That was a very special team that The Phillies had them years. The 1993 team was also very special. I’m 40 yeas old & I was born in 1979 in the city known as Philthadelphia aka Killadelphia & when The Phillies won the World Series in 1980, I cried my eyes out!
Ryan Howard is the most underappreciated Philadelphia athlete of all-time. His MVP season was one of the most impressive performances I have ever seen. His bat speed, his power to all over the field, his ability to step up in clutch moments...it was truly, truly INCREDIBLE.
Guy in my old-man softball league ran into the fence making a catch the other week here in 2024 and immediately about ten guys made Aaron Rowand jokes. That play will live forever in this area!
Seriously HK was the best to call it. When they hit home runs now HK voice come through the speakers I get chills Everytime I here it. First time I heard I thought I was hearing shit🤣🤣🤣 but I replayed it and realized they used his voice I wanted to cry
That collision at the plate; wow! I still can not believe he held on to it. Took his lumps. It was also nice to see the Phillie player help up the runner.
I always get weepy seeing highlights from Roy Halladay's perfect game and no hitter. I always held out hope he would come back and be a pitching coach for the Phills. I still cant believe he is gone. Werth was my original favorite and when he left for DC, Roy came along and took that space up for me😊
i was really little at that time, so i don’t remember he game, aside from it from it being a walk off against the red sox, what made scott graham so pumped
damn i took for granted how good this team was during my childhood. Those teams were littered with hall of famers i want this level of baseball and the excitement of Red october back in south philly hopefully this is the year
5:15 “For who? For my teammates. For what? To win” -Aaron Rowand when asked about Kenny Loftons comments when he pulled up instead of making a similar catch and Lofton said to reporters “for who, for what?”
Manny Trillo's triple is anything but obscure. The 1980 Phillies/Astros NLCS is considered one of the greatest playoff series ever. The last 4 of the 5 games went extra innings. In this final game, the Phillies went into the 8th inning down by 3 runs to - of all pitchers - Nolan Ryan. Three dinky hits including a single by Larry Bowa (?), an infield hit by Bob Boone, and a bunt single by Greg Gross were followed by a bases loaded walk to Pete Rose. A ground out by Keith Moreland scored another run, followed by Trillo's triple. However, the game was far from over. The Astros scored 2 in the bottom of the 8th to tie the game. The Phillies won it in the 10th.
He didn't play for us for long but no Phillies highlight compilation is complete without a Matt Stairs DEEP INTO THE NIGHT blast off Johnathan Broxton.
Apparently the poster doesn't really grasp what obscure means in showing two of the biggest hits in Phillies history, Trillo's triple in the playoffs and Stairs homerun.
The following aren't really obscure: Mike Schmidt's 4 HR game @ Chicago Mike Schmidt's HR @ Montreal in the game the Phils clinched the NL East Manny Trillo's triple in game 5 of the 1980 NLCS George Vukovich's walk off in game 4 of the 1981 Divisional Series
While I love this video how the $&@ can you call some of these “obscure “? Trillo’s triple in the LCS is part of Phillies legend. So is Rowand’s catch.
Schmidt's HR that elicited "he buried it" is the single best Phillies moment evah! Won the East in '80. The tension during that at-bat was beyond measure and when he hit it, all that tension exploded. Just beautiful.
I’m not talking about this year or the year before but since 2013 to now, the fans have been slacking pretty bad at the games. The attendance is horrible
"He buried it!" --- I was in my kitchen listening to the game in 1980, when I was suddenly going nuts. It's one of those memories that sticks with you forever. I didn't have to be reminded, but it was great to hear it again. One memory I'd like to relive: Phillies-Cubs in 1975-76? Cubs were ahead like 13-1 and I turned the game off in disgust. An hour or two later I just channel surfed back, and the Phils were ahead like 23-22.
Schmidt's home run there in Montreal is the highest I've ever been as a sports fan, and I was at game 6 in Philly. Watch Tug's leap when he closes out that game. So much purer than the WS leap. That 23-22 game was spectacular. Dave Kingman was a beast.
2007-2010 phillies were nothing short of magic. Seeing rollins, howard, utley and the whole gang again always brings me back
07-11
Makes me cry

