You’re right. This next adventure for you IS for all of us. Because unfortunately for most of us we’d never be able to afford a boat like this or be offered a deal like this. So, I’m glad you guys are getting onboard (see what I did there 🤪) and taking us with you. Have fun and we look forward to living vicariously through you.

Sailing, takes me away…here’s a little trivia for you…Nick and I were in the same Chorus class in the 6th grade and Mr. Koss had us warm up to that song every morning for a year! Thanks for your nice comment. ⛵️
It's funny how a little hindsight can make the struggles in life look like "the Plan". The past few years of watching you two trying to find the new Clarity has been painful. I felt your frustration. So now it seems like you guys had to go through all of that just to appreciate this "Gift". While I don't particularly believe in Fate or Karma, something like them do seem to wind their tentacles through our lives if we pay attention. Thank you for keeping us along for the ride.

Sitting in my house in VA just wishing I was sailing a catamaran. Guess I have to learn to sail first. Been watching you guys for a few years now. As always, I enjoyed the show. Thanks.
"We're going to have to raise our game..." Now you know how I felt when the U.S. Government allowed me to fly their aircraft in support of national objectives for 20 years! I had an absolute blast, "comprised of long durations of boredom punctuation by moments of stark raving terror." Actually, it could be better described by about 80% normal ops and 20% not-so-normal ops. From what I've seen on sailing vids, much the same is true.
I can't put a finger to why, but it still feels surreal. I feel like I am waiting for the other shoe to drop even though I am not involved. or, fall apart sneaker might be more apropos ; ) It won't really settle in until the dock lines have been cast and you've been in it for a while. Looking forward to the next chapter.
Fantastic, you have made Outremer, the ultimate company, as You represent as Diplomats of the ultimate cats, you have Been thought by your friends in SAN Diego, What it tales to handle One, so after Clarity, i know you are up to this, from all, love your story, carry on as the Brits say, Love from Norway
Hey Nick and Megan! Congrats on 100k! I was wondering if you'd consider publishing your gear list with pros/cons and why you chose them? Great video, good luck on the Outremer! Courtney and I are looking forward to it. Cheers!
@TheOKellys - The most heartfelt congratulations on finding yourselves in a ‘Big Boat’ performance cruising catamaran! …ON SAFETY… My advice to you (I was a pro sailor/sailmaker, multihull’er for 35 years), when you are doing high teens and low twenties on a close reach or lower to the wind…when you come into a puff (more wind pressure) as the boat starts to load up and accelerate, your first tendency (mono-hull think) might be to head up toward the wind to unload the sails. In a big enough puff this will loose you rudder authority (imagine entering VMC or flat spin in a twin engine aircraft) and turn the boat turtle! Please don’t do that! Lol. Instead turn down away from the wind (performance catamaran think) and burn off the potential energy loading up the sails, rig, and hulls. The result will be increased boat speed and complete rudder authority!! AKA control of the boat. That’s the best big-air advice that I can give you two. There are many an upside-down newbie to perf-cat sailing that may have died for this advise… Happy and safe sailing you O’Kelly’s, you!!! Enjoy the new boat.
we are from Bend Oregon and when he put not he wig all I thought was he will fit in with Portland no problem hahahaha. very interesting about the wig! I must know more
We love Bend! I remember playing with this wig as a kid. My mom says it came from her mother’s grandmother. My needed a wig for a play in the 4th grade and we’ve had it ever since 🤣. It does need a good wash and conditioner!
What’s the over under on how long before you guys order a 52 now that the waiting is not the same kind of problem? I’m thinking a month after you cross the pond.
CONGRATULATIONS surely R in order. My world travel(s) started in th 4th grade...all land and US based until I joined the USAF in Portland, OR...then I drive long haul...then bought a barber shop on River Rd in Eug. OR and finally retired to SweetHome, OR. (
If it makes you feel better I'm younger than you both and can't do that old man test, well I could 2 years ago and it's one of the things that's been frustrating me in my recovery.
Wishing you a full recovery. I’ve done yoga everyday for the past 45 days and it’s been an absolute game changer, especially for the foot I broke 1.5 years ago.
So what happens when you fall in love with the Utramir and can't abide by anything less. I assume this is not a forever gift. You sure hit it right for fall colors in Protland, it doesn't happen like that very often. Good luck in your new adventure. The O'kelly's and the Wynn's could be the race of the century.
