The entire animatic is straight up stunning

Not only does the Ace of Spades traditionally symbolize death and bad luck, but the Ace of Swords, the tarot equivalent, can mean "a new idea or breakthrough is emerging from within you...you may also seek greater clarity about whether this is an idea you wish to pursue more fully, perhaps because you are unsure if it will bring the results you truly desire." according to biddytarot.com, a resource I use pretty often for this stuff. It's just perfect for this whole animatic, which is really cool.

I never understood why the Fates acted that way with Euridice. Like, what were they trying to say with lines like "Take what you can, give if you must." and "got no body but yourself to trust when the chips are down". What's the meaning of those lines? Are they trying to discourage her from trusting Orpheus so she's more convinced to go to Hadestown? Lovely work btw, I think you did great.

0:50 - And suddenly everything is purple. Nothing else brown in sight, can't even trust the furniture in this goddamn place. Or better yet, we're so absorbed in our head that we don't notice anything else but that shiny gold *enticing* coin that we were totally about to trade for some food not even 10 seconds ago~
0:52 - Such a pretty coin! And yes the lines that circle it look like traintracks and no you can't change my mind on that. And I like how we switched to the snow outside and the darkness in the corners (that maybe signify Hades himself? or maybe his jacket that he gave her) flashbacks ahoy she's thinkin' about it but she's still brown so ay we haven't made a choice just yet~
0:54 - Oh flash of red! Orpheus! She looks so hopeful god SHE'S SO PRECIOUS AND SMOL
0:56 - She looks so offended by one of the Fates cutting Orpheus's poster in half with a scissor *wheezes* She's like "goddamn let me look at/talk to my hubby!"

1:16 - Ah shit it got kicked! Reactions immediate, was it ever a choice at all~?
1:20 - I LOVE How it turns to red the second it was kicked out of her reach. Purple is like the choice color but red? Now red (at least this type of red) is *Hadestown* color baby, she is determined to get that damn coin back.
1:24 - *wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezes* I love it, I love her face so much. And also this person has fingerless gloves and a trenchcoat 10/10 fashion sense
1:30 - He has a teal smile. Who else has a teal smile in this animatic? *looks at the Fates* Coincidence she got caught a second time in a dance? I think NOT! The Fates tryna get her more and more invested in getting that coin which in turn makes her think about Hadestown more, which in turn is gonna sway her decision by a looot. But also Eurydice's fucking frown in this frame XD I LOVE HER
1:33 - SAFE!
1:35 - Uh-oh. They *all* have red scarves. And suddenly the soft red of Orpheus ain't such a safe color anymore...And the frame immediately after that with her running up the stairs and them reaching for her. I love I love I love.
1:37 - Oof They took everything (just like how Orpheus took her heart and is now leaving it to die for his song)
1:41 - *zooms in* OOoo look at that delicious purple on the edges!!!
1:44 - And orpheus is no longer brown. He's colorless. Indicating perhaps how much she feels ignored by him like he's not even there. Even his scarf lost its color
1:46 - We're goin back to thinking like how we used to think before we met Orpheus. Love's a trap yo and right now he ain't making her think otherwise at all.
1:48 - And we're fully purple but oops there's no floor beneath our feet
1:51 - I love that it's not an arrow but a single fuckin scissor blade
1:55 - Syke! The Fates cutting your Life Line was all a dream (totally not just alluding to how we ALMOST died) and totally not a premonition of what's to come what do you mean? But us falling was definitely not just a scare as we wake up on top of a hay stack, thank god it was there. Thank you assassin's creed.
2:01 - God I love your animatics have I mentioned that yet? The colors, its just so minimal but that's why it works so DAMN WELL. We're still purple and everything else is red and we're hiding behind a...chimney? Maybe some kind of pillar but it's definitely a factory type of pillar and what place else has factories~ Next frame answers my rhetorical question with a lovely shot of flashback Hades giving Eurydice her coat. I love that WAIT WAIT I JUST REALIZED! The darkness at the edges isn't darkness or shadows or whatever it's probably FUCKING DEAD TREES AND BRANCHES CAUSE IT'S W I N T E R *facepalms*
2:12 - Their hands, the nails, they look like BIRDS' claws. Vultures, murder of birds, birds of prey you name it. We're circling back to the beginning~
2:16 - OOOF that sequence with the heart and the scissors just. The Fates are very persuasive, Eurydice can no longer even remotely ignore what they're tellin' her
2:21 - *SLAPS DESK* I LOVE!! CARDS! We were JUST at a casino or something! Cards!! Gambling, King of Diamons (ahhh call back to the SONGS I LOVE I LOVE SO MUCH and "nobody's rightous"), Queen of Clubs (cause she drinks and goes partying all the damn time and she's holding a fkin bottle of alcohol i can't and "nobody's proud") and Jack of Hearts ("nobody's innocent" also the fact the string snaps right at "innocent" tickles my funny bone. I love timing!) and they're all connected by the thread of Fates and Eurydice is the Ace of Spades. The Ace of the Fates, the one who will make everything else go into motion~
2:26 - 2:29 - I love this sequence so much, the tension and we'RE RUNNING THROUGH THE FOREST AND THEY'RE GRINNING AND SHE'S TRIPPIN' AND THE LIFE LINE IS CUTTING, THE FATES ARE SHRUGGING AT EACH OTHER LIKE "WHAT CAN YA DO" AND WE'RE-!
2:30 - *breathes out and takes the pin out* We're back where we started. Falling off a cliff to our death and suddenly that jar is filled to the brim with coins from other shades paying their fees to take the train way down to Hadestown~
PERFECTION, PERFECTION YOUR ANIMATICS !!!!
EDIT: ALSO I just realized. The coins are golden. The light when the Fates sing "cast your eyes to Heaven" is also Golden. Golden is like the color of the Gods, that's so *cool.* And Eurydice's heart was golden because of her belief IN those Gods but then that belief got shattered into a million trillion pieces~ (or maybe I'm just overthinking it as I have a tendency to do since coins are made of gold and gold is yellow...BUT STILL)

