i absolutely loved rachel mason for those 2 & 1/2 seasons that we had think that was when waterloo road was fantastic

I used to think that
On a re-watch he makes me cringe
The actor moaned about bad dialogue etc
But actually I thought: others have the same writers but still perform well
He’s rude about Grace, he outs things in corridors, he outs things in the staff room that could have been one on one instead, he’s rude to Rachel etc
When he left I would’ve said “don’t let the door hit you where the dog should’ve bit ya”
I honestly couldn't stand Maaka Lacey because he was absolutely annoying and useless character throughout the programme. He couldn't each teach properly. The way he spoken to Karla and Davina was vile and appalling.

Mr Lacey couldn't say nothing himself because he was moaning and whining himself complaining about the kids. He is basically a hypocrite because he was moaning and whining himself.

He yelled at Kara when she points out that the maori culture and his to far up himself he couldn't see she had started putting her hands up against her head and started humming clearly distressed.
Then showed zero compassion or understanding after Davina explained she has aspergers syndrome honestly I don't blame Davina for asking Maaka does he even know what it is as it's clear Maaka only shows interest in what impacts him.

He acussed Davina of racism when she pointed out while Homophobia might endemic in his culture be brought that on himself by excusing Homophobia by claiming its endemic in all cultures.
He balantly ingored Eddie when he said not to let Earl Kelly out of sight.
There is a reason was told that and he was meant to follow that.
So he had some cheek bashing bunch of 16 years old as bullies and whiny brats when his been a 30 something year acting the same way.
Only difference is 16 years olds are still learning and growing.
Imagine being a teacher and saying I'm not teaching here because the kids are whiney bullies. As a teacher, it's your job to address those issues
The one kid he's told is a big problem he sends to get a book from the library he doesn't even want just to get rid of him, and he's completely unsupervised. Looks like he let about ten kids out to do random stuff. This man has no point at all
I think in our school time we've all had a supply teacher similar to this who just let us sit and talk the whole lesson

they've always been known as substitute teachers here and I've only ever heard supply teacher used on US shows, so these comments are weird to me, I'm Irish but I'm pretty sure the most used European term is substitute and the term supply teacher came from American vernacular, but I could be wrong

Actually she can. First day at WR she clarted Grantley in the face with a chair, and she smacked up Steph in the next episode!! All Karla needed was her trusty chair.

Now that I've grown up: Soon as he realised Karla had Aspergers he should've apologised to her for berating her like that.
Yeah, Karla looked so stressed out in class too. I love how Davina noticed that right away.

@@BenBanjo87 I'm on about a completely different scene. She hit Steph during a music lesson. Karla was promised to sing, didn't get to which triggered her aspergers (Karla takes every little detail seriously) and then Steph got slapped for trying to calm Karla down. Another example why Steph should've been fired. She had no clue how to deal with a kid with learning disabilities.