Right!?!?!?! We really do try and take it one wave at a time. No way to know where all of this leads exactly, but we have faith the path will unfold exactly the way it should. As for the Wynns....we are on opposite sides of the planet, so we have some distance to make up!
Nice Helly Hansen's! I'm thinking you may be punching out of Europe and crossing the Atlantic, but if you are staying, sounds like there may be some sort of variant on Schengen that allows content creators a longer stay. Have fun on your new adventure.
Hey guys. Investigate the professional crew way, instead of a Schengen visa. This is the way a lot of crew from the Philippines and other places come in and spends unlimited amount of time in Europe. I have met some sailors that have managed to do it this way. Outremer should be able to arrange that.
@@TheOKellysLove your channel, and I'm looking forward to new sailing content! Regarding SanDisk, two points: 1. Your specific drive (SDSSDE81-4T00) has had failures. Someone once bet me that I couldn't do 10 one legged squats. I won $100. I was nineteen and wiry. Now, at 71, I'm happy to be able to stand up from chair. I carried a Domke camera bag daily for over 30 years that had a couple of Nikon bodies and 3 or 4 lenses. It weighed 25-30 lbs and gave me shoulder and back problems. Then I switched to a couple of Canon digital cameras & some lenses that weighed about the same. Since I've gotten a Sony RX-100, I only use the Canons attached to my telescopes for astrophotography. The little Sony is fantastic and is carried in my pocket. My wife and I along with friends went out for dinner and I was wearing a blazer. My friend complimented my blazer and said that it was probably the first time I'd worn it. Then he said, I can tell that because the tags are still stapled to the sleeve.
Ha! Yeh the older we get, the more those rollerboxes and bags take the brunt! Love the little cameras...they do 90% of what any of the big bodies can do. For us, that is often enough.

Wow, what an exciting opportunity for you both! Partnering with Outremer is a game-changer, and I have no doubt that this will be a monumental moment in the sailing industry. Your genuine love for sailing and your captivating content have brought so much joy to your viewers, and I can't wait to see where this adventure takes you. Fair winds and smooth seas await you, and we'll be right here, eagerly following along every step of the way. Cheers to new beginnings and unforgettable experiences! ⛵️😄🌊
You two are such a joy. One of the nicest couple I've never met, but would love to. I wish you well in your next adventure. I, like countless others, will be tuning in for sure! Take care.
I am so happy for you and looking forward to the more upbeat videos from the new boat. It was slightly depressing to see you becoming so frustrated with finding a new boat only to have it fall through at the last minute. The more relaxed faces on both of you is much more reassuring and comforting to me at least. Congratulations and looking forward to the the new videos!
What a great beginning to the next adventure! I think this is a great opportunity to show people how to get to know a boat for the first time. Mind you, this isn’t an ordinary first boat! 🇨🇦. BTW, the trees were fantastic this year, Victoria BC.
My goodness, one for the books! Obviously things change quick in the PNW, and the rains have now arrived! Yeh, this is going to be epic and we hope to show what it is like to make this transition...one question I'd hope to answer is whether or not this WOULD make a good first boat. Cheers!
Im slowly being converted to your way of thinking on Outremers. I want to be able to sail upwind and have daggerboards and it seems like this is the best boat for that compared to a Lagoon/Leopard/Privilege
Light breeze sailing is the best, that is why performance cats were better IMO. Gliding quietly through the water in 5-10 knots of breeze, going as fast as you would with motors, is thee best sailing sailing. No wasting money on diesel, no smell, no noise, no vibrations. Daggers also have the possible advantage of shallow draft for better anchoring options.
You're never going to hear us bashing any of those boats. They are built for a purpose and price point and they do what they do very well. And many many many of them have crossed oceans. For us though, our priorities have changed, and a more performance oriented boat is in order to meet our goals. Yes, daggerboards allow better sailing close to the wind, but that is just one aspect of what makes a good ocean-crossing boat...also critical are hull shape, weight distribution, sail handling, light air performance, stiffness, etc., etc. I could write a book on this topic, but instead will save it for the videos. Cheers!
The Outremer 55 might be intimidating, but this boat is also quite forgiving. Oh, and by the way : next time you'll be in La Grande Motte, take a moment to visit Les Baux de Provence. It's only 1.5h away by road.
Your hard work putting together your previous seasons has lead to this adventure. We enjoy following you and aspire to be somewhat like you. The inventory of your camera gear was very instructive. Thank you and good luck!
