This is what cruising is all about - exploring interesting places, sailing and enjoying passages. Excellently narrated video and great sense of humour 😅 Subscribed ❤
Always enjoy your videos, but particularly this one. I grew up on Rousay (prounounced “R-ow-see”) and my parent’s house faces out into Eynhallow Sound where you went through the Burger Roost tidal race. It is a formidable place. I’ve seen many boats pass through and get the tides wrong, engine failures and all sorts. One guy went below and closed the hatches while his spreaders kept hitting the water until finally it spat him out the other end. 😄 I’m stumped at then yellow object and can only guess that it’s something to do with EMEC and the tidal energy, but I thought it would have been charted if that was the case. Really enjoyed your rendition of Cripple Creek too. 🙌🏻
Nice one, Thanks!. @ 16:15...y'all transitioned from autopilot to windvane, sorry if it's a dumb question, but apart from saving on power, what was your strategic thinking here?
Hi there. No deep strategy involved I'm afraid. When sailing in open water we just like to use the hydrovane if possible. It saves on power consumption and it's one less electrical piece of equipment we're wearing out. We find the windvane's not that practical for shorter journeys, especially around the islands and in lochs. The wind generally shifts around so much, it's a bit of a pain in the arse constantly needing to adjust it.
Great video and insight into a nice gentle passage up to Shetland

More Banjo in the future, just for you 😀
Nice to hear from you guys been a while since we heard your voices … and Miles whats with the man bun?
Yeah, we've been busy the last few weeks and got a bit behind with the editing.
The man bun.... It’s a portable pillow for spontaneous naps.
