Why ENFPs love INTJs

  • The reasons behind the crush ENFPs feel for INTJs. What do INTJs naturally do, just by being themselves, that makes ENFP not only fall for them but appreciate their input in their lives when in a romantic relationship, or friendship?
    Of course all of this from the perspective of an ENFP.

    I am INTJ male and have been with my ENFP wife for 25 years ... it is probably one of the best pairings for both of these types. She brings me out of my shell and I help keep her focused. The main struggle that we've had is mostly dealing with Fi stuff because we both have introverted feeling and can be sometimes selfish in wants and if those wants dont line up it occasionally gets messy. But I would say overall that does not happen often. Also, what happens in the bedroom .... well let's just say pretty amazing. We both have a lot of similar interests from music, to sci-fi stuff, outdoors and world views/religion etc. So we mesh really well on all those. She can talk for hours and I like to listen and will interject when I feel necessary, so that works out really well. ENFPs are far more intelligent than some people give them credit for and INTJs are a lot more kind hearted than people give them credit for once you get to know these types on deeper level.

      INTJ female here, married to an ENFP male.
      In terms of the bedroom talk, I think that maybe an INTJ male and a female ENFP are better than vice versa. Maybe because (speculating) women in general are also more caring than males in general. Im an INTJ female and I think instinctively my ENFP husband doesn’t look past his own needs. I know it sounds horrible, but outside of the bedroom though he wants to take care of everything I need... like EVERYTHING that I need, to the point i get frustrated because im so independent. LOL its all a jumble right now, he slightly makes me crazy but I dont know, maybe im not as miserable if I was on my own. Ill never know I guess. Also, on a side note, if I step out of myself and look at how I treat him, I notice that I give him a lot of leeway, am not as controlling, as I seem to be with others that I care less about. We love being together and he gives me so much relief in the sense that he doesnt judge me as much as I judge myself. I feel his love is unconditional. He is very patient but wants to jump around and do many things which can be very uncomfortable for me. beign married though for 15 years now, I feel i am getting into a balance now.
      P.S. Just so you know, im stopping myself from keeping on editing this post or deleting it as Ive done before and am compelled to. 😂

      @@peppylemon1717 I know that you've been married for 15 years and it sounds like you've learned to sort of navigate it, but it could be a good idea sharing with him what your needs are as an INTJ. He might not be aware of the importance that doing things on your own has for you. You don't need to change them, you need to understand where they are coming from. The same goes for you.
      I don't know what you mean by "jumping around and do many things", but me as an ENFP myself I am like that too. We get excited through our Ne, extroverted intuition is the very core of who we are. Not possible to change that. We can get better at managing our energy yes, and people in our lives can understand that and support us the way we are :)

      Mindimalist hi, I have, numerous times, and it seems like it just went out his other ear. Also, I think there is also a big difference between female and male enfps, I just watched a seminar/conference on ENFPs on a TH-cam channel called "The ENFP Brain" and they literally scanned the brains of volunteers while they did specific tasks, and it showed which part of the brain were active and the movements within it while the action was being made. So maybe with you (sorry, I'm assuming that you're female but I am not really sure), it may be different. It could also be upbringing and culture. Nonetheless, I wouldn't really be an INTJ if I didn't exhaust every possible solution before giving up. That would include having a good conversation about it. Something that wouldn't be appropriate to post here for sure. Thank you for concern though.
      I'll be enclosing the link to the ENFP Brain video if you're interested in watching it. I was very surprised with the differences in the way women and men's brain work! So interesting!

    As an INTJ, I don't think we don't live by jealousy at all. We have trouble trusting, but once you have our trust, you have it. If you break that trust once, we are done. The trust is gone.

      INTJ can be very jealous of other friendships; like, they want to keep you all for themself and won’t want you to have other friends. They also sometimes think you’re trying to make them jealous when you include them as friends in picture messages so that they feel as part of the group. They can read things wrong if they’re not healthy - and this is a 60 yo INTJ female I am talking about. I’m not saying all of them but some really can be.

