I recently ordered and received AD's Beach Baby and am totally thrilled with her. The dolls I have purchased through Ashton Drake their heads move nicely. They smell like baby powder even as they age. I put baby conditioner (spray on/leave in) on their hair and it makes it more manageable and softer. If I could buy more professional sculpts I would. I have about 4. So far, I've been fairly happy with Ashton Drake, Paradise Galleries kind of dolls (or lucky), and they make great props in the background of my photos and videos. So sorry you haven't had good luck, but they will take them back and send a new one - which doll artists usually don't for 5 times the price. I've been scammed by a few so-called "artists" with half the hair falling out, the paint overdone, etc.
I’ve collected Ashton Drake dolls since I was a kid and the only things my dolls old and new have ever smelled like was baby powder!
I love Ashton Drake's *So Truly Real* vinyl. I wish all reborns were made of this type of vinyl. This is what I like best about the Ashton Drake dolls - the ones that are *So Truly Real* vinyl. I have an old Little Grace, purchased used this year. The vinyl has turned grayish. Yours looks so peachy - pretty coloring ...
My neice's doll her vinyl is black and gray on her toes, knees, hands and face! Im so disappointed

She is a cute baby doll. I have 2 Ashton Drake dolls, one has curly hair and the other has painted hair. I don’t care for the hair…it’s stiff and you can’t comb it to style it at all. I just keep a hat on her. They are cute dolls but definitely not a reborn doll. I also have 4 dolls from Paradise Gallery as well. Thank you for sharing this info. 💜🙏🏻

Thanks Tori she’s a cutie l washed my Astron drake dolls hair a couple of times with baby shampoo and conditioner and put in hair spray and made their hair softer thank for your honest opinion love you videos
I have learned that the dolls they send you almost never look like the picture. Learned the hard way. My Little Grace was such a disappointment, but since my granddaughter wanted to keep her I didn't send her back. The hair was awful and her face looked like she was mad at something. I keep getting their catalogs and am tempted to order another one but won't. My two other AD dolls are ok and I have kept them.
My niece has this doll as well and her hair is terrible!!! I am thinking about returning her
I believe these dolls are made in China so the quality just isn’t there any more. They used to be made better. They recently announced their 20th anniversary WelcomeHome Emily. She looks really cute in her photos so I ordered one so we will see what the quality is when I get her but that won’t be until august. I have loved the original Welcome home Emily they did in 2003.
I also have three AD dolls. Two are fine but LILY ROSE sticky. I also don't think the hair is of good quality.

Cute ,but watch the hands..and face. The fingers on my Doll...turned dark grey..and that should never be.
Also be careful with full body ones. I have a few who's bodies have turned blue/grey

I collect Lee Middleton babies and some have the stickness as well so I found the best way was to mix Dawn dish soap and water ,wipe the baby down,rinse then pat dry and air dry it works pretty well...

I totally agree with you. Their heads are really hard so you cannot reroot them or add to them. The 2 I have I changed their bodies and reweighted them. I don’t like them being weighted with sand. One of mine is silicone which is not high quality and starts to break down.

About a year ago I purchased the baby Nora she's in the photo type I thought that I was getting a bigger baby maybe three months or so she is not what I thought I was getting when I got baby Nora home she is in like size newborn preemie size and the only thing that is really don't like is for legs I don't really care for their bodies nora cute and all but she has one weird Leg her that's kind of hard to pose on her she's a sweet happy baby in a love they definitely could do better in Photoshop 2008 something I bought my daughter Ashton Drake baby Laura I think she is a sister to baby Gracie if I'm not mistaken and she was that truly life like skin they have vinyl but she is a full body vinyl the only thing about her now is that her lips are starting to fade then her body don't look the same color as it did she don't smell or anyting and she's about lossalmost of her hair like I said I've had her since 2008 I do think Ashton-Drake does need to get a little bit better quality I mean it is what you pay for that's the only downside like you said you can't afford it and you want to collect the baby dolls thank you for this info I would like to see a video on how you change her body a I would like to do that with mine my baby Laura

I just got my ad monkey today and she looked different from the picture but she's still beautiful and I am so happy I got her in the mail the day before my birthday. I love her so much already I named her Eve.

I believe they make a good somewhat realistic doll for an older child. I just found one at Goodwill for 1st time ever and I believe she's Tiffany, not sure. She was $9.99 so I grabbed her and bought her. Extremely cute face, body is bad. No mottling or veins and that's probably why they don't look so realistic.
I got one many years back, but after the first year or so, the hair started to come out and just "lost its body shape...." I found an old vid of me opening it, and it just, it had so much hair, now it doesnt look good at all
I was always disappointed with the product received from Ashton Drake vs the picture advertised in the catalog.

Yes but it’s not a belly plate, it’s a vinyl torso that’s not removable. I have a box opening of this doll on my channel if you’d like to see her in more detail. :)
