I would recommend the iConnectHue app for controlling your Philip hue lights. It's way better than the original app. I'm using this for about a year now and it's awesome.

Thanks, but that doesn't seem like a very elegant way of doing things. I think I would rather have an indicator telling me which apps need to be updated.so that it's not persistent.
Travis Shannon when u open the app with the blue dots next to it, the blue dot goes away it's jut telling you that it is done updating. As for apps the need to be updated goes.. the App Store app will have a certain burger on it depending on how many apps need to be updated

It means that it is a new app/recently updated app that you haven't open yet. When you open the app, the dot disappear
