Incredible story teller, inspirational speaker. A photographer with a real quick way to get to the sunrise or sunset!! Because when he speaks of his love of flying, the subject matter, and , I know what he loves the most of being present to capture a picture.

Brian Shul was not known like other USAF veteran pilots like Chuck Yaeger, Robin Olds , Bob Hoover and many others flyers, but what people does not realize is the fact that after being shot down in SEA and rescued with very serious burns, he endured many months of rehabilitation to re-qualify him to get back into a cockpit; this time as an SR-71 jockey ;a miracle only possible by his strong spirit and his willingness to fly again. I am so surprised that the USAF did not recognize this true hero, promoting him to at least a Brig. Gen rank ,like the others , for his outstanding achievements as a USAF pilot and as a human being. I am sure, like other fellow USAF airmen, that you deserve your Wings of Gold, to spread them wherever you are. Blue skies always my friend.

Brig Gen, when he never held a squadron or wing command? Bit unlikely.
Brian flew higher and faster than any Brigadier General, and probably flew more hours too.
I'm pretty sure he couldn't care less about making Brigadier general, which also means having to do command and war academy courses...

Could you imagine being the leader of either the Blue Angels or the Thunderbirds and the call comes down you have a ride along today. Your immediate thoughts go to just another desk jockey that wants a thrill. Then this guy guy shows up. You suddenedly go from the Navy pilot in his , LA Speed story, to in awe of a pilot that flew a plane that fewer men flew than went to the moon. That's just how special that plane and the men who flew it were'
