The first two mystery dungeon games, can’t be beat, the first ever actual Pokémon games that have compelling story and make you actually have feels, the face reactions and the music does it for you, honestly the first two are the best Pokémon games, in my opinion, I can cry to this, these games where my childhood, and the more I grew up the more I appreciated them for what they are and what they did that no other Pokémon game did at the time, story and a damn good job at it, every time I’m in a situation a song from either games will match my emotions like twins man, this game has given me more life and actually thought me stuff no other game could, spread love to these games, these are the most blessed games ever
Super came close to explorers, but...there were just some things that held it back...like the partner for example...yes s/he is the most interesting character....but be honest...they tried to make him/her to interesting and was more confusing as too who s/he was...and the plot felt like it was trying to do way too much at once...the reason games these games worked...this one in particular...is because it is so simple...way I see it, if you have a simple story that people can relate to...than you'll hit a wider audience and can flesh details out a lot more and make it hit harder than an overly complicated plot. Explorers..for as confusing as a time travel plot can be...kept the story grounded and made it simple enough to easily follow where it was going...gates and super I felt forgot that and went way overboard with the action and drama...guess when it comes to storytelling...less is more...
sky was my favorite pokemon game overall (including main series games), but rescue team was close. I think explorers had a much cooler concept as well as much more interesting side characters like grovyle to boost the story. But the feels that came with rescue team were legit.
Sky was incredible, but Super and Gates do not deserve the criticism it got. I really enjoyed playing Gates, and realised that the only reason why PMD fans don't like it was because they wanted another perfect game like the explorers series.
@@wandering4104 funny thing is that, especially compared to Super, Sky isn't near perfect. Not even close. I'm saying this as someone with Nostalgia bias for Explorers of Time
People who have never experienced these games are genuinely so unlucky. With the remasters finally coming to Switch this is an opportunity for anyone who has ever described themselves as even the slightest Pokemon fan, to truly experience a Pokemon story that is compelling at every step. The story from Rescue Team and Explorers is just so perfectly crafted and it hits me everytime. Even as a 20 year old getting ready to replay, I know I’m going to cry here. Do yourselves a favour. Ignore any hate the game is getting, ignore people saying it’s not worth $60 or $80 depending on where you live. Purchase it when it comes out and love every minute of it.
Well said, I'm looking forward to getting the remaster. Red Rescue Team was the first ever mystery dungeon I played and I was crying my eyes out at the end. Even now I'm playing Red rescue team on an emulator due to the lack of my DS and a dead Gameboy. The feels are still there, I as a 21 year old man can attest to that.
I'm so glad I got to play the remake. Since i never played the original. I only played the second one. And I cried at some points. I cant wait for explorers to be remade, but I'm not ready to cry again
...legend tells of the onion cutting ninjas, in the lands of emotional TH-cam video comment sections. It must've been them, striking us once again. We are powerless to the onion cutting ninjas. Always.
The feeling of leaving the place that gave you comfort and security now turned against you. It's a sad feeling to say the least. But, your partner as well as a few other distinct friends are there with you and always will be to give your support and help you get through all the challenges. Being chased farther and farther never knowing if you'll be back is a powerful tool in evoking feelings from people. This game just pulled it off in just such a beautiful way. Thank you Zame for capturing that feeling of friendship and many other feelings. It means a lot.
I remember this from my childhood. I’d head to bed after a long day at school and playing around outside. 7:00pm bedtime. Climb in bed, plug in the GBA SP charger, boot er up and play. I remember that comfortable feel, happily playing and following the storyline. This is one of the few that stuck with me all these years later. It’s an incredible song. I can sit on the back deck, look at the trees, gras, birds, the occasional doe. All of it gorgeous in it’s own individual way. I look back now, not wishing to go back to that same comfortable childhood, but cherishing it, knowing it wouldn’t be the same to just re-live it.
I cried so much at the end of this game. I know I cry to every game I end even if it's not sad but this one... I needed so much to cry i was with my sister I said "I need to go very fast" and I locked myself in my room... For like one hour
Speed it up. You get Gladion's theme. Sadly, this mystery was never answered by Nintendo in Ultra Sun (roughly 1.75x speed. Listen to Gladion's theme in normal speed, then this in 1.75, you'll hear they share the same melody.)
The theme of bailing in the crack of dawn to outrun a lynch mob after they've been convinced you're causing the end of the world. Old Pokemon was dark, man.
