It also applies to Bosco revives too. Meaning if you bring iron will and 4 revives you have five chances to get the job done. It saved a few deep dives and a few bad drops in them. (I fell as gunner and had to wait a while for Bosco to get me. up screw the sand caverns and vents)
@@nameisnttaylor To be fair, it can be very helpful to know who the ghost is aggroed onto. It doesn't necessarily go after the closest person. I've taken note of who has aggro in a Point Extraction mission, and managed to revive a teammate during extraction while inside of its range. Very unnerving, but it worked.
I remember doing this dive. I figured out that the hill in the middle of the cave was a death trap, because you could climb it and not realize the ghost was on the other side until you ran into it. I asked my driller to level the entire hill, which he did, and that upped our survivability by a LOT.
Fun fact: repetition is one of the best way to remember information. On a completely separate topic, did you know perks reset after each stage of a deep dive?
Dude, this Dive's second stage had me in genuine despair. I was solo as a Gunner, and the only reason I didn't quit a few minutes in is because I was chased into a faraway corner where I could spot a Jet Boot crate on a high ledge. Bosco was also a big player, building the pipes when Klevin was guarding them. It's my firm belief that the allied robots of DRG are just as much dwarves as the miners.
@@thunderstar7682 For real. More teammates can be good when they're all using their tools well, but can also be a real PITA when there are A) more bugs and B) tougher bugs because of it. I only beat one EDD with a team, but I find them relatively easy when playing alone.
Some perks have multiple uses a mission too and some are infinite use. Dash is great because at max level it resets every 12 seconds. It's great for leaping over huge gaps
Gotta love how rails allow scouts to make the game a movement shooter. Super smooth traversal combos are really fun. 6:49 being a prime example. Thank you for making and sharing this video.
Neat way you can use klevin and bulks; if they're not already about to stomp, you can grapple all the way through the explosion sphere, avoiding damage but triggering an explosion. Good way to clear the area around the bulk. Assuming no dwarves are nearby. And you can get clear of the bulk.
@@nameisnttaylor I'm also liking the change of thumbnails w the TV screen! looking forward to the direction you're going w if i may add, i enjoy the longer episodes you have where 1 video is 1 mission although deep dives are technically 3 missions hahaha
I have a friend who always leaves dwarves behind if he’s already at the drop pod (even if there’s 4 minutes left on the clock and I’m literally in C*MSHOT DISTANCE), but I will never leave a dwarf behind, and I’d rather die trying to make Karl proud than disappoint him. As you might imagine, this can get us into some quite heated arguments, with him leaving me behind when there’s still 4 minutes left on the clock (I will never forget that mission), and me failing a 40-minute mission right at the finish line.
Tbf clutching defeat from the jaws of victory on a 40 minute mission would get me pretty heated too. Sometimes leaving a dwarf behind is extremely justified
Man, I watched this and felt the agony oozing out of you by the time you hit extraction. However, know that misery loves company and I’ll join you in that because there is no quicker way to ruin my day than to see haunted cave.
perks refresh each stage I found out in the dumbest way possible when i muscle memoried using iron will and field medic than getting confused during an elite deepdive
Theres this neato impractical tech with bulks and their variants where you can grapple through the ashes when theyre about to slam to do a bunch of damage to bugs around them, its really funny
Perks reset between deep dive stages, that's probably one of the reasons it's good to take IRON WILL because you can revive yourself 3 times through the deep dive
im proud to witness His Excellently, Klevin the Exalted, High Lord of Hoxxes VI, Commander of the Bulk Detonator Grand Army. yea it’s good 2 see him again
I failed a Drilldozer mission recently with some randos because we were all either low or completely out of ammo, and there were six Praetorians and an Oppressor between us and the Drop Pod. The first time two of us went down, there were only two Praetorians. We could've won there. But the other two came back for me and the third rando, and it became something like a game of hot potato as we raced against our tiny health pools and invincibility frames to revive someone, only to immediately go down, all while more bugs spawned in. Finally, it came to be that I was the only dwarf standing, we had less than a minute left, and there were two Praetorians on each of the others. So I decided to run... only to get body blocked by an Oppressor. It was like if Shaq body blocked a wheelchair-bound infant at half court. I had no chance of escaping at that point, lmao
i remember this deep dive we had a stupid af gunne,r that went for me even though i was stuck in a hole with no platforms. needless to say we lost it :)
You could form a revive chain. One gets as close to you as needed tou reach you, dies, other does the same to the first one and one in drop pod revives the person 2, person 2 revives person 1 and person 1 revives you while they're invincible after revive
Its weird seeing videos of past dives i know i ran, i believe this was two weeks ago elite deep dive seeing as how it resets today. Last weeks elite deep dive stage 3 was horrendous for us. I think its like the 2nd elite ive ever lost. Dreadnought mission in fungus bogs, with haunted cave. We had to fight a bet-c, then when we were ready we cracked an egg. Got the glyphid dreadnought. My engineer build was made for just swarm control so i could do barely any damage to dreadnoughts, then betc apparently wandered off with another dwarf, and activated the other dreadnought spawning hiveguard. We had like 350 nitra, spent it all on revives and running around and the like and we could hardly make a dent in either one because our team was too spread out between the 3 dreadnoughts chasing us in a looping narrow cave system where they all basically 1 shot you. So since everyone was so spread out or dead by the time we do get through the glypids or hiveguards armor, we can never distract them to do damage, they would just re-armor up.
I despise haunted cave because that dang ghost just loves to suddenly act like it has an elite tag and moves at triple speed to stay close to SOMEONE. I have to have some kind of shock in my kit if i dare do haunted caves simply to slow that THING down. To note, somehow in several haunted caves i got the ghost permanently slowed as a scout by sticking 3 taser bolts in it back to back and it just....kept the shocked status slowdown permanently? Usually 2 taser bolts is nice since they apply separate slowdowns and can temporarily pin even a bulk detonator in place and not let them move an inch. And considering how useful conductive thermals is? Im seriously tempted to only use conductive thermals and the crossbow when i play scout anymore
for the bit when you said "my life flashed before my eyes" you could've put in old clips the channel would remember, as you're screaming or somthin. Like maybe the pause from the gameplay is the show of old clips.
WoWS sure is one of the games of all time. They never balanced two of the classes. Deep Dives of all variety are kind in this way. Buffs from beer count the whole dive as one mission, while perks count it as three, resetting between stages - as do bonuses gained in the mission and, at one point, support tool ammo, though that's supposedly fixed by now. By the way, detonators won't slam unless the person they're targeting is in range. Everyone not being tracked by it can pass through its radius safely if its target is out of range. The trouble is not knowing when it will decide to switch targets, but there's just always a chance you walk through unscathed. This is also why it often kills multiple in one shot - aside from being a massive burst damage attack - as it will often be targeting someone who then makes distance, and once they get caught others are between them and it. On a related note, detonators (and dreadnoughts) cannot targeting decoys of any kind until all dwarves are down. This includes hacking or rock cracker pods, the drill dozer, broken pipes, LUREs, and downed dwarves. This means they technically can after an Iron Will saved team wipe. Scuffed interaction there. Field Medic's passives were doing work this round. Incredible perk.
