I just can't get over how awesome Bootsy's music is. It's a counter to the clown world we are living in where pop music is mostly garbage. To be fair, I'm a bit of a music snob, and generally listen to a lot of esoteric progressive rock and other nerdy stuff, but I grew up in the 70s and love me some funk. Bootsy's songs are so well-crafted and have so much great detail in them. And he makes amazing use of his guest artists.
His songs are professional, very finely crafted, and very funky. Boosty is clearly deeply literate in the history of dance music because you can hear so many influences in his songs (and also because he's literally lived the history of funk).
The drumming on this song is phenomenal. It's not particularly sophisticated, but it's so in the pocket and sounds like it was lifted from an old James Brown song... or from the Winstons. I half expected to hear the Amen break...
