The vascular cambium differentiates and divides to produce xylem to the inside and phloem to the outside... thus the interior of the stem is old, lignified xylem (stained red in your simulation), and active, metabolically active phloem continues to the outside. if the most basic components of your video are wrong, how can anyone use this as a learning resource?
In case you are still curious, it’s because the inner layer of Xylem is dead and becomes compressed to eventual heartwood while the outer layer of phloem is alive and doesn’t get compacted. The reason this happens is so the trunk grows thicker and able to support more branches and leaves and hence more seeds. By comparison, the phloem layer just needs to be able to accommodate the increase in sugars produced so it doesn’t need to grow as quickly
im pretty sure at 1:27 there is a mistake, you show the primary phloem on the inside and primary xylem on the outside of the vascular cambium
yeah its wrong

Why the cambium is more active towards the inner than the outer side..Please explain..
