I am from st Vincent so looking at these does not surprised me at all, fresh and ready for the kitchen thank you so much for letting people from all over the world see what we grow in the Caribbean. Back home so people have in there back yards food ready to reap, i can remember so much farmers left home early in the morning without breakfast with there fork , cutlass and hoe to till the land after a few months depend on what they plant it's reaping time. But i can tell you farming is not an easy job.
I love the video and you take the it shows everything thank for you share it with the world
I stopped in Marabella briefly to get roti while in Trinidad this year. Now I know that if I go back, I'll need to go to the market. Thanks!

Nice video ! My market for over 30 years. I have seen some familiar faces too.I have been there up to this morning. Nov. 15th 2020.
The market is always the best place to shop for some of your food if there is one near to where you live. Thanks for the video. I haven't really seen much of South Trinidad. I have to arrange for a tour next time.
Extraordinary Food Paradise ............
That’s my market! I’m a Marabella girl through and through!

Dude, thanks for the video. I am from Marabella, Battoo Avenue. I remember going to the market on Sundays with my mother and grandmother, groceries at JTA and end it all with some doubles.
Chris thats the best tip for any street food you buying- look for the longest line.
Thanks Chris for the showing the market tour, it might be trivial to some but I enjoyed seeing Trinidad, my coworker at work is from Trinidad and her mother's maiden name is your last name, could be related if that isn't common last name! she happen to view your carnival videos missing going home this year.

There is no place like home, love meh country bad

Great representing. Keep up the great work on your channel. I learned how to make curry chicken :D
Another good market to go to in the South is Debe market & you will find a long stretch of doubles/Eat Indian sweets vendors there also & San Fernando market on Mucurapo Street is good also.

ÅÅh my old home town till I was 7my be . Horseracing in Union park ,* Kappalanis* Alloums supermarket (HILO) the cinema the Sea and so much more 😁
Love love😍

Nothing like a fresh outdoor market where almost nothing is imported or is sold unmature. Miss those kinds of markets. Closest thing to it is our Farmers Markets.
I also like the market in Chaguanas.
The Roti's & Bake and shark especially!
I miss home
Nice
beautifullll
Yaamie missing surinam!
Anyone knows when is the big market day here....
You did not show the doubles and you did not buy any of the snacks...Ah Disappointed... but good video, I enjoyed seeing the Trini Market.
At 4:02 what was the name of the bundle? I think it was parsley and green onions? Is that something that is traditionally sold together because of it versatility in Trinidad cuisine? Why didn't you show the doubles that you got?!?!? Man, I would kill for some authentic doubles! haha Sorry for all the questions, if you even answer. I'm just intrigued in the culture of other countries haha.
Mark Linden It is called chive ! in Trinidad and it is also know as green onions and there is thyme also in the bundle ! and yes it is a staple ingredient for cooking with in Trinidad cuisine !! :}:}
The bundle is called green seasoning & it consists of chive or green onions, a sprig or two of parsley & a couple stalks of thyme. Yes it is sod together, because those are key ingredients in our blended green seasoning that we use on all our meats/foods when cooking. You can get larger bundles of the same combination or you can also buy them separately.
Missing home now
Not bad. But cannot compare with markets in Berbice where we have more abundance of fresh produce
Nice video, but you moving the camera too fast.
Thanx for the info y'all ! I guess I can move to Trinidad and be considered a millionaire LOL !!
the market looks similar like mauritius market
I miss TNT!
Whew...those prices are steep...5.00 for a bunch of bananas. ..but the produce looks wonderful
+makinyula avery the exchange for us is $6 TNT to $1 US. so basically for us its $.83 cents. for the Trinys its steep
❤️❤️
First of all, Bhagee is not called Callaloo in Trinidad and Tobago. We have our own Callaloo (Taro Plant Leaves).
You need to make a cooking video with a carabbean Mama!
hey chris i'm from the southland. would like to meet up... i'm an avid follower
Hey Chris, try to gently rotate the camera, makes me dizzy
damn....that watermelon was blood red! i bet it was sweet as hell.
I wish that we could Quantum Leap into other peoples lives because right now I want to be at that market.
Chris beg you a sandal
Wat abt d meat section
What, you're here for the Carnival?
The audio, is awful,,I hear everyone but you Cheers from NJ
Chris ah vex, yuh reach down south and didnt even holla? nah man lolz.
Does anyone here but string bean in a big way like 5000 pounds
You have not seen peewah in 24 years ? Boi what did you eat for them 24 years ???
American farmer's markets do not compare to Caribe markets.
Interesting.....but $5.00 for bananas !!
1 U.S dollar is the equivalent of 6 Trinidad dollars.
It's the Trinidadian and Tobago Dollar, which equates to about 0.78 US Dollar per pound.
Not too cheap in Trinidad. I pay .57 to .87 CDN in Toronto. It depends on where I buy them. Of course, I am sure that they are sweeter there because they ship them green.
I think it's $5 in their dollar which isn't much
Divide by 6. One US Dollar is 6 TT Dollars. It's actually cheap.
lol sweet
Hey men!!!!!!
You gotta strange accent there.
Where are you from men?
My family sell at that market. now you have me home sick. hahahaha.
There is no place like home, love meh country bad
