Finally Yeltsin couldn't erase all Soviet symbology like he hypothetically would wanted; it would mean to erase the flag of the military division (in the beginning of the parade) that put the Soviet one in the Reichstag. I think if Great Patriotic War hypothetically never happened, it would be much easier to erase some Soviet symbology, though some toponyms would stay.
He wanted to erase the USSR yet was the only Russian federation President to stand upon Lenin’s tomb. Unlike today where the President resides in front of the tomb
@@evyn04 If Putin had his wayhe would erase it. Only thing stopping him is that he and his party would lose the votes of old pensioners who are nostalgic for the old USSR. The Russia he wants to bring back is the one that had a Tsar running it.

Roger Capot At the time, Russia didn't really have a lot of symbolism for the new country since the Soviet Union collapsed 5 years earlier, and the only symbolism they had was the Double headed eagle, either that or the hammer and sickle
Yes I agree. 1996 is the last year the mausoleum is used by the president. now he is hiding behind panels. it's scyzophrenia, there are red flags, stars, sickles, hammers ... but no more lenin. russia is no longer communist, it juggles with its past, little by little soviet symbols are disappearing. (renovation of the Bolshoi, the Moscow City Hall, the White House, the Kremlin, new army uniforms, no more militsia but police...) that's life.
@borislych Spirit of USSR will never be forgotten. The period from 1945 to 1991 was the time during Russia reached a superpower status never seen before or since in Russian history. USSR will forever be an inspiration for ordinary Russians to overthrow their corrupt government.
Aziz abd One reason was Boris Yeltsin wanted Russia to distance herself from the Soviet era, and heavy military parades was seen as being too Soviet. Secondly, Russia had no more money. Thirdly, Red Square and the surrounding area was built up after the Soviet era. And on one side of the Moscow Historical Museum the Iverski Gate was rebuilt, which permanently blocks one of the vehicle approach routes. Even today it is a tall order to have vehicles come though and they can only enter on one side.
Aziz abd I agree, the parades in the Soviet era were much better organized, even when compared to recent parades. You will never see parades as they did them in the Soviet era ever again.

Why were the Coat of Arms of Russia on the top of the troops peaked caps and not the Emblem of the Armed Forces?

I never thought that I would hate the Russian military parade. But this video proves me otherwise.

Yes.

Yeltsin traitor
Because they never play russian☭ anthem only patrolic musics before but not now.
That’s silly lol. I don’t particularly like post 1993 Russia.
Позволь немного не согласится. Любить Россию нужно всегда. Другое дело, что Ельцин, Горбачев и другие - предатели.
why i can't see vehicle/tank parade ?
1990 was the last year vehicles went through Red Square. They did not return to Red Square until the 2008 parade.

Russia was literally in the sewer back during this time. That's why the parades didn't look very good back then.
Only food thing about it was they still used the tribune and it wasn't covered up.
