Yes, in a weird way, I am glad Day lost his sight, because it helped him to find Mhok and Mhok to find him, and that makes it worth 1-2 years in the dark, because the light at the end of the tunnel was worth it--for both Day and Mhok.

@@onnacarr6938Well technically he had been blind for a year already before he met Mhok, together they spent almost a year as well and then they were three years apart before reuniting and Day successfully getting the surgery... so I guess in total he was blind for around five years of his life
But I'm very happy they found each other this way
@@snshn143 Thank you for clarifying the timeline. I was fully aware that Day did not immediately meet Mhok after going blind. My comment, to clarify, was to agree with @katenorman6137 that sometimes, difficult things are worth it if they lead to "home," though the journey may be a long one for both parties.
I think most would agree that even if Day had remained blind and even if it had taken more than a year to meet Mhok, even if it took more than 2 years to realize they cared about one another, and more than 3 years of separation from one another to get back together, Mhok was worth the time and the difficulties.
ATM, unfortunately, I do not feel the same about Day, given how episode 10-12 played out and the lack of care, empathy, and personal growth/development shown by Day in those episodes, but that is a somewhat unrelated aside to the topic at hand and has already been fully discussed by Byulsarang on their channel, th-cam.com/video/Z9vc-9fFacA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cq38kZKvjGgguIUX.

@@stardrummie Ruelle wrote some songs specifically for the series and some were songs she had already written. Of course, there were a lot of other songs too. And there was a composer who created the instrumental music.
