I met Mr Powell only once and I feel lucky for that. He was one of those people who had that inner something (magnetic) that is seen rarely. He was very intelligent, understood many languages ( at least 14) and had lived in many countries, understanding different cultures rather than only speculating.
What he said at the time was unpopular with many, but was popular with over 70% of the UK population (according to polls 74%) and has proven to all be true.
Enoch Powell and Tony Benn, two of the greatest statesmen we ever had.

Judging by the vindictive actions of the EU towards the UK after the leave vote. In my view it is plain to see why the majority wanted to leave.
