you won't believe me, but (in my opinion) there's better svt dances than clap.. and that's saying a lot; as clap is an AMAZING dance.

Home;Run is probably one of the best and creative k-pop choreographies I've seen. Their musicality is really what does it for me. They're good at expressing or embodying(is this even a word?haha lmao) their music whenever they dance.

Seventeen's "Clap" is supposed to be all about how Seventeen are a self-produced group, so in the MV they are showing how they create everything themselves. In the MV it shows them creating the sets and holding meetings to discuss the production, and editing the video, etc. The lyrics are about how they hope people clap for them and they want to receive a lot of applause, etc. because they put a lot of effort into everything they do.
Pretty much everything you see in the MV is a reference to something from a previous MV or something to do with Seventeen. So, if you really get to know Seventeen as a group, you will start to see how this MV connects to their other MVs.
That is also why they created the funny part at the beginning of the dance practice showing them doing everything themselves. But that isn't necessarily how they prepare to film all their dance practices. This dance practice video footage was done special because of the theme of the song.
Seventeen's choreography is designed to hit every beat of the song, so the speed of their moves depends on the speed of the song at that moment.
Ugh, Teenage-- my fav SVT album😍A full length album and I never skip one song. It's such a gem. Not sure if you're interested in watching them now or if you want to wait until you finish all the title tracks, but this album also has MVs for the unit song b-sides Trauma (hip hop), Lilili Yabbay (performance), Pinwheel (vocal), and Change Up (leaders: S.Coups, Woozi, and Hoshi).

Yo i remember when this came out back in November 2017, it was around the time when i visited my sister in Seattle (judging from your cap you live in Seattle too huh Casey?)... we were jamming to this song HARD in the car on our way up to Glacier/Mt. Baker haha fun times! This is still one of my fav SEVENTEEN MVs (alongside Call Call Call) just for those trippy software glitch effects lol.... and i agree about IZ*ONE and identity... For me, IZ*ONE & SEVENTEEN are like sibling groups (or even each other's gender counterparts haha)... They even shared the same dance practice studios! Those dance studios have witnessed lots of amazing choreos over the years...
Funny enough I am actually in Utah hah! Seventeen has been amazing man I really enjoy them. That sounds like an awesome memory! What a stacked dance room lol

maybe cuz woozi has a hand in producing all their title tracks & almost all of their b sides, so that sound is consistent 🤷🏻♀️
btw woozi just released his solo mixtape 'Ruby' (there's only 1 song) & imo from that, you can tell how much of his flavor/sound he puts into svt music (but id save it for maybe after you finish all the title tracks 😅)

i really recommend you also watch live performances may it be for award shows or concerts, it's really topnotch. seventeen's bsides are also very good so it'd be cool if you check out their albums. glad you're having fun with svt
