I have to say, the Ouachita series has given me a bit more confidence in exploration. I've followed you for years, and your surety of everything in the Ozarks made me feel like I should only be out there if I was as sure of my route as Matt... to see you in explorer mode and just testing things out in the ways I would makes me feel immensely more comfortable with where I am as a novice overlander.

I absolutely love the Ouachitas. They are GORGEOUS and close to home. I can easily spend the whole day exploring and only use 1/4 tank of fuel!!! There are so many interesting and beautiful things to see. Forked Mountain has an interesting story and a unique feature that would be interesting for you to feature in a video some time. Thanks for another excellent episode.

In Tennessee if there is not a berm, gate, sign or barrier of some sort, it’s legal to travel if it is an established trail. A lot of trails over here MVUM doesn’t show an accurate representation of the trail. Not sure if it is the same in AK. I appreciate you being cautious especially on video but that is what the ranger told me in TN. I’d be curious what a ranger would tell you over there.
I haven’t been posting lately but wanted to post really quick. I really really appreciate you explaining why we can’t be just taking any trail. Very informative and great info. Also reminder to get the baseball caps for sale!!! Great content keep it up!

I’ve found multiple trails and roads that don’t show up or are in the wrong place on the MVUM. Most of the ones they were actually closed had a sign or berm blocking them.
Some friends and I were in the Ouachitas last weekend! We camped at Broken Bow Lake in Oklahoma, and crossed into Arkansas via forest roads. We unfortunately had a helluva time finding dispersed camping with all the hunters, but it was absolutely gorgeous there. I’d like to return when it’s not hunting season to explore some more. And nearby Hot Springs OHV Park was great!
That may be the best Ariel view of forked mountain I've ever seen. Behind that gate at the campground there's a waterfall down that trail. Great video Matt.

an "unassuming mud hole" I remember someone nose diving about three feet into an unassuming mud hole once on TH-cam. Oh wait...
Any suggestions on clean up to get rid of the most possible mud? Also do you power wash your rig at home or car wash?

You know walking around like you do it might sound funny but just to be safe it wouldn't be a bad idea to have some kind of hunters orange on while deer season is in. Just a thought.

If that crossing you're curious about being legal is off of the road that rhymes with "Flurry Creek" I can put you in contact with the owner. He's cool and allows crossings, just need to get his go-ahead first.

I am in Southaven MS, close to Memphis and I'm getting a new Bronco on the 4th. This will be my first off road vehicle, my first 4wd. I usually drive to a trail and hike in to tent camp, I've never really driven up a trail. I hike in the Ozarks but would like to know where to go with my bronco. Any advise or videos you can point me to would be awesome

How much further north to reach snow from there?
That’s a tough question. We got a lot of snow last winter. Missouri gets a decent amount
