- I love this recording. I know that it isn't the way God communicates to us. He uses the Bible and the Holy Spirit to say the things He wants to say to us. But this is so funny. What would you have to say to God if He called you?

I haven't heard this since I was 10 years old. Now I'm 57 and it still tickles me to death. They used to play this record every Sunday morning on "Memories" WSAT (1280 AM).

The first time I heard this, I was cracking up 🤣 laughing so hard. Jerry sounded just like an old man with his voice shaky when he said 'Sir?'.
For a school show and tell or some other assignment or something, I learned this and acted it our in front of my 7th grade class-?in ‘74 or somewhere around that time. I can almost remember it word for ward.😂

A couple of years back, I finally found a place to live after being homeless for 7 years and a veteran. When I finally got all of my stuff out of storage. I found my old record album. Just like the one you see above And I bought a Victorla suitcase record player off of Amazon so I could listen to this whole album again.

Ive Got This On Vinyl I got it for my mother shes got a scatchy copy of it Knowing how much She likes this I got Her Another copy of this record from the Good Will
+Robert Mcfarland I love this routine. I'm glad you and your mother like it too. If the record isn't too scratchy, you should try to find a to put it on a CD before it gets too bad. There is software online that is free and can take the audio track out of this video, then you can put it on your computer, then record it to a CD.

My cousin's husband played this cassette/LP (can't remember the exact source) when I was about 9 or ten for me and my Mom (my Mom was quite the church goer). I remember her getting quite a laugh out of it...as did I! :)

In all these years I never knew who this recording was by. A pastor gave me a tape of it decades ago, but it had no identification. The internet can be amazing in honest searching for information and identification.

There was a song I think called Homer jones on that album where Homer was build a house he make the cheapest and in end the boss gave him the house wish I could find the lyrics

I used to listen to this on record wayback in the day. I used to turn the record player to full blast, first to hear Johnny Carson's theme song which I loved, then I'd try very hard to hear God's voice. Never could though lol. Modern-day heresy was already alive and well even in '72.
I got to find out when this was recorded. In grammar school. For show and tell, I reenacted this. It came to mind while talking to someone just now. I had remembered it word for word from late ‘60s or early ‘70s ( as long as the record was playing along.😂

+Robert Mcfarland There is nothing to forgive. The Bible doesn't require us to use capital letters when we use God's name. It started way back as a way to distinguish who we were talking about when we wrote about God. It isn't required.
I use caps to indicate a deity like God. Another god as in an idol, I use lower case cause they ain't it!

I used to compete this as if it was Richard Pryor hey sorry I had to use that analogy .what an oxymoronic type of thing.
I like Richard Prior version of Noah's Ark, especially when God says "I'm gonna make it rain for 40 days and 40 nights and wait for the sewers to back up!
But can you just imagine Noah building this ark that took 120 years, preaching about the rain and God for 120 years and the bunch of people being the morons they were, just, well, missed the boat. Can imagine the heckling Noah got from all the people when he preached about rain, and it hadn't rained before, and imagine Noah trying to explain what rain was, having not seen it before. No experience, and the crowd heckling him like "Hey Noah, did you say that's an ark? What the h... is an ark?" When if Noah could explain it this way, like a big boat. "Oh yeah, well big man, how can you get that monster to some water, like how do you figure that one??" Noah smiles finally and says, "Not worried about that. I just let the water come to it!"
It was actually Bill Cosby, not Richard Prior, that did the Noah's Ark routine. I had it memorized as a child.
