Definitely! I swear I watched almost all of your videos the other night and I'm actually inspired to learn sign language now too lol. Keep the awesomeness comin'!
Mic - I love your videos. You're so creative. I just purchased a GoPro for use when riding my road bike...but seeing your clips helped me realize there are so many other cool things I can do. Thanks!
Extremely helpful, thank you! I got the GoPro mainly to take video while riding my motorcycle and I bought a RAM Mount for shots of just the road from the handlebars but also tried mounting it on my helmet. At every stop light/stop sign I checked to make sure it was still there. (60mph+ mph winds as I road) I will be buying the camera tethers just for peace of mind. Now I understand how they hook up. Thanks!
Thanks for great videos and tips, Mic!! Got the HERO 2 a week ago and it fell of the first day I used it while skiing in about 15" of fresh powder when I crashed and rolled down the hill.. luckily I found it after about 5 minutes!!! Definitely going to buy this as soon as possible before skiing again!!!
I love watching your video's I learned American Sign Language in school, but no one around here is deaf.. I was better at it but after 10 yrs of no one to sign to or read there sign's I'm back to learning some what.
Hi Mic, thanks for all this good tip. Just a question on this one. I buy the tethers from goPro, the same you use on the video. But mine are flat, and there is no flat area on my helmet (or far away from the mount). I see you stick yours on a round area of your helmet, did it stick well ?looks like on mine it's just stick on the middle so not a large surface...
I have same silver screw. You can find them on ebay. There are actually a bunch of different colors for the screw and a few other things that people make and sell on ebay.
i wakeboard and ive had a tather snap but the floatie back door saved my gopro. i have also had the tethers save my go pro more that once so i always tie off my go pro!
I assume using a Tether you assume the mount holding the GoPro is detached vs just the Camera. I wonder if you can attatch the Tether to the GoPro Mount the camera is using?
Hey neat video, I'm happy too see you being deaf didnt stop you for pursuing a successful TH-cam channel. Great information I was wondering why there wasn't any sound untill you started signing I took asl 1-2 in high school . Awesome maan krep up the good work.
I just took the safety-wrist strap from an old camera. My gopro is on the right side of my helmet, and the wrist strap is secured by using the helmet's chin strap. Should work pretty good.
Any tips for lens protectors? I just ordered a GoPro Hero 3, haven't received it yet, but it looks like there may be a decent solution out there. I thought I saw some sort of lens cover, but can't seem to find it from GoPro... Any thoughts?
Man I wish I had one of these. That was me right at the beginning of the video last weekend lol. Lost my original HERO skiing :( Got the HERO 3 Black edition on they way though.
Safety first! In a crash, it's better to lose a camera than be knocked unconscious by it! Make sure the length of the tether strap and the place it's secured to don't let the camera hit you in the face or neck, if the main mount fails!
Hi Mic: I have a Hero 4 black, my case have a complete hinge (no gap), how would you attach the Tether without modifying the case? (cut off the hinge to get the gap). Best regards, Rod
I just ran into this issue today. Here's all you need to know gopro.com/support/articles/tethering-instructions-for-housings-without-a-slot-on-the-hinge-of-the-backdoor
Colin Noel what if the screw falls out, then the lanyard line would fall out and you will loose your gopro. I jetski with mine and that is my fear. Any solutions for that?
I feel silly for asking, but I've been trying to figure it out. My GoPro Hero 11 is not in a case like yours. Where do you attach the tether to the camera? There is hole for a loop to go through...
Not at all! Happy to help, I was looking at my 11… you could put tether between the finger mount with thumbscrew or if you have super thin tether - feed it over small hole near finger mount base
@@MicBergsma Thanks, I appreciate the suggestion, but unless I am misunderstanding, that would not save the camera if the thumbscrew came out. I have it attached to the front of a MC helmet (chin area). I did just talk to GoPro, and believe it or not they said "there is no way to tether the camera with the tether we include except by getting some kind of 3rd party case, or something like our Media Mod". The good news is, I have a media mod arriving tomorrow, but was just impatient. Again, thanks for the help! I may, if I ride today, try something thinner like braided 50lb fishing line.
@@MicBergsma I just found another solution that people might like. 50lb braided fishing line fits through the hole. I say braid and not monofilament or poly, as the braid has no flex and is stronger with a smaller diameter (i.e. 50lb braid is thinner than 50lb mono). I just tested it, and it works well. Just have to be sure you know how to tie braid, so your not never comes out. Hope that helps. :)
Bro I feel like a idiot I have been sitting here trying to figure out how to get it to hook up to the lil round holder and all I had to do was loop it over the gopro lol thank you for that lol