I think this is my favorite animatic for any song--it's amazing!
I love this so much omg!!!! You're super talented, the visual representation of the Fates, the coin, Eurydice's struggle, the art is absolutely perfect, and the color and use of light too. When I first saw the Fates, had a mini heart attack. Also, I'm curious about why the sides of each dice at 0:27 are all 6 except for one 5.
I don't even have words for how beautiful this is. And the way that the coin (representation of hope?) is always so bright on screen, ahh! It's really cool that the warm colors like the coin and Orpheus's scarf are what Eurydice starts off reaching for, and the colder colors reach for her. But at 1:35 everyone is in red and Orpheus loses color. And the thread/scissors stuff with the Fates is masterfully done.
And the looming shadow at 2:04! Also the "cast your eyes to heaven, you get a knife in the back" art was exceptional. The combination of colour, and how you represent the strings of fate around the red/yellow heart (which if red represents Orpheus and yellow hope it's like they're fighting for control over her heart? Then the fates winning instead of either! I might be reading into this too much lol). And I love what you did with the cards. Seriously, hot damn. The entire animatic is straight up stunning

Ok ok ok there's a lot of cool stuff here but I'm a tarot kid and the cards representing the others before the Fates present Eurydice with the Ace of Spades? Perfect. Not only does the Ace of Spades traditionally symbolize death and bad luck, but the Ace of Swords, the tarot equivalent, can mean "a new idea or breakthrough is emerging from within you...you may also seek greater clarity about whether this is an idea you wish to pursue more fully, perhaps because you are unsure if it will bring the results you truly desire." according to biddytarot.com, a resource I use pretty often for this stuff. It's just perfect for this whole animatic, which is really cool.

I never understood why the Fates acted that way with Euridice. Like, what were they trying to say with lines like "Take what you can, give if you must." and "got no body but yourself to trust when the chips are down". What's the meaning of those lines? Are they trying to discourage her from trusting Orpheus so she's more convinced to go to Hadestown? Lovely work btw, I think you did great.
The fates are written to show the doubts of the characters.