Okay, I knew what I was getting into when I clicked on the video because I've heard this song a thousand times, but I wasn't expecting my chest to tighten and my eyes to tear up within the first 10 seconds. I really. Really. Missed this game and it makes me so happy to hear this. This game was my first Pokemon game. I was a Torchic and Chikorita was my partner. Back then, I didn't have a phone or computer to listen to this theme on, but I had a camera. I made a 15 minute video of my camera facedown with my GameBoy playing right next to it so I could listen to this theme over and over again. God bless this version of it. It's so flippin' beautiful. The little background things at places like 1:44 make my heart cry out. It's so heart-wrenchingly somber.
random fact:if you put the pieces together,it kind of it is canonized that treecko was your partner in rescue team in explorers of sky, grovylle has a human partner, which you could easily argue that the main character returned to the human form after the game, probably a side effect of dialga`s madness, the main character probably cound`t reach the sea of time or defeat dialga (extremely umprobable, they would have defeated all legendaries by that time) and yeah,i`m pretty sure that they simply couldn`t reach the hidden land, thus, they worked to defeat dialga another proof is that treecko is a possible partner in the rescue team and for last,i`m pretty sure that grovyle was so well suceeded in getting the time gears, because he had experience as both as fugitives, and to defeat legendaries
Then the fact that his best friend forget about him its more sad than it was before... ...But just like in Portals to Infinity, true friendship never forgets, even after a brainwash, we still can remember our friend Grovyle. And he will always remember the human that make him who he was. Even after all the time that passes, the friendship and the achievements that it made will never be forgotten. He is and will always be our friend. (Yes, Grovyle its my PMD friend in Blue and Red.)
Uh, you DO know that Grovyle lives very far in the future, not just a couple if years. Plus, Grovyle lives on Hidden Land, otherwise how did he meet Celebi?
1-time travel is complicated,i`ll explain more later 2-grovyle most likely simply did not decided to evolve, that is why he looked so young,if we are talking about leveling by levels,he probaly could be using a item, also personalities change when someone evolve,as said numerous times in pokemon (most times in anime) that means he`s not the kid on rescue team, neither he is a grumpy old man whitout hope 3-by getting the other 2 pieces of the puzzle that i said,he could be 80,but did not change in any way because no important event changed it (as a evolution) 4-as i said in my theory, they couldn`t reach dialga, they didn`t had enough time, the two probaly became stranded there, and in the meanwhile they discovered celebi, but they did not parted instantly because they would have time to find locations which the time gears were 5-being two legendary heroes makes more sense than being random people which somehow did not get bad as pratically everyone else in the future,i`m 90% sure that having saved the world once, gave them hope to continue fighting, these random pokemons couldn`t take on dialga, but they could, again, they would have defeated all legendaries 6-look,grovyle is..too random, sceptile would make more sense, also,he`s a starter, there are 300 pokemons by that time, and a possible partner in rescue team, that did not yet evolved to sceptile, and can steal 5 time gears, something epic since apparentely it never happened before, just as defeating a lot of legendaries,as pokemons which did not even evolve yet,and fully evolved pokemons (team A.C.T) Couldn`t even defeat them
@@francogamer7794 But in pmd1 they were a bunch of weak nobodies too, you know. Also, if that were the case, then how did they even get to hidden highland without the relic fragment? and how come the human from pmd1 never got to use dimensional scream? frim what grovyle says, its connected to the time gears, but in the present it activated to events not related to the time gears, so the dimensional scream only became messed uo after the flow of time stopped, which means it should have triggered in pmd1, but it never did. Also if Grovyle was 80,how would he be so quick on his feet? he'd be too old for adventuring. Also, when Grovyle takes Dusknoir back to the future he says "though the parting hurts... the future is in your hands." and the player knew it was about them and their partner, not Grovyle. Which means this human wasn't very close to Grovyle as originally thought. Dimensional Scream works on trust, not friendship.
