Rochester/Rochester Hills to Detroit is very commutable, even with I75 construction. It has a really unique vibe, the parks and trails are amazing and house prices are varied. I’ve lived in several areas, Farmington, Clinton Twp., Birmingham and Rochester Hills, they are all unique and you are right, definitely visit and hang out, before buying.

The "East Side" does not exist in Oakland County. At all. In Wayne County the East Side is east of Woodward, including "The Pointes", and north of 8 Mile the East Side is Macomb County. Don't really know what that part of Oakland County is but it's different from living on the East Side.
I don't doubt it. But they aren't the authority on what is the East Side. I was born in Mt. Clemens, lived in Roseville, Warren, Troy, Eastpointe, Grosse Pointe Woods, Dearborn, Southfield, and Beverly Hills. Troy is more of a suburb of Birmingham/Bloomfield Hills than of anything else, and those are definitely not the East Side. Maybe there needs to be a "North Side"?
It's just as nice. We have big homes 7 or 800,000.00 homes to in the millions in a lot of area. Maybe we have a lot of contractors who live in macomb County but they makes as much or more then Dr's. Or lawyers. Washington township has gated mansions. So what if you can't hop on a freeway to go to murder city.
I'm planning on including more and more cities as my channel grows. If Warren ranked more on national lists, it would definitely be there already. You're the first person to ask 🤷♂️
I live in shelby twp. I love it we have a huge home. I grew up in Detroit saw how it went down hill. I don't need to go downtown. We are afraid of getting shot at on the freeway like are friends did but they never put that on the news like a lot of crime that happens or nobody from the suburbs would go to detroit.
Downriver would be the best place to look in the 150K range. We have agents all over and can help you move anywhere in Metro Detroit - just reach out! paul@movingmi.com
Thank you for the suggestion! I'll definitely consider making a video about the downriver area. I know you grew up here too, but as someone whose family lived here for 3+ generations i have to agree with others you kind of scuffed what "east side" is to us. Rochester hills is nowhere near the woodward divide that defines it, and from a 1960/70s perspective it was and still is highlighted by a lot of often old family owned Italian and jewish owned eateries almost bit like many east coast cities just more suburban in nature. The pointes, st claire shores, roseville, fraser etc, areas super dense with bakeries and public schools I dont live there now im infact more in the northern area you mentioned around utica, rochester, clinton township and i dont know what we call ourselves but its not eastsiders, that would be fun but we're not. Although i do think there is some connection enough since many up here were at one time east siders the vibe is more "mall people" then small town bakeries, churches and public parks or schools that highlight the east side. Along the M59 corridor many may have came from or lived on the east side but the two areas have distinct vibes and we don't really call ourselves east siders, in many cases out of respect for the actual east side even if at the cost of defining our own identity. We have much more bright neon color wrapped luxury cars and lots of good eating here too but we completely lack the down to earth community feel that any of the far east side oozes, we instead are filled with Medical and Industrial complexes. The M59 corridor feels much more like people in transit, maybe moving up in the world even, but also never too close to each other like with anywhere connected to Mack or Greater Mack avenue
I do delivery all over these areas, at least one half of metro detroit, and it absolutely already feels like it. Its if anything the less dense areas west of 94 between it and Macomb around about 23 mile that just keeps it from feeling the same, but its the most natural expansion up 94 as people keep looking for new areas to develop.
