    I am new to polymer clay and have enjoyed your tutorials. However, the most important lesson I have taken away is the one about waist. I had a boatload of bits and pieces accumulated in a short time, simply by not planning my projects and consider waist. Thank you!

    This is the second time I've watched this and held my breath while you were gently rolling those black pieces over.... 🤣 These look stunning, the true beauty doesn't show until they are baked though, I don't have the metallic colours in premo, so will definitely buy some soon as there are a few other things you've done with similar colours I love too. Thanks so much for all the tutorials, you've given me many hours of play and many more to go I am sure. 💐💐💐

    What is the purpose of putting the acetone on the brush for resin? 🙂

    • @KathrynHalstead
      @KathrynHalstead  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      to moisten the brush then it doesn't introduce bubbles

      Hi Linda, its a Tonic Studios Craft Mat, yes all markings are printed on. mine is a Tim Holtz branded one, but there are lots of glass craft mats in lots of sizes just have a google xx

    Hi Kathryn, another question for you. I bought quite a bit of sculpey III, did not do my homework on clay first. Have not read many good reviews on sculpt III. My daughter bought me Fimo, can i blend the two together and still get a good result? or should i not use the sculpey at all.

    • @KathrynHalstead
      @KathrynHalstead  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi maggie I've had no issues mixing it but it was for bead cores so i wouldn't like to comment on its overall strength .... maybe mix just a quarter part in some scrap and test its strength ?

    • @KathrynHalstead
      @KathrynHalstead  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @helenpaul2256
    @helenpaul2256 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Please remind me, why do you use acetone on your brush before using the resin? Does it help make it spread out better? (I always have trouble getting rid of tiny bubbles, even if I use a heat gun or lighter).

    • @KathrynHalstead
      @KathrynHalstead  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Helen it just stops you adding more air bubbles if the brush is damp and acetone won't interfere with the resin, make sure your surface is spotless, use a bit of alcohol, and let it sit for a minute before you cure it. Hope that helps x

    Sorry, but I think the finished pendant is way too small to be the dramatic statement piece you could have had if you didn't cut away so much of the mokume game you worked so hard to achieve ! That pendant is going to get lost against a blouse or sweater.
