    Thats cool I have some questions!
    -how much do you think it costs for all the equipment you need?
    -Why didnt you use a silver quarter? (1964 and earlier)
    -Is this legal?💀

      Hi there
      For tools cost me thousands because no one here in NZ make some of the tools I have like Swedish Wrap and Folding cones.
      And for the coin it was just what I have in the workshop also yes very legal no problem here in NZ not too sure with other countries but here it's all good.

      Only if you deface coins to use them as currency again. Remember the penny rollers at the fair? Same principle applies.

    There was a small amount of 1965 quarter that have silver, very very rare, it was done by mistake, they were supposed to be copper and nickel, there is an unknown amount that were made with silver, they are very rare.

      Learn and understand the law before commenting. In the US it is illegal to dismiss the value of currency by altering it. In other words if you burn money it’s illegal. In this scenario he has increased the value of the coins several times over from being only worth twenty five cents to more like $25. He and the thousands of coin jewelry makers in the US are doing nothing illegal at all. But it’s easy to make an uneducated comment without fact checking first.

  • @rmcfete
    @rmcfete ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Actually it’s illegal

      Actually it's legal even on the US. The law you're thinking of, is modification of money for the purposes of fraud...ie taking a quarter and somehow making it look like a half dollar. Or as is more common taking paper money say a dollar, and making it into a 5...similar to souvenir penny you smash at tourist locations.

    If this was done in the US, it would be a federal offense; defacing US Currency.

      I'm surprised that some people I know from the US still making coin rings also I've learned from them the craft/art of coin ring making.

      It is not a crime to make coin rings or any other decorative item from coins or currency in the U.S. It is illegal in the U.S. to deface U.S. or any other country’s coins or currency for the purpose of fraud. Such as shaving silver or gold from bouillon coin or making a $5 bill appear to be a $100 bill. This is a very common misunderstanding of U.S. law. None of us American coin ring makers are going to jail.

    • @qualitycoinringsnz
      @qualitycoinringsnz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you I hope people that think this is illegal read your comment because same here in NZ it's perfectly fine and by the way my rings are in museums and art gallery and those places runs by the government also once the coin turn in a ring its no longer a coin 👌🏾

      100% no problem. Here in the US we have machines you put a penny in and it embosses a souvenir stamp on it.@@qualitycoinringsnz

    Destroying coins that were made in America is a federal crime!!!!!!!!

    • @qualitycoinringsnz
      @qualitycoinringsnz  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If that's the case all the coin ring makers from the US will be in jail by now and also they wouldn't even bother making it and create youtube channels making coin rings don't you think?

    • @Dragonsbrath
      @Dragonsbrath ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is not a crime. What is criminal is counterfeiting coinage which I don't believe this is in the same category by no means.

      You do beautiful work. I'm just starting and have had some successes and a few good ups. The thing that is intriguing me now is how to get the coin to even out getting rid of the hourglass look. Any tips would be much appreciated.

      A crime perpetrated by a criminal government owned and operated by the Fed, which is part of the U.S.A. Corporation owned and operated for the Crown of England !!! So at present the criminal government, which is the enemy, of Ee The People, place ridiculous f ing laws to inhibit we the people, whom they care nothing about to turn all of us into criminals for destroying their fiat money which at present is worthless anyway !! That's right, England stole this country back in 1871 when they created this central bank, you call the Fed, after a created Civil War, divide and conquer, supposedly over slavery, a total lie, so while we were fighting each other, they, England, the globalist, planted their puppets over here in our government system, killed Abraham Lincoln, before he could expose these criminals, planted their head man, Ulysses S Grant, yes the North was fight for England, with England's financial backing, but ironically a war against slavery, as I said total lie, it was for control of America, ever wonder how the richest country in the world is in debt, England has sucked the wealth out of America !!! The same bunch that stole the 2020 election, to keep their, the globalist in control of America, which is being exposed as we speak !!! Wake the hell up America and world !!! Enslavement of humanity is their agenda under s one world dictatorship government , depopulation, and control earths assets , with the enslavement of the ones left alive !!! So Wake the hell up !!!

    TH-cam why is this allowed, it's illegal to deface or destroy coins, U.S. Code section 331: This statute addresses the mutilation, diminution, or falsification of U.S. coins. You can be charged with on offense for fraudulently defacing coins, mutilating coins, altering coins, diminishing them, impairing them, scaling them, or lightening them.