Congrats on the new boat adventure! Please be VERY careful to have a backup to the SanDisk drives as they have a high fail rate per my sister who is a busy photographer. Better safe than very sorry!!
Hey guys, thanks for allowing us to come along on your journey. Just wanted to say well done for staying true to yourself and hanging out for your performance Cat. This is a great match up and once you're sailing with the 55 is finished hopefully the relationship with Outremer will continue, have a Blessed Christmas. Ron

I'm still pinching myself for you two, I can hardly believe this remarkable opportunity Outremer has been immensely kind to have offered. I'm looking forward to your first voyage onboard such a fine vessel.
Fix your eyes by eye exercises. Palming massage to stimulate blood flow. Myopia, Read with the strong eye closed with text in the distance (eg on TV) just out of focus. Myopia can just be muscles that have weakened too much and lost the ability to focus the eye.
Congratulations you guys. This relationship couldn’t have happened to a more deserving couple. I guess you guys will be picking up the Outremer torch from Riley and Elayna’s La Vagabonde ride.
Gotta "hand it" to Outremer and the O'Kellys-THIS arrangement is a PERFECT business and personal decision for both! But the BIGGEST number of winners here are your subscribers and Patreons-who get to watch the O'Kelly's figure out this incredible sailboat and learn about it right along with you two!!
Take care.
Hope we get the chance! Thank you so much!
Cheers!
True. They have a remarkable reputation.
You should try an SSD enclosure with SSD inserts. If you have Thunderbolt or USB-C you can get x3 more speed on your external hard drives.
Your hard work putting together your previous seasons has lead to this adventure. We enjoy following you and aspire to be somewhat like you. The inventory of your camera gear was very instructive. Thank you and good luck!
Kinda crazy how this has all worked out! Could probably do more on the gear...there are two other pelican cases full of stuff!
Congrats on the new boat adventure! Please be VERY careful to have a backup to the SanDisk drives as they have a high fail rate per my sister who is a busy photographer. Better safe than very sorry!!
Ha ..... Remember when back I said it's time for a outremer 55 after that one boat fell through.... I think they saw my comment hahaha
You knew!!
Ron
Thank you Ron. Best to you as well.
Wow, you got your play button really fast. I expected the silver play button to arrive sometime after you got a million subs, lol.
So So happy for you guys. Can't wait for your new adventures.
Thank you so much, we can’t either!!
For us, europeans, not any different. We also have to leave the US within 90 days...
I can’t wait to watch your adventures on the boat!! 🎉🎉
This is going to be f.u.n. ‼️ 🎉 The O 52 is going to be soooooo exciting!! She looks so spacious and well laid out. I repeat.......
This is going to be F. U. N.‼️ See you next time. ✨ 🌊 💨 ⛵️ 🏝️ 👙 🌞 ✨
It is going to be EPIC!!! Whoop whoop!
I'm still pinching myself for you two, I can hardly believe this remarkable opportunity Outremer has been immensely kind to have offered. I'm looking forward to your first voyage onboard such a fine vessel.
Happy for you guys!!
So happy for you 🎉
Fix your eyes by eye exercises. Palming massage to stimulate blood flow. Myopia, Read with the strong eye closed with text in the distance (eg on TV) just out of focus. Myopia can just be muscles that have weakened too much and lost the ability to focus the eye.
I'll give that a shot!
When I saw Nick in the wig, for the first time I thought, "Yep, he's from Portland!"! Rock on you two, we always enjoy your videos!
You rock!
So excited to see you guys out on the water again!! What a dream come true!! Thank you for sharing your journey with us!
Yeh, seriously! Thanks!
Now, off you go
Congratulations you guys. This relationship couldn’t have happened to a more deserving couple. I guess you guys will be picking up the Outremer torch from Riley and Elayna’s La Vagabonde ride.
can I ask what you all do for a living...I'm just curious...thanks
Everything
Glad to see you had a chance to be with family. But even more excited that you will be sailing again. Let the adventures begin.
Let’s do this!! Thanks for your note Carlos!
So happy you will be cruising soon. Does this mean you are no longer looking for your own personal boat?
Really good question!
It’s nice you get to check out and work out the bugs on the boat before the owner gets it.
You perfected Clarity, and it's gonna be VERY cool watching you perfect Clarity II! CHEERS!!
We are all so thrilled for you two, what a wonderful opportunity.
It’s been to long.
Good luck❤❤
Pretty damn cool, guys. Perfect fit.
yeh that sums it up! Friggin cool! Let's ride this wave!
