    The American Helicopter XH-26 Jet Jeep (known as the XA-8 by its manufacturer) was an experimental tip jet helicopter developed in 1951 by the American Helicopter Company to meet a United States Army and Air Force (USAF) request for a collapsible and air-droppable observation helicopter.

      Here you go…the YB-52 was a second series of prototype B-52 bomber with inline cockpits, swept wings, and jet pods that followed after the first XB-52 designs. The B-52 went through many design iterations, including wing, size, and engine changes.
      The aircraft was designed for lifting large loads so they really could be hard to get to set down empty. Also due to their new larger size they originally had issues stopping them in time so it needed braking parachutes.

    Hmmm.. "notwhatyouthink" said program was scrapped due to inability to to land safely so I wonder how many attempts that last shot took if that's true

      Land safely with autorotation. Autorotation is when you land without engine power.

      are you joking ? how could the rotar rotate in the opposite direction .. it would have to stop and start spinning ..by that time it would drop like a stone