I'm 25, so this is all of the nostalgia of my entire childhood.
same brotha i thought this was the norm year in year out boy were we spoiled

Under appreciated? What?
How is he underappreciated? You don't have a clue what you're talking about.
Steroids 🤫
He was so unappreciated and his 5-6 year run was unbelievable averaging like 150 rbi a year and 45-50 homers
The Rowand catch is such a cherry on top. We will always love Aaron for that one play.
Guy in my old-man softball league ran into the fence making a catch the other week here in 2024 and immediately about ten guys made Aaron Rowand jokes. That play will live forever in this area!
Ryan Howard = most underappreciated athlete in Philadelphia sports history.
Not in Philadelphia.
I'd add Donovan McNabb to the list
@@adam2009ization he is appreciated, he just never got the job done in the end.
Harry Kalas making me tear up! Miss hearing him call the games
you ain't kidding, I was 14 in 1980 and was living in Delaware at the time and loved watching Phils games with h.k. announcing.
Seriously HK was the best to call it. When they hit home runs now HK voice come through the speakers I get chills Everytime I here it. First time I heard I thought I was hearing shit🤣🤣🤣 but I replayed it and realized they used his voice I wanted to cry
1980! Euphoria! Finally! (Yep, Harry Kalas was the best.)
The prime 2005-2011 Phillies had some of the sweetest swings in baseball. Burrell, Utley, Howard, Stairs, Rollins, the list could keep going.
RIP Harry - nothing like that voice.
Listening to this I did not understand how much I missed Harry Kayla's calling our games. R.I.P our voice of our PHILLIES.
15:14 thats a fan for life
I miss Harry k calling these games the best baseball voice iv ever heard R.I.P. #outahere
That collision at the plate; wow! I still can not believe he held on to it. Took his lumps. It was also nice to see the Phillie player help up the runner.
Hearing TMac announce now compared to then is a totally different vibe and excitement 🤣👍🏼 lets go Phils!
What an incredible video. I didn’t know I needed this, I had no idea!
Thanks to whoever did this.
Hearing Harry Kalas is so special
New Jersey doesn’t have a baseball team but South Jersey will always love the Phillies and Philadelphia teams!
Damn right we will!
This makes Sixers pain go away
I was at the PHI 10-LAD 9 game. I stayed the whole time!
Thanks for assembling some of my favorite memories into one video :D
Schmidt blasting 4 homers in one game is anything but obscure.
Dang makes me have a smile ear to ear
I always get weepy seeing highlights from Roy Halladay's perfect game and no hitter. I always held out hope he would come back and be a pitching coach for the Phills. I still cant believe he is gone.
Werth was my original favorite and when he left for DC, Roy came along and took that space up for me😊
3/24 What a great team this was!! 2008!! Thru-2010!! 😊
That Utley walkoff vs the astros was the first phillies game I ever went to
The Pratt HR @7:43 is one of my all time favorites
Rest in peace harry Kalas
You are missed by Phillies fans everywhere
I opened this hoping for the Goeddel throw, but not expecting it.
Thank you
Pratt's homer was the best. Great call by Scott Graham.
i was really little at that time, so i don’t remember he game,
aside from it from it being a walk off against the red sox, what made scott graham so pumped
damn i took for granted how good this team was during my childhood. Those teams were littered with hall of famers i want this level of baseball and the excitement of Red october back in south philly hopefully this is the year
Was hoping for the Bob Dernier inside the park homerun but this was Great!