great tip!!! do you find that the leash flaps around in the wind and affects the sound quality?
your channel is very useful for those lime me who just start with gopros :)thanks
Watching this in 2023. Very helpful 💥
Great to hear!
You should re-tie your tether strap/string so that it is a double-fisherman knot instead of the overhand, it will be a lot stronger that way.
This was exactly what I needed. Thank you!
Thanks for great videos and tips, Mic!!

Great video brother .... Keep up the good work ... God bless you & your family ....

I bought them from gopro website, you could find them on amazon or ebay maybe cheaper?
0:52 So that's where you attach it! The product shots on GP's site are completely worthless in this matter.
i wakeboard and ive had a tather snap but the floatie back door saved my gopro.
i have also had the tethers save my go pro more that once so i always tie off my go pro!
I went in any conditions and still strong. I wakeboard where always get in water, still strong :)
Aren't you worried about the adhesive attachment failing? Do they withstand rain and other unfavorable conditions?
have you ever had any problem with the protective case latch coming open?
Don't forget have a look at this sellers other items~Brilliant kit for the Gopro!!
Cool video, but mic where can you buy just a leash like that or can you send my a link? Please say me the name too.PLEASE!!I have to get it in one week.
Mic how do you stabilize the footage. I was skiing and it was kinda shaky. Thanks :)

Very nice video! You are a Pro!
Yes

Where do you recommend purchasing the tethers?
I totally agreed great safety.
Are your helmet mounts the adhesive ones?

Did you ever try to install them on a Bike handlebar?
yes
Hey mitch how many gopros do you have?

GoPro should be paying you big money for all the R&D you do for them. haha =)
Awesome tips Mitch!
nice, that's what I did with my first gopro on my helmet, I took a gopro2 on ebay also gopro kit on amazon and in the kit comes that security pad =)
no, but I tied the leash on the handlebar
they are color aluminum... make by gopole
Today bought a new Hero 3 so now three... one hero 3 and two hero 2
Does anyone know where I can get that tether cord/string in bulk?

Great mic, but your the greatest. SUPER movies.. THANK YOU!!!
oh yeah that is good!
Thanks my frends for you tips.
How do you remove the teether mount?
Great howto Mic! and my favorite channel!! :-)
Thks for your info👍👍👍
great videos. just keep doing videos like this. i like a lot your "Tip # GoPro" videos.
i did a lot of things that you have post on youtube.
I just clean the surface before I put tether mount on it
Great video bro
Will these work on the hero 5 black?
Oh ya! the silver screw is aluminum... GoPole carry them
Just got my gopro cam. Thanks for the solid info bro!
maaan you seem to have millions of dollars, look at your pool *.* very impressive my friend :)
ordered :)
I think i would prefere to loop it through the holes in the helmet rather than something that is also stuck on with a sticky pad!
youre awesome you got the same skatehelm as me
Thank you!

Just thread it through the holes that all the mounts go through

+Kaitlyn s use locktight on the screwthread #simples
this is awesome, man! :]
oh man!

Oh ok, that explains all.
Tether cord failed on me and my gopro sank.... I recommend using 550 cord rather than that string they give you.
why should it come of without tether? the buckle lock isnt safe?
It's a backup, just in case if it failed.... one time I got the mount broke off and the tether saved my GoPro
@@MicBergsma do you recommend to do the same with suction cup mounts outside the car? Can the sticker be removed from the car without a paint damage?
Safty is nice to have..:)
nothing yet :)
Casually wakeboarding on a rocky mountain. Logic ;)
your last name sounds very dutch! are you from Holland?
