Just did Mooney Falls June 7th but couldnt hold my camera for video, this is the most scariest thing Ive done ..yet! Thanks for sharing

Thanks for the great video! I just did this and it was one of the coolest things I have ever done. I'm 72 years old. It isn't for the faint of heart or if you are claustrophobic or afraid of heights. You need to be reasonably strong and have a good grip for those chains. The spray from the falls can make the whole thing wet and a bit slippery, but still doable even in the rain and wind like it did after I got down to the bottom. My glasses were all wet as well as everything else but it was all part of the experience. There was a pile of gloves with rubberized palms for everyone to use and I highly reccommend you do!

Thanks for sharing this! Helps people know what they are getting into especially if they have an issue with heights!

I did this 10 years ago and again just this last week. I must have blocked out the memory of going down the first time because doing it again this year it was easily the scariest and worst part of the trip haha. I Can quite honestly say I won’t be back for as long as I remember this climb down

Haha that's interesting bc I don't remember it being bad at all and I'm going back next June. Maybe it was the adrenaline of the first time

Everyone says the way down is worse, but I was so scared going up. I’m only 5’1”, and I am glad I joined a Havasu Falls Facebook group and read the comments, so I could be prepared. It’s extra challenging for short folks and advisable that you have someone go before you to guide you on where to place your legs. Maybe I’m being dramatic, but the way up felt like climbing to me. 😳

I was 10 when I did this, and my cousin was 8... One of the scariest days of my life.

That's wild that you did this at 10. Pretty cool experience though. Hoping to bring my son here one day

was gonna go here but not at the expense of getting hurt. I wish they would make some safe way to access this fall. It's just too bad.

There is only one possible path so it's easy to follow. If u go early in morning it will be very quiet and u can take ur time

Great vid! By the way how tall are you? I’m about 6-2 hopefully I can go through those short caves leading to the descent

I don’t like heights but I would still do the trip. Mooney falls looks great but there are other sites you can see that you don’t have to climb down to. I know it looks beautiful but You don’t have to see Mooney falls. Just doing the trip would be an experience. I guess I will have to do the the trip and see. My mind will tell me if I can do it. If I freeze up at the beginning then I will know. 😂😂

if you don't at least go to Beaver Falls, you wasted a trip. It would be like visiting the Empire State Building and NOT going to the top, or like going to the Bahamas and not swimming in the ocean.

You have to get past Mooney Falls to get to Beaver Falls and also the Confluence if you’re interested in that. But there are other waterfalls that don’t require the climb. Beaver was the most unique/beautiful in my opinion. I’m terrified of heights, and I’m only 5’1”, but I made it down, mostly because you are staring at the wall nearly the entire time.

This looks amazing and terrifying at the same time. Is this in real time? From the top to the bottom, timewise is about 7 minutes? I'm headed there in September and I want to be prepared! Thanks!

It is in real time yes. I didn't think it was too scary. It's gets a little sketchy as you get closer to the bottom bc everything is wet from waterfall mist. but if you take your time and always maintain 3 points of contact, you will be ok. I went first thing in the morning and would highly recommend that. I think I got there around 8am and was virtually the only one there so could take my time. The way back up in early afternoon was insane bc there is only one way up/down so it's just a long line of people trying to pass each other carefully. But I noticed people were helping each other which was great.