“For who? For my teammates.
For what? To win” -Aaron Rowand
when asked about Kenny Loftons comments when he pulled up instead of making a similar catch and Lofton said to reporters “for who, for what?”
I was there for both of those grand slams at the beginning! Best seats I ever had too, like right behind the dugout
God those 2008 crowds were so great!
Good old days
love this well done man

Scott Graham was a really good play by play announcer, he really didn't deserve to be fired but by doing so we got Scott Franske
I did it. I found the greatest video on youtube
3:08 Why did Biden have to ruin my enjoyment of the Ryan Howard 3 run home run...
How can they not have Ryan Howard in the Hall of Fame.
15:46 that bat flip by j-roll tho 😮
The Phillies, the Kings of Clutch.
You gotta put Wilson Valdez as the game winning pitcher against the Reds in 2011.
or vinny v playing left field lol
Really loved Rauul Ibanez.
Aaron Rowand really loves to run into the wall
I need a copy of Pratts 13th inning Homer against the Red Soxs. My wife and I first Phillies gave together. ❤❤
The kid in the 7 run Phil's comeback makes it. He's gotta be around 20 years old now....
We always see video of the 2nd HR by Rick Wise during his 1971 no hitter. What about the 1st HR?
He didn't play for us for long but no Phillies highlight compilation is complete without a Matt Stairs DEEP INTO THE NIGHT blast off Johnathan Broxton.
Can you find the chase utley and Aaron rowand collision against the cubs
I often forget how long TMac has been with the team
1223LCM people often forget he was actually around in ‘08 too
I’d prefer to forget.
Nothing obscure about that Trillo hit. One of the biggest in Phillies history.
Do “tmac not knowing its a HR” highlights
He's gotta be one of the stupidest people alive
Drew Storen really stunk it up when it counted, it seems. 2012 NLDS and 2015 September series with Mets also come to mind.
PS I remember that Rowand catch off Nady...nasty collision with the wall.
PPS Mitchie Poo's hit was against the Padres. Trevor Hoffman was pitching.
10:40 He actually walked off the Padres, not the Mets.
Expectations were so low for this franchise that lots of this felt accentuated. Damn shame RAJ's dudes ran it into the ground.
The Philadelphia Phillies Love it the Champions of the World yes
Cooooooooooooooch
Apparently the poster doesn't really grasp what obscure means in showing two of the biggest hits in Phillies history, Trillo's triple in the playoffs and Stairs homerun.
love this video! is there anyway you could find Pedro Feliz’s grand slam from 9-29-09?
I can't NOT hear harry kalas and think "Wow"
Wow how I miss Harry K!!!
The following aren't really obscure:
Mike Schmidt's 4 HR game @ Chicago
Mike Schmidt's HR @ Montreal in the game the Phils clinched the NL East
Manny Trillo's triple in game 5 of the 1980 NLCS
George Vukovich's walk off in game 4 of the 1981 Divisional Series
@Studa The 4HR game is literally the definition of obscure...
Stephen, the 4-HR game is the definition of “well-known.”
The good timed
Who called that Todd Pratt HR?
Scott Graham
5:10 for who? My teammates. For what? To win.
Nothing if not consistent.
pa-hat burell pa at burrel!!!
While I love this video how the $&@ can you call some of these “obscure “? Trillo’s triple in the LCS is part of Phillies legend. So is Rowand’s catch.

They showed out for joe and Jill 💪🏾 that was legendary
Todd Pratt almost fell flat on his ass on that HR.....that woud have hurt like a MF.
Harry n Richie n Andy
I’m not talking about this year or the year before but since 2013 to now, the fans have been slacking pretty bad at the games. The attendance is horrible
Because we've been so inconsistent
Makes me pissed cause they should have beat St Louis in 2011. That Phillies team from 2007-2011 should have won 2 World Series Championships.
3:11
is that Joe BIden wtf
It is, yeah. Caught me by surprise too. He's from Scranton and is a Phillies fan.
Any way we can mute Tom McCarthy from all highlights? That would make these so much more magical. He ruins them all with his terrible calls.
Ryan Howard bat drops and better than the show boaters bat flips, just saying...
I saw Biden and stopped watching
Who cares.🤡
3:12 is that Joe and Jill Biden?
The only thing that ruined this clip was Joe Biden. Joe, don’t you or your wife ever come back to Citizens Bank Park ever again!
3:16 you see Joe Biden and Jill Biden
#FJB
Joe Biden looked as confused and feeble then as he does now
Worst. Franchise. Ever.
11:17
Damn that was impressive!

manny trillo's triple is an 'obscure' highlight as opposed to perhaps the single most consequential hit in phillies history?
