The Kamov KA-26 is indeed one of the most beautiful helicopters ever. It was very versatile, there was a personal carrying pod, a crop duster pod, a cargo carrying pod and a sow pod. A few flaws where the original very large gauge display unit in front of the pilot that blocked the forward and downward view to much (later revised). And the two radial engines producing 350 HP max each, where running both at 90% during normal flight, making them unreliable after to much fly hours. For as far as I know they still make this Helicopter, but now with two jet engines. Not as spectacular as with the radials but still nice, heads up for this fine design!
Ivan no need to lie! This helicopter is no longer produced! Because the engines and gearboxes were French from the company "Turbomeca Arrius 2G", and after the Russian attack on Ukraine, you Russians can only buy steam engines!
I adore these Kamov helicopters. There’s nothing else like them. Also, I loved the transition to steam engines halfway through the video, especially the big giant halftrack train tractor thing. I have never seen that before!

No, it has 2 nine cylinder radial gasoline engines, the whining is the turbine fans on the front of the engines that blow air to keep the engines cool.

What makes the turbine-like sound while it's flying? Is it some kind of transmission or gearbox that makes the howling sound?
Cooling fans on the two 9-cylinder radial engines.
aircooling impellers in those radial engines!

Bellissimo ma è un diesel ?? troppo forti i motori russi !
ma no, è un motore radiale benzina! il fumo all'avviamento è normale, deriva dall'olio che penetra nei cilindri inferiori quando il motore è spento
Its a radial engine, the short exhaust and radial design make that noise. No diesel/keronsine
I did put such engine in a microcar.
