    Finally, someone did a real test with this mower. Thanks for spending the time to make this video. I cut 30 properties a week and have used a regular timemaster for the last 4 years. I'm definitely sold. I do have a question. Does the manual say how many square feet a 10 amp hour battery can mow on normal speed?

    • @PaulSikkema
      @PaulSikkema  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No it doesn't because every lawn is different. Toro (and my experience) is getting about 65-70 minutes per charge on normal grass at normal walking speed.

      Yes, the motor is fan cooled and the electronics has heat sinks to dissipate the heat.

    Great video and awesome explanations for each cut. I have a dewalt mower and find that it leaves a lot of stragglers because the blade speed is not as fast as a gasoline, thus lifting the grass up to make a good cut. So I have been looking into the E time master.
    If you could get a close up view on the grass of the cut quality, for gas and each electric setting that would be great!

    I have owned both and the E timemaster is definitely better and more powerful. I put the high lift blades on because I bag my zoysia front and bermuda rear lawns. It fills the bag completely with the high lift blades. Way more powerful on max in thick grass than the gas mower. This coming from a MOPAR guy w a widebody scat pack. Never thought I'd admit that I like the E better 😂.

    Thanks for this video Paul, its nice to see a proper implementation of auto mode that still has the option to force max when desired. Are these timemasters (electric or gas) decent on slopes, or would you recommend a narrower/lighter mower instead? I have one hill that ranges from about 25 degrees up to 40 degrees.

    • @PaulSikkema
      @PaulSikkema  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The gas TimeMaster is what I've been using to mow ditches and any area it's not safe to use a ZTR. My ditches are steep like yours and most of the time I can walk in the bottom and guide the mower with one hand. The center "assist" handle under the Personal Pace let's you run the machine one-handled. It's heavy enough that it will stay going straight on the hill. I expect the electric to work even better since there's no oil in the engine.
      It will climb a regularly mowed slope steeper than you can walk up.
      I STRONGLY RECOMMEND TO NEVER WALK BEHIND ANY MOWER GOING DOWNHILL! If you have to go down the assist handle will let you walk off to the side.

      That’s great to hear @@PaulSikkema appreciate your thoughts and wisdom. That’s one of the main reasons I’m looking at electric mowers, the slope actually starved my gas mower of oil and seized the engine.

It’s been perfect for 10yr s except the last year or so but be had a bit of trouble keeping to rear drive wheels tight and they have worked themselves loose a few times. You can only go so tight before the wheel won’t turn. Guess I should use some blue locktite. Also just this summer I almost think I hear an exhaust leak type sound when it warms up. I have a 22 inch Toro 60V used it 2 years now it came with the small 6.0 ah battery. Bought the Toro 60v snow blower and have the 7.5 ah battery. The rear wheel broke on the mower after 2 years doing 3 lawns per week. Not bad. Bought a 60V super recycler while the other mower was in the shop. I also purchased a spare 7.5 ah battery. To make a long story short 6.0 battery is now only charging to 50 to 75 percent. I suspect the 3 other 7.5 ah batteries are soon going to fade and not charge fully. I just ordered a timemaster 30 gas electric start as I now have 7 properties to cut weekly. I love the electric mowers and the personal pace system. Unfortunately the batteries are not going to last forever and I think that gas is the best until battery technology advances. I also have an old Honda HRX it mows like a champ and eats like a bird just wish it had a wider deck. Can't wait for my new Toro gas Time Master. I have high hopes for it. I here good and bad tnings. I plan to upgrade the pulley system to commercial grade when the original ones fail. I had high hopes for the electric mowers but now realize that I will spend more for new batteries than the cost of the new Time Master gas mower!

      @@PaulSikkema Hi Paul thank you for the suggestions. I am getting up in years and only cut lawns as a side hustle and to keep busy. In retrospect the first Toro electric 22 inch has about 8 years of use on it and has performed admirably considering the number of properties it has cut over the last three seasons. Actually it was only 500 dollars when purchased new It was a floor model open box so ROI was darned good. I use the 60 volt Super Recycler for my personal property. It has a great cut and bags much better than the 22 inch 60 volt Recycler. The four properties I plan to use the Time Master on are flat and within the same block which is ideal. I couldn't justify the extra 800 dollar price jump for the E Timemaster. Replacement batteries are 450 per 10.0 ah battery. However, there is a market for customers who prefer the low noise of an electric mower. I told one of my customers I was getting a new gas mower and she said she liked the low noise of the Toro e mower. Her husband had a Ryobi e mower and it fell apart 😭 so they asked me for my services. Not sure how many more years I will be cutting grass just a Solo operator here looking for more time to lounge in my chair. I hope the Time Master 30 helps in that respect. Bring on Spring 🌱

    Paul, the one drawback of the Timemaster (gas) has always been the size of the gas tank. Does the eTimemaster afford the operator any more time mowing? By the way, I’ve never seen a Super H. Nice machine.

    This question may have been asked. Do you are cutting your entire lawn with the walk behind or do you also have a zero turn?

    • @PaulSikkema
      @PaulSikkema  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I always had the philosophy - If it takes more than an hour to mow the lawn I got a bigger mower :)
      That said, I only use a walk-behind now to trim or do lawns that are too small for a 42 inch zero-turn.
      Most people can mow an 8000 sq. ft. lawn with a 21-inch walk-behind comfortably. This mower you can mow 12-14,000 sq. ft.
