lived inOC my whole life. didn't take me 15 minutes on my first trip to santa cruz to realize they should have the surf city title. hb is walled and flat all summer. gets as good as santa cruz maybe 4 or 5 times in the winter if that
HB may have won in court, but the caliber and quality of waves speak for themselves, Santa Cruz all the way ( Trestles, the Wedge, and Rincon do get a nod tho )
i'm not knocking hb but waves are way better n mor consistent up north .... have a friend who lives up there and he surfs sooo much more than down here .... everything from scotts to ocean beach ..... u can find somewhere to surf everyday yr round ( w shape ) ....
Grew up as a young grom surfing HB...moved up to Santa Cruz in the late 80's ....hands down Santa Cruz best surf in the State of Ca

H.B. is hardly ever this good. Mushington Beach California is very consistent at being inconsistent.
HB you can get a ticket for surfing.. so not HB
Santa Cruz often windy stormy sharky and angry locals. I'll take HB
San Diego is better than HB
Santa Cruz is solid
San Clemente has the best competitive surfers. Trestles is in San Diego county 😢
