Thanks Frank, glad your getting some info from them. When I started this series I thought I was the only one restoring a vintage TC. I have been proven wrong. Wish you all the luck with your restoration.
Hi Dale thanks for your videos. May I ask about the Suzuki TS185 1982 that I have picked up here in Australia for $1500. A mate said to take off the oil injection system and run pre mix in case the oil injection fails. The oil injection system lubes the bottom end in the TS185 am I correct. Wondering how do I check this system is working. Thanks again
In my opinion...I would not disconnect the oil injection. These systems rarely fail, I would since its new to you...put premix in and start the machine and watch the oil lines to see if the oil is being pumped. you may have to take the banjo fittings loose where they go in to the engine and just let the oil pump out. When you do this hold the oil pump lever wide open so this proceedure doesnt take so long. If oil is coming out your system is probably working as it should. You are correct in thinking that the bottom left side bearing is lubed by the pump. On a Suzuki you cant just put premix in and forget it. If you are going to disconnect the pump and run premix you need to pull the crankshaft and remove the left side oil slinger otherwise the left bearing will not get enough oil. There are folks that have not done this and somehow get by, but I would not try it. In the day when I worked for a Suzuki dealer we would remove the slinger on all our race bikes, that we used premix in. Hope this help you. Thanks for following the channel.
Have just bought a TC125 wuth the dual range transmission, am I correct in saying normal motorbike oil goes in both the oil tank and the gearbox ? or are there two different types/grades I should be using ? Do you still premix the gasoline or put it straight in ? Thanks :-)
Hi, thank you for your comment, you should put air cooled 2 cycle oil in the oil tank.( I use Yamalube in all mine but there are many brands, just dont use outboard motor oil for water cooled engines) The transmission gets a good quality 10w30 motor oil like you would use in your car. As long as your oil pump is working correctly on your bike, there is no need to premix gas, just use pump gas without alcohol if you can find it. In my area premium fuel does not have alcohol. Thanks again for your comment and for watchin.
Yes, some of the early engines had the bleed screws in the banjo bolts. Only issue these days is the little gasket is no longer available for the screws, which make it hard to get a seal on the screws. I have found some fiber washers for electronics' that work pretty well.
No I just use a good 10w30 in the transmission. What I thought I was taking about was I use yamalube in all my 2 cycle engines weather it is premixed or injection. That includes my lawnboy mower and weed eater. Thanks for watchin.
Best system I've seen to date for purging oil lines. Simple and effective. Bravo!
Yep works good, thanks for watchin
Good info on the oil pump system. Bike is Looking Fantastic!!
Thanks again Phil
Thank you for all the videos. Working on a TC also, they have been a big help.

Nice work. Sure is a pretty bike!
The Suzuki TC's were indeed hansom bikes.

Just did my rv 90 that way but the banjo bolts have a screw on the ends.Must be for that procedure.

When you say you use yamalube for all of it do you mean the crank case oil as well? Thanks

@@montana2strokeracer alright thanks for the fast response, and thank you for all the videos helped me a lot with my tc100 rebuild.
Glad to be some help, someone else here was rebuilding a TC100. They seem to be quite popular. Thanks again for watchin.