1-as i said, the human didn`t travelled through time,he travelle through space,a better question,WHY GROVYLE DOES NOT USES THE DIMENSIONAL SCREAM? well,it depends on luck as dusknoir said,it was rare, dusknoir also didn`t had, probaly, grovyle didn`t had just because bad luck 2-grovyle came to the future knowing they would dissapear,he sacrificed himself, even if he didn`t,your partner was more close to you than grovyle, and by dissapearing that does not mean they lived there, instead their actual forms lived there, the flow of time would most likely bug, they would exist as their forms before dialga, yes, they did not yet entered the hidden land before dialga went mad, they just reached hidden land, and probaly went back 3-grovyle knewn the unown language as he read that, how he knewn that, does books or teachers exist on the future? you do not need a relic fragment to reach hidden land, they could have found another form, other thing to note,is that they could have gotten the relic fragmentc first, and lost it in the time travel portal, which your partner found right after it on that sharpedo home,he most likely stayed for a day or two with that before he found the player 4-the best proof,is that team A.C.T are on super mystery dungeon,it wans`t a far future, they were already a little old on rescue team, also the same continent from explorers is on there, there is even a mission by a grovyle to rescue a pink celebi, similar,he also fit for adventuring?even if you do not like it,it is canon 5-triggered on rescue team? what??? 6-he being 80 was just an example,as i said team A.C.T are on supewr mystery dungeon, fit for adventuring 8-im pmd rescue team they were nobodies, yes, the thing is that the player kind of was a `chosen one` in explorers of sky most likely he just had retained some of his original strength
So many PMD remasters! Also, I just said "maybe just ever so slightly smoother on the pan flute" on the temporal tower one, and look what I found now! As smooth, sweet and emotional as can be. Good freaking work. (Also featured artist in /r/MysteryDungeon, well deserved!)
The first two pokemin mystery dungeon games, red/blue and sky are literally the best pokemkn games ever in my opinion, the storyline is perfect, and this really makes me emotional,

I really feel lucky that I got to play Red Rescue Team. I'm only 13 and I LOVE old technology, I begged my mom to buy me a GBA SP (I got it in 2018) and a few months later I went into a second hand video game store and saw PMD in the case of GBA games. I didn't know what PMD was at the time but I asked my mom if she would buy it for me, she did and i was didn't know if the game would be good or not, Well it's now my most favorite game of all time. I am a Torchic and my partner is a Totodile.
This game had the biggest impact on me over any game I've ever played. I was 12 and cried. 100% the game following that. Took a while. Years later I played again and cried again lol this game gets a 10/10
Being new to pmd games I don’t have much experience or knowledge, it’s not part of my childhood like most, I’ve played gates and am working my way through Blue rescue. But for whatever reason when I entered the pmd community saw people’s comments about their experiences, I felt nostalgic for something I had never played, the community just feels like a nice one to just slide into, just a fun calm community. I’m looking forward delving deeper into this fan base
The onion-cutting ninjask strikes again... I can't find any music more touching in any other Pokemon game, and you amplify its effects. Sincerely, thank you for this wonderful piece of art.
Pokemon mystery dungeon... My Childhood. The first pokemon game I've play. I don't regret it. This game was so much important for me. A beautiful story, wonderful pokemons with there owns personnalities... Blue team was my first choice during a while. And even if now, Explorer of Sky is my favorite, Blue is still important to me. For the moment, I don't played the remake, but I want to do if as fast as I can. To go back in this world one more time. To enjoy with my partner, to cry with him... To be a kid, another time, just for a moment
Well, damn. This is utterly amazing. There are few people who can make a theme that was already incredible sound even better. I'm very happy to say that you've accomplished that.
I never played the original until after I played DX, but the DX version of this section is the first time a game legitimately made me cry. (and this wouldn't be the first time this game would make me cry)
Man, I just discovered your channel searching for some Gen4 remasters, you have serious skill in these. You deserve far many more subscribers and fans. Looking forward to more!
New sub here, lovely. But what if we looked at something... Uncommon? There's not enough work done on "In the morning sun" and "Living spirit" those two songs from PMD2 needs some love. Also, teach me lol. Making music is difficult, what do you use yourself?
Jet's power is great. But to actually force a GBJ? T'would've been done during the two-week-long dry streak, known as the Great Baby Wail, for it caused lamentations in all who starved for a GBJ.
I literally have no clue how big of a coincidence just happened cause I'm at the fugitive part in MD: Blue Rescue team and this shows up in my recommended as I'm in Mt.Blaze lol
I was first emotional when I heard this song Nowadays I'm scared because I have to go through three dungeons in a row two of which have bosses I'm terrified to fight
Cried at work during my break when I found this but don't care, totally worth for remembering rescue team and explorers and totally going back to play them
I can see why people thinks this is Gladion's theme. The similarities between the two are the melody but different paces and notes and motivations. This song is sad but encouraging to run away to clear your name. Gladion's theme is more aggressive and serious as he did run away from his crazy Ultra Beast possessed mother and trying to be more stronger to save her and his sister Lillie.