    I did the test and the result was that I was INTJ. I watched some videos and dug some information online and all of them told me that ENFPs are great company for me. I was so curious to find an ENFP to talk to to see if this information was true. Since I'm not a very friendly type of person, I have only one friend. So, I asked my friend to take the test and I asked my girlfriend whom I can't really live without and I have never seen anyone being into me to the extent that she is and I will never find such a lovely girl anywhere anytime to take the test too. I was so afraid that my girlfriend was another type and I'd be drawn to an ENFP later. To my surprise, both my girlfriend and my friend were ENFP. This made me see why all the information out there suggested that ENFPs were great company. I think every INTJ is either lonely or is in ENFP's company now

      thefirstborn you are totally right. I run a while ago a project where the INTJ was in charge of the logistics. It was amazing. I didn’t know about MBTI back then, and when I learned about it and I asked this person to take the test some months later, everything made sense. It was one of the smoothest collaborations ever, where I had the leading role, ideas and the last word, and he would be amazed by them and make sure that they would come into fruition. Best team ever!

      Mindimalist That guy probably likes you as a person and he was willing to go all the way to make your project a success. I am an INTJ myself and I work with engineers and developers. Most of these can be super agreeable when your ideas help them grow and “accomplish” their goals. Me being the youngest member of the team made me feel like I don’t belong because everyone here is a rockstar. But I hang around and they are always willing to help. That’s the upside everyone miss about the mysterious INTJ.

  • @curtiswong7515

    I'm an INTJ and my sister is an ENFP. Because we both lead with intuition, our conversations tend to be very interesting, complex, and abstract. We never really talk about other people or what happened at work.
    The chemistry between the two types is difficult to put into words, but if you are one of these types and you have a good relationship with the other, you will immediately know how this chemistry feels. The difference between talking with a sensor versus an intuitive is fairly substantial and an INTJ will usually find conversations with ENFP's 1000x more stimulating than other types.
    I also love how complex an ENFP is. Their choice of gifts, what they wear, and how they choose to express themselves makes an INTJ's problem solving and need to understand the world and everything in it to perfection, spin around and work, which we enjoy the mental stimulation (and physical stimulation but that's another topic for another day)

    • @Mindimalist
      @Mindimalist  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I love how you describe it. That's a good example of a healthy relationship between an INTJ and an ENFP, where both by being themselves, help one another to bring the best out of each other. That's not always the case, even though both connect very well. But I'm so delighted to read that you experience it this way.
      Namasté!

      My dad is an INTJ and I am an ENFP. I get more from talking with him than with any other person I know. He also says that I understand him better than anyone else. Life has not turned out the way I thought it would but I think our complimentary personality types have kept us connected. I believe God put it into us so that I would always be able to find a way back "home" and he would always have a person to "spiritually" connect with even through tough times. I almost lost him to cancer and I don't know what I would do without him. Thank the Lord, he has overcome it.

    I think, when you get into all the theory of the cognitive functions and stuff, that INTJs and ENFPs think in very similar ways - they both have Te and Fi. You wouldn't expect that as the only similar letter in the type is the 'N'. But, it seems that way. The thing is, from my personal experience, I can totally see this. When I see people like you and some other ENFPs expressing their thoughts, I can totally see myself thinking internally in a very similar way. That's probably why, you can talk about that book even though you don't really understand it, it's the exact same thing an INTJ would do if an ENFP did something that an INTJ would not necessarily understand.

    Thank you for talking about this combi. I (INTJ) met an ENFP back in the school days just by random and have been best friends with them for over 10 years since. Other friendship relations come and go, but not the one I share with them until now.
    Truth is, I often get mistaken as an extrovert whenever I'm around this ENFP just because I always talk like a madman for durations and being silly with them.
    Unlike a stereotypical INTJ, I do well in social situations (I believe some INTJs also). But sadly, it's also true that I do well in them because I know exactly what impression that I want others to have about me, and I make conversations flow nicely the way they logically should be. My mind's doing the calculations. It takes energy, really. That's why I sometimes need 2-3 days of 'break time' from anything social, or more if I could (how about u INTJs out there😂).
    But with my ENFP bsf, everything is pure chaos🤣. My mind always goes: 'aha interesting'. I'm triggered by them. In a good way.👌

    I like to think of an ENFP as people who like mysteries, since the INTJ personality type is very discrete and mysterious, the INTJs attracts ENFPs because of the fact that INTJs are mysterious.

    As an intj, being cheated is the worst thing I would want to experience. There are few people who we emotionally invest in, and if they betray it's a very painful experience. So, if jealousy or apprehension comes it's because of that. So, be completely loyal and I'll reciprocate.

    • @Mindimalist
      @Mindimalist  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry to hear. I mentioned it on this video because typically ENFPs are captivated by the INTJ as much as the INTJ is by them and this leads to the ENFP being loyal. Of course, there are exceptions, but this would be the most normal thing to find among healthy individuals.
      I also mentioned it because other types can feel insecure by the bubbly and colorful personality of the ENFP. INTJs wouldn't feel threatened just because they are being themselves. I guess they would only show jealousy if there are reasons for it. Other types would feel jealous just because.

For us INTJ, ENFP has a beautiful soul and often felt like sunshine to our dark INTJ world, they bring colors (rainbows) to our life, which is a gem and treasure that many INTJ would protect. When you're making videos for INTJs, please itemize the content in the description box so that we can get to the essence of what you're saying without having to sit through the entire video. This is how some ENFP's communicate. Why do you assume that the video is for INTJ's? It could be for lots of people (people interested in MBTI, people interested in ENFP's or people interested in INTJ's that are not INTJ's themselves). While the "efficient dissemination of information is a virtue", it is also a virtue to be able to appreciate the differences between people. For instance, I actually think its great how much emotion she expresses via facial expression or even via her tone of voice, the way that she makes her points and includes stories from her own experiences to support them.

Once we are aware of the jealous feeling, then our Fi informs our Te to find out and get an understanding as to why we feel jealous. Then, move on either to improve our deficiency or our situation that caused the jealousy,or to leave the thought and feeling behind, if we think and feel that there is nothing we can do. I do know an INTJ now. We are not exactly close. The thing I do notice is they are able to follow my line of thought and they are a good listener. Unfortunately the first INTJ I met was a covert narcissist.
    Something I keep in mind is that typology isn't a measure of personality at all. It is only a method to understand cognition. I do not write off INTJs because my first encounter was extremely bad. The second connection with an INTJ was sad for me. I remember one day when I told them "You are a really good friend to me." They replied "We aren't friends but I can see why you might think so." Another two years of moments like that and I had to end the friendship as I would be crying at times.
    The current connection with an INTJ is pleasant and kind when I see them. They do not initiate. Haven't seen them thru the isolation. I might see them again, no idea. INTJs are not forthcoming about wanting to go out and do things. They appear to be one of the most introverted types.
    I think INTJs might find me overwhelming. I remember the current one said, "Not all you extroverts are obnoxious." ... Its progress.

    • @Mindimalist
      @Mindimalist  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry to hear about the bad experiences with INTJs, and yes I agree with you, MBTI is about cognition, and personality can vary from person to person, you add up there cultural background, family, religion, previous life experiences, and so on. That will give you, in turn, a different individual, even though the wiring of their brain could be similar.
      I've made friends with INTJs through work, or through similar hobby's, and it required a certain amount of time, it evolved in a very natural way. It's not that you post an Ad online and you get your INTJ easily haha

I can be very nice, understanding, and helpful to someone, but I don't or no longer consider them a friend (for various reasons like betrayals). Usually, in those situations, I give more than I receive and I don't trust the person, but they trust me. Example could be a work colleague who trusted me to help them mend and stabilize their current romantic relationship (I just finished my Master's in Counseling Psychology), and while she's grateful, I don't consider her a friend at all due to many reasons, but suffice to say I know her 'friendship' with me is as deep as a shallow puddle.

    I don't have a romantic partner but my best male friend is an ENFP. He was my employee first and then my witness at my wedding and then my friend for life. In analyzing him I would say if I had a romantic ENFP partner, their lack of boundaries and their charisma that makes women think they are flirting with them is something I would not be able to tolerate. I had the chance to watch it as an outsider since he was my employee and the amount of women coming to my business for HIM, flirt with him and even attempt things..that's something that sorry but no. I would want that changed.
    So not sure that I would say that as an INTJ I would accept them as they are.
    Not that. I am super strict with my boundaries and want the same.
    I am married to an ISTP who is a master st boundaries. I would go nuts otherwise.
    Other than that I probably would accept all their quirks and flaws. I find them endearing, down to their lack of organization.