I am a Torchic and my partner is a Totodile.
wait till you play the next one ;)
Your not the only legend here. I’m 15 and I was a champ at this game
Same
Still on this day is wanna my greatest memory musical remastered of all time
This game had the biggest impact on me over any game I've ever played. I was 12 and cried. 100% the game following that. Took a while. Years later I played again and cried again lol this game gets a 10/10
Don't mind me, just crying, be right back.
Gosh, I loved this game so much.
So peaceful and beautiful. I've never played the first game, but I still can immensely appreciate this!
Peaceful yet powerfull is the only way i could describe this, you're really killing it with these powerfull remixes Zame. Thanks for that m8 : )
It makes me happy and sad and hopeful, all at the same time. Beautiful ❤️
Yep. Gladion... THAT IS WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE! Glad you pointed it out.. Awesome
The worst part is that this isn't even the saddest part of the game.
Who's here after the remakes were announced?
Thank you papa zame
Me, I’m happy its getting a remake!
@@someguy8535 who isn't?!
@@soda8335 yep, it's time to go back and listen to all the tracks again and cry
Me. I’m even playing and I must begrudgingly admit that I did cry during this part.
Just had TH-cam recommend me this. Instant nostalgia! Thank you for making this!
When i listening this song i remenber mi father(grandfather) i grow up with him all my life, now he goes to a long long travel to the eternity....
The onion-cutting ninjask strikes again... I can't find any music more touching in any other Pokemon game, and you amplify its effects. Sincerely, thank you for this wonderful piece of art.
omgosh... *cries*
Another great remaster. I love your remasters and remixes, Zame. :')
Estuve 5 dias sin Internet en los que me perdí tus publicaciones y me perdi el hecho de alabar como siempre tu trabajo.
Loved playing these games growing up. Truly emotional, and incredible experiences
God this is good. You and TGH are on par in my eyes at the moment, and that’s a huge thing.
oh my lord, you've remastered the best PMD song ever...Memories :_: And what an amazing remaster it is
Thank you so much for bringing back remastered music of my childhood. This piece and Mt. Blaze from the ost really bring back memories.
This just remember me when I played is such a good game!! I almost cried remembering the fugitives part and the end! Thx so much!
AHH YES! This is my favourite theme from any game! Thank you for remastering it, it's beautiful!
I doubt im the only one but this part got me everytime I replayed this game. For the 13nth time
I'm crying right now...
Now this brings back some memories. Nearly cried when I heard this again
What a beautiful Melody to wake up to. I recently played red Rescue Team and this has to be one of my favs! Thanks for a good morning start☺💕
Pretty sure he uses FL Studio.
So how are you going to GBJ Simpleflips? on his sliding Rom Hacks?
Jet's power is great. But to actually force a GBJ? T'would've been done during the two-week-long dry streak, known as the Great Baby Wail, for it caused lamentations in all who starved for a GBJ.
Simpleflips Militia here
I literally have no clue how big of a coincidence just happened cause I'm at the fugitive part in MD: Blue Rescue team and this shows up in my recommended as I'm in Mt.Blaze lol
God bless. Good luck on your journey.
Zame, thank you for continuing to enliven this beautiful series and music. I appreciate a lot.
Now i understand why Gladion’s theme shares a leitmotif with this theme
Just perfect, thanks for this remix ! Your work is wondeful ^^
Impossible not to like this amazing track
Nothing to see here, just a man reliving his most prized childhood memories
Can’t wait for this remastered!!!
I was first emotional when I heard this song
Nowadays I'm scared because I have to go through three dungeons in a row two of which have bosses I'm terrified to fight
i'm cry for some reason but i'm very happy
damn this is soo good. balm for the soul!
Reminds me of my childhood ❤️
Remix hits everything it should, awesome job!
Cried at work during my break when I found this but don't care, totally worth for remembering rescue team and explorers and totally going back to play them
This is absolutely beautiful and peaceful to listen to.
It has been years now...
Oh man oh man oh man...
Time goes on but story lasts for ever.
Now a Tree of Life - Roots remix and I can die in peace😇
omfg this channel is great :D any channel with good PMD remixes is 10/10 xD

Zame, I relate to your channel banner on a spiritual level, Gen 5 is the best gen :)
0:56 is that "on the beach at dusk" i'm hearing?
Beautiful music
I subscribed...
This is so beautiful and it bring back memories...
I felt ao guilty :'(
Holy moly... This is beautiful. 😢