    INTJ here🙋😎

  • @GeoScorpion
    @GeoScorpion 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am a male INTJ and my best friend is a female ENFP. I don't get jealous of her being with other people, having a bf, etc. I do get jealous of time: I notice her absence in my life when she's gone from my life for long spans of time. A little bit of WeChat or a phone call and I'm good, again.

      @Mindimalist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh yes, ENFP’s tend to disappear from time to time. All of those I know including myself 🙈

      @@Mindimalist Yeah, and I keep being there when she comes back even though I swear up and down that she's done. No joke, watch the movie, "Leon: The Professional". I'm Leon. All of you ENFPs are the Natalie Portman character. ;)

    I think I am a bit jealous INTJ because the girl ENFP that I'm attracted to is in the movement of polylove an all of that. So I was thinking that maybe the best to do is to not try anything with this girl whatsoever. Idk, but I think that if I try something with her, there are highly probability chances that the one that will end in hurt will be me.

    • @thomasdawe1837
      @thomasdawe1837 ปีที่แล้ว

      ENFPs (especially female) are comparatively common, particularly for NFs, so if you find those kind of personality traits attractive, statistically you will come across someone who matches your personal circumstances eventually.
      In terms of hurt, you're both Fi users and will feel any loss deeply.
      I would just go for it, win or lose you'll learn something. Better to have loved and lost cliche etc. wonder how this turned out as I am commenting 1 year later

    INTJs experience jealousy just like any other person, yet I think it takes us longer to realize it and accept the feeling, but i believe that for healthy INTJs they have learned to recognize and accept those feelings in order to find a way to deal with them in a way that doesn't affect their relationship. Since our feelings are so personal to us it makes us very sensitive to the people and values we care about. INTJs usually observe the people around us carefully and it takes a lot for us to trust someone, but when we do decide to trust, we do it completely. I like how ENFPS are usually bubbly around everyone and its just how they are, but it would actually make me suspicious when an ENFP is not bubbly around me. I don't know how to respond to that.

    • @Mindimalist
      @Mindimalist  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a good explanation, thank you.
      I have a question for you. Would you feel jealous if you were dating an ENFP that they are bubbly with others as well? Would their natural friendliness and warmth with others make you feel less special and insecure?

    • @philipkwong4605
      @philipkwong4605 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Mindimalist Well if I have decided to date an ENFP that means i would have already taken the time to observe and understand them and so I would trust them. I know that being friendly is just part of their personality and so I would not be insecure about it. I think its actually a really special thing when an ENFP decides to show someone their serious side since it means that they're committing to something that is special to them.

    Imagine you need to do taxes by the end of the month. It will bother me that you procrastinate (lets face it, you will), therefore do you think it's nagging that I will remind you every day that you need to do it, even though it's your problem, but it bothers me to the point that I can't sleep well? :) Most types will consider it's nagging. So I think it's ENFP trait that they can tolerate reasonable level of nagging from INTJs not the other way around.

    • @silentgrove7670
      @silentgrove7670 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't filed my taxes for a few years. I do procrastinate around things based on rules and arbitrary systems. Its true about me for sure and probably would annoy others. I am easily motivated when I am with others to have structure. ENFPs require structure that doesn't seem to come naturally for us.

    • @Mindimalist
      @Mindimalist  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. Yes I'd procastinate too haha, but I will always do my thing on time, even if it's last minute without anyone reminding me. 2. A reminder wouldn't feel like nagging imo, maybe you're right.

    I think it is all made up by the INTJ's, just to find someone who is friendly towards anyone. To me it seems like a nightmare combo. I as a ENFP like spontaneous, emotional expressive, oh and I hate if someone complains about my messiness. All I can find perfectly in my INFP relationship.
    Oh well I guess it depends on the person, but it is definitely not for everyone, it depends on your needs.
